Chapter 044 The Mad Bandit Dragon

"Although the park is managed by a computer system, some control systems still require manual operation. As a result, someone made an operational error, causing all the dinosaurs to escape their containment zones. Most of the tourists didn't escape the dinosaurs' sharp claws. I was fortunate enough to hide in an emergency shelter in time, and thus survived."

Bai Ye nodded. "Alright, what do you need me to do?"

"Take me away from the park!" Dr. Hadd suddenly became agitated, looking at Bai Ye. "I have money, lots of money. Jurassic Park brought me wealth when it was running normally. As long as you take me out of here, I can give you enough money to last a lifetime."

"Money is meaningless to me..."

Bai Ye shook his head. What good was money in the World Battlefield? Could it make him stronger?

However...

"You have received a hidden quest."

"Hidden Quest: Help Dr. Hadd escape the Jurassic Park's perimeter. Quest Reward: Fossilized Pterodactyl x1, Chocolate Energy Bar x1"

Bai Ye swallowed the latter half of the sentence, looked at Dr. Hadd, and smiled broadly. "But lots of money does have meaning."

Dr. Hadd was also somewhat excited, but also worried. "Can you really take me away?"

Bai Ye spread his hands. "No matter how eloquently I speak, you have no other choice, do you?"

Dr. Hadd couldn't refute this. He gritted his teeth. "Alright, I'll go with you."

"No problem," Bai Ye said. "By the way, do you have any food?"

Dr. Hadd replied, "Quite a few cans."

Bai Ye said, "That's fine, as long as I can eat my fill."

Food and water were essential, as Bai Ye's supplies were running low. This was a good opportunity to replenish them.

Opening a can, Bai Ye ate while saying, "To leave here, we need to plan ahead."

Dr. Hadd nodded. "What should we plan? Food, fresh water. There are some weapons in the park, but they aren't advanced, mostly old hunting rifles. Besides that, there are two jeeps that can still run."

"No, it's not that complicated," Bai Ye looked up. "None of that is important."

Dr. Hadd looked confused. None of it was important?

Bai Ye said, "I don't know the way."

This time, Dr. Hadd couldn't refute. He began rummaging through drawers and soon found a map. "This is the park's floor plan. We are at this location..."

Bai Ye glanced at it. "Leaving here doesn't seem too difficult?"

Jurassic Park was indeed vast, and traversing it would likely take about four to five days. However, the management area where they were located was only a sixteen-hour journey from the nearest outer perimeter.

Dr. Hadd chuckled bitterly. "It's not far, but there are dinosaurs everywhere outside. Some security guards who tried to leave before were all eaten. Also, we must go to this place before we leave."

Bai Ye looked at the map. "What place is this?"

Dr. Hadd replied, "Research Lab 3. I must retrieve the amber fossil."

"No problem," Bai Ye said, glancing at the map. "It's on the way. However, we'll need to travel on foot. Your Jurassic Park has likely been destroyed for many years, and the terrain outside has changed significantly. There are no roads suitable for vehicles anymore."

Dr. Hadd nodded, having no objections. He had indeed survived here for many years, and was tired of relying on canned food and living underground. Bai Ye was his only hope. As long as Bai Ye could get him out of here, Dr. Hadd would do anything.

Bai Ye finished two cans, then picked up his backpack. "Let's go then."

Bai Ye felt confident about completing the quest. After all, he still had one chance with the gacha machine, and he possessed fragments of the God Stone!

As long as he used a God Stone fragment to designate the gacha color, Bai Ye believed a golden gacha would surely help him resolve everything.

Of course, that was a God Stone fragment!

Bai Ye didn't think Dr. Hadd's quest rewards could compare to a God Stone fragment, so sacrificing one was not worth it. If any accidents occurred, Bai Ye intended to escape immediately and let Dr. Hadd feed the dinosaurs.

But regardless, it was a rare hidden quest. Since he had encountered it, he naturally wanted to find a way to complete it.

Lost in thought, Bai Ye led Dr. Hadd out of the building complex and began heading east.

Dr. Hadd, clutching the hunting rifle, was somewhat nervous. Since receiving the quest, Bai Ye was almost certain Dr. Hadd posed no threat. He had returned the rifle and grenades to him.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the grass to their side. Dr. Hadd immediately turned, raising the hunting rifle.

"Calm down," Bai Ye said, pressing on the barrel of the gun. "This kind of noise clearly indicates something small."

The grass continued to rustle, and then, a tree frog hopped out from the bushes.

"Let's keep moving forward," Bai Ye said. "Actually, there aren't as many dinosaurs as imagined? I haven't seen any along the way. I only encountered a few velociraptors and one ceratosaurus before."

Dr. Hadd explained, "This area is the management zone, not the tourist area. The dinosaur habitats within the park are not nearby. Furthermore, these dinosaurs are cloned. Compared to real dinosaurs, although their resemblance is high, their lifespan is not long. Based on calculations I've made, their lifespan typically lasts from 5 to 30 years."

Bai Ye asked, "How long has it been since the accident?"

Dr. Hadd sighed. "It's been eleven years."

Bai Ye glanced at Dr. Hadd. Eleven years of living in darkness without going mad. His will to survive was truly strong.

Dr. Hadd continued, "So, as long as we aren't too unlucky, the probability of encountering dinosaurs before leaving the management zone is indeed not high. Also, some herbivorous dinosaurs have very low aggression. Even if we encounter them, we don't need to worry too much."

As soon as Dr. Hadd finished speaking, a blurred silhouette suddenly flashed ahead, and then...

A dinosaur, as black as ink, with spikes on its back and golden stripes on its belly, slowly walked out from the side.

Dr. Hadd's expression turned grim. "Carnotaurus. It's the same species as the velociraptor, but more ferocious."

Bai Ye spread his hands. "So, are you unlucky, or am I unlucky?"

The moment Bai Ye spoke, the Carnotaurus happened to turn its head and meet Bai Ye's gaze, then...

ROAR!

The Carnotaurus instantly became agitated, roaring in the direction of Bai Ye and Dr. Hadd, and then charged towards them.

"Get back!"
