Capítulo 1644: Chapter 1644: Are You Out of Your Mind?

Joan Harry was feeling terrible, she managed to free one hand, and accidentally scratched Jesse Rowan’s face with her nails.

“Sss—” Jesse inhaled sharply, glaring hatefully at the restless woman on the bed.

“Even with a fever, you can’t stay still. I really want to pin you down on this bed and take care of you.” Jesse warned her fiercely, covering his face with one hand.

It’s definitely scarred.

Tomorrow, he still has to go to the Cheney Family, meet Sylvan Cheney, and be ridiculed with a marred face.

“Bastard…” Joan frowned and cursed, her consciousness starting to return, gradually waking up.

In a daze, she opened her eyes, meeting Jesse’s clear gaze filled with a hint of helplessness and innocence, lacking his previous gloom and coldness.

The light was somewhat blurry, and Jesse’s face was also unclear, like a dream.

Seeing her awake, Jesse surprisingly smiled: “You’re finally awake, I thought you were going to sleep forever.”

“You’re noisy.” Joan spoke weakly, her voice hoarse.

“I’m noisy? Look at what you’ve done, see for yourself.” Jesse bowed his head, leaned his neck close to her, “Your nail marks, you’ve ruined my face.”

“Ruined is ruined, what do you want?” Joan tiredly closed her eyes, not wanting to engage with him.

Earlier, he seemed like he wanted to eat her flesh and drink her blood, and now turned into that childish Jesse.

But she knew, beneath his attractive appearance, there was always a cold, vicious heart.

Or rather, no heart at all.

“Ruined is unattractive, such a basic sense, don’t you understand?” Jesse teased, looking completely like Joan’s younger brother.

“Childish.” Joan ignored him, turned her head, and closed her eyes again.

Waking from a high fever, her chest was still heavy with distress, she wished she could sleep and let all her troubles disappear.

Her lower abdomen hurt terribly, she knew she had undergone surgery while unconscious, the child was gone.

Her heart held some pain, she did like children after all.

Yet thinking it was Jesse’s child, a child that should never have been, made her care less.

“Don’t sleep, talk to me.” Jesse gently shook her shoulder.

He didn’t know why, but he was always somewhat afraid she’d sleep away to never wake again…

“You’re so annoying.” Joan couldn’t bear it anymore, “I’m still sick, can’t you let me rest for a moment? What more do you want?”

Her fever hadn’t subsided, she’d lost the child, now even rest was denied?

At her shout, Jesse rubbed his hands nervously, “I, I just think if you sleep and don’t wake up, then what?”

“Are you out of your mind?” Joan sneered, “If I could truly not wake up, I wish I wouldn’t.”

With eyes closed, her mind was a chaotic mess, wind couldn’t blow it away, time couldn’t carry it off.

Every part of her felt exhausted, if she could truly sleep and never wake, it would be quite nice…

Joan ignored Jesse completely, staying silent, but her throat was dry, she wanted water, her body felt boiling hot.

Jesse sat awkwardly by the bedside, looking down at Joan.

She ignored him, uncertain of what to say.

His face stung from her scratch, but he felt nothing, just kept staring at Joan.

Night had fallen, it was already ten o’clock, and all was silent.
