Chapter 424 Living in the Castle

Xu Yan finished speaking, and continued to wag her tongue, "If you're not willing, then let us go."

This was a threat to Su Ling. Xu Yan didn't know why she was so sure that Su Ling would compromise and keep them.

Zhou Tingna stood outside the crowd, leaning against a tree, appearing as an outsider watching the commotion.

She chuckled at Xu Yan's words, finding Xu Yan utterly unreasonable.

No matter how greedy she was, it was merely to attach herself to a man for survival.

And Xu Yan? Overestimating herself, she treated herself as a guest, fantasizing about living in the castle.

Zhou Tingna raised her head and looked at the apartment building. She could tell at a glance that it was newly built. Compared to the prison they were living in, this place was so much better.

It was good enough to have a place to live, yet she was being picky and wanting a better environment. She was truly not thinking clearly.

Su Ling heard Xu Yan's words and understood her meaning. She looked at the crowd and asked, "According to you, if I don't satisfy your demands, you'd rather leave and not live in the apartment building?"

"Of course."

Xu Yan answered briskly, as if completely oblivious to the oppressive aura emanating from Su Ling and the coldness in her voice.

Su Ling ignored Xu Yan and looked at the others standing behind her. "What about you? Are you all like her? If you're not allowed to live in the castle, you won't live in the apartment building and would rather leave?"

When Su Ling asked, the others' eyes darted around, avoiding her gaze, afraid to respond directly.

They were not people with strong opinions to begin with. They were just instigated by Xu Yan and joined in the fuss.

Now that it concerned their departure, they all chickened out and dared not openly support Xu Yan.

"Hmph." Su Ling snorted coldly, her words laced with disdain. "I took you in out of a moment of kindness, providing you with a sanctuary in the apocalypse. I don't expect you to be eternally grateful, but don't cause trouble for me. However, it seems I had misplaced my hopes in you. Since you're unwilling to live in the apartment building, then please, be my guest. My castle does not welcome people who aim too high."

Su Ling glanced at Xu Yan and coldly uttered a single word to her: "Scram."

After saying this, Su Ling looked at Sister Na and smiled slightly. "Sister Na, if they are unwilling to stay, there's no need to force them. Go and call someone to arrange vehicles to send them back to the prison area. That is where they belong, their destination."

Sister Na grunted and was about to turn away.

"Wait." Zhou Tingna stepped out from the edge of the crowd, stood beside Xu Yan, and looked at Su Ling. "I am unwilling to leave. I want to stay. I am willing to live in the apartment building. If you need anyone to help, just ask me. I am happy to do it."

She had no special abilities and couldn't go out with Su Ling and the others to search for supplies, but she could stay behind, in the castle.

With so many people, someone needed to prepare food. She guessed that the people currently responsible for preparing dinner were those who had gone out to the prison area.

Those people were all ability users, which was a great waste of talent.

"I can cook, wash vegetables, wash dishes, and do laundry." Zhou Tingna knew she had no abilities, so she immediately highlighted her value, fearing that if she said it a moment later, Su Ling would drive her away with the others.

The others who were hesitant and didn't want to leave, after hearing Zhou Tingna's words, also stepped forward.

"I can too."

"Me too."

"And me."

...

After everyone had expressed their stance, only Xu Yan was left alone, isolated.

Looking at the situation, Xu Yan knew that if she didn't state her position now, she would be finished.
