Chapter 186: Flying from the Third Floor

.

At the very moment they tried to carry out their plan to sabotage the workers, they found themselves being beaten by a group of powerful elves.

The attack was so disastrous that some of those involved found their businesses gone by that very night.

This created a lot of chaos and confusion in the city, but the recent tremors and reports of danger elsewhere diluted, to some extent, the shock and attention on this incident.

Even more so because the pavilion itself intervened to cover everything and take care of those who had had the idea of carrying out such a sabotage.

This sent a strong warning message to other businesses that knew about or had heard of this sabotage, making them think twice before attempting anything of the sort.

Needless to say, this only made the image of this strange company, which had appeared out of nowhere, even more mysterious, even attracting the attention of the big sharks of the city.

At that moment, in fact, one of was in Ye Ning’s office.

He was a middle aged man, short and fat, but dressed in flashy clothes with many rings and golden chains on him, showing off his wealth in full splendor.

He was the owner of one of the most widespread companies focused mainly on selling medicines and pills of various kinds.

The Dān Dài, or Pill Bag.

He was second in terms of production and sale of pills only to the Pavilion of Masters and to another business that was in the Top 3 of the city’s most prosperous businesses.

Currently his company was ranked ninth, but if you only spoke of brands producing medicines and pills, in other words, in alchemy, then his company could be in the Top 3.

That said, he didn’t care too much, the profits of his business had always been high and the production and quality of his products were excellent, so much so that he already imagined dethroning the other brand above him and reaching, in a few decades, the level of the Masters Pavilion, at least when it comes to the Qiyan city.

But who would have thought that someone else appeared out of nowhere and would put his business to the test?

In this last semester his earnings had been falling more and more and when he investigated he discovered that this was due to the increasingly rapid rise of a new company specialized in producing various products, including pills and medicines.

He was stunned and for a moment wondered if his secretary was making fun of him; after all, how could a company so new be putting such pressure on him?

But reality was cruel and he had to accept the fact.

This, however, did not make him angry; on the contrary, his intuition told him about the potential of this growing company.

He had already guessed at a glance that a price war would not take them far, and the failed attempts of other businesses in recent months confirmed that, especially after he saw how some of them disappeared overnight.

He felt this could be a good opportunity to absorb this company into his own; after all, why fight something so good when you could assimilate it?

He personally came today instead of sending someone to make his proposal and try to buy this company, preparing to shell out enormous sums.

He could even accept the idea of entering into business in exchange for a considerable slice of the this company, and he really thought it was a good idea, after all, he was a giant in Qiyan city, and who would not want to associate with him?

With that in mind, he paid a personal visit, and although he had to make an appointment, which annoyed him, he accepted it, considering the value and future potential of the business, and finally, he was here.

He was curious to see what prestigious figure had founded such a flourishing business in so short a time, but when he finally reached the table, he found nothing more than a young elf girl, no more than fifteen years old at first glance, sitting there with an impassive expression as she told him to take a seat.

Needless to say, he didn’t take the girl seriously at all, but decided to play along at first, going straight to the point without wasting time, asking without holding back how much they wanted to sell the entire business.

He relaxed, and his curiosity for the owner of this place was thrown out the window when he entered here.

Having to deal with a little girl? They were looking down on him or what?

Who did she think she was?

He didn’t bother to discuss or keep any level of respect and presented his proposal, which at that point sounded more like a demand than anything else.

"I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you, I’m not interested in your proposal," she said, keeping a professional and calm tone as she took a sip of tea that was still steaming in front of her.

She immediately understood what kind of person she was dealing with, and considering his attitude and the "business proposal," she didn’t waste time with useless words and refused immediately, shutting down any claim to discussion.

Needless to say, this made the other party angry; he made a grimace and said,

"Girl, stop making me waste time and call the owner of this place. These aren’t things someone like you should be handling," he said, completely ignoring what she had just said.

His patience with her ran out, and seeing her reject his proposal without hesitation no longer sat well in his eyes.

"Unfortunately that won’t be possible, because the owner is busy with something important, and in his absence I’m the one in charge, and I can tell you that we are not interested in selling our business nor in any partnership at the moment," she said simply.

Hearing this, the other party began to laugh for a moment, then said,

"Not interested, girl, I don’t think you understand who you’re dealing with. If I wanted to I could make you and this little business disappear in less than a day.

You should be grateful I’m making such a good offer.

Seriously, little fish like you, do you really think that little success you’ve had recently means anything to us who have been in this business for decades?" he said, no longer holding back and openly showing his contempt.

But just as he finished speaking he felt a hand press on his shoulder, and as he turned to see who it was, Ye Ning’s voice sounded once again.

"Well, if that’s the case we’ve got nothing more to talk about here,

throw him out the window," she said with a calm look, which didn’t seem to show any fear or worry, only a chilling calm.

"Wha-" The man, hearing what she had said, had no time to process it, as in the next moment, he was already flying out of the office window,

which was on the third floor of the building.
