Capítulo 1643: Chapter 1643: Timmy Gives Me the Cold Shoulder

Her forehead was burning, and she could barely open her eyes, only feeling someone pressing down on her wrist, unable to move.

She always felt like someone was talking by her ear, as if it were in reality, yet it also seemed like a dream.

She couldn’t quite distinguish between reality and dream.

It was just like moments ago; she had a very long and sweet dream and was somewhat unwilling to wake up.

“Uncomfortable…” she murmured softly.

Jesse Rowan held her wrist and touched her forehead with his other hand, still very hot: “So hot, it’s no wonder you’re uncomfortable. Who else to blame but yourself for being reckless.”

He wasn’t a stranger to high fevers. Before the age of five, living in the countryside with poor conditions, he often had fevers and there weren’t very good medicines to treat them.

During those times, his mother would use home remedies to cool him down.

Though the home remedies weren’t very effective, he never had any complaints, and when it got bad, he would snuggle into his mother’s arms.

Thinking of this, he unknowingly used a bit more force in his hand and accidentally pinched Joan Harry’s wrist.

She winced in pain, furrowing her brows: “It hurts…”

Joan Harry’s complexion was pale, her slender willow-leaf eyebrows slightly knitted.

He knew that having a fever was uncomfortable.

“Will you still act recklessly in the future?” Jesse Rowan’s tone was stern, “Say, will you listen to me in the future?”

In a daze, Joan Harry heard Jesse Rowan’s voice. She tightly shut her eyes, shaking her head, very resistant to the voice.

“You!” Seeing her shake her head, Jesse Rowan was infuriated, feeling she deserved a scolding.

“I’m uncomfortable…” Joan Harry’s voice was severely hoarse, sounding as if she were about to cry, “So hot…”

Joan Harry’s other hand tried to lift the blanket.

But, Jesse Rowan held it down: “Even with a fever you can’t stay still. For a woman as disobedient as you, someone has to manage.”

Joan Harry recognized his voice, shaking her head vigorously: “Go away, I don’t want to see you, go away…”

It was him.

His voice was already very familiar to her.

Even his unique cologne scent was familiar.

She had already woken up from the dream, there was no Jesse Rowan in the dream, but in reality… there was him.

“Still picking a fight with me at a time like this? Joan Harry, why don’t you want to see me? Do you think I want to see you? Always giving me attitude, getting on my nerves, I really don’t like women like you!”

Joan Harry, after all, was running a fever. After flailing for a moment or two, she could no longer muster the energy, closing her eyes, uncomfortably furrowing her brow, unable to say a word.

Jesse Rowan’s voice by her ear agitated her eardrum.

“The young master came to see you, giving you face. You should be grateful, treat the young master nicely, understand?” Jesse Rowan was very angry.

But for some reason, though his emotions were very complex and even gloomy during the journey there, in the warm glow of the light, he gradually calmed down.

His gaze remained on Joan Harry’s face, from her hair down to her eyes, down to her lips.

Though her complexion was pale, her lips were still beautiful, like a newly ripe fruit.

When his gaze moved down, he saw Joan Harry subconsciously place her hand on her lower abdomen.

A surge of inexplicable emotions swept through Jesse Rowan’s heart, a feeling he had never experienced before.

He remained silent, didn’t change his clothes, just sat quietly by the bedside, continuously looking at Joan Harry.

For the first time, he realized just how beautiful she truly was, worthy of a beauty pageant crown.

If she really had a child, it would probably be beautiful too.

But it’s hard to say; if the father was ugly, how could the child be beautiful?
