Bai Ye immediately took to his heels and ran.
Even with the T-virus enhancement, Bai Ye's body was no match for a behemoth of such tonnage. The difference was that a collision would turn him into a meat paste, whereas now, it would leave him somewhat intact.
However, after his body was enhanced, Bai Ye's speed could indeed contend. And while he certainly couldn't contend with a Ceratosaurus in a brute strength contest, that didn't mean Qiao Ye had no means of killing it.
Running forward rapidly, Bai Ye reached out and patted the surrounding trees, leaving marks as he went, and then…
Rumble, rumble, rumble!
The moment the Ceratosaurus charged…
Invisible Explosions!
Explosion sounds rang out consecutively, and the Ceratosaurus's massive body was blasted over, its skin sustaining blast wounds.
However, it was only for a brief moment.
After tumbling twice on the ground, the Ceratosaurus quickly resumed its pursuit of Bai Ye, clearly much more resilient than the Velociraptors before.
But as the Ceratosaurus gave chase again, frost mist began to swirl on the ground ahead.
Condensing Frost Sword, Sword Manifests Frost!
Crack, crack!
As the Ceratosaurus stepped into the frost mist, its body was immediately covered in a layer of frost, and its speed consequently slowed.
In that instant, Bai Ye executed a slide-step, forcefully braking his body, and a Taoist talisman was clutched in his hand.
"Lightning Curse!"
As the talisman burned, a bolt of thunder suddenly descended from the heavens, striking the Ceratosaurus fiercely.
A piteous roar erupted, and amidst the lightning, the Ceratosaurus repeatedly shook its body.
"One isn't enough?" Bai Ye grinned. "Then another one!"
Bai Ye quickly produced a second Taoist talisman, held it between his fingers, and shook it. Then, as the second talisman burned, the Lightning Curse was cast again.
Rumble!
Lightning flashed across the sky once more, and a second bolt of thunder struck the Ceratosaurus hard.
This time, the Ceratosaurus could no longer hold on. Its massive body swayed, then slammed heavily onto the ground. Black smoke billowed from its entire form, and after convulsing on the ground for a while, it lay still.
Bai Ye breathed a sigh of relief, casually waved his hand, and the Condensing Frost Sword, which had transformed into frost, flew back. He then looked around.
In the chase with the Ceratosaurus, Bai Ye found himself near a cluster of buildings.
This brought Bai Ye a flicker of joy. Could there be people here?
The possibility wasn't very high. This godforsaken place was teeming with dinosaurs, and it was more likely that all the living humans had been eaten. However, since there were buildings, it meant Bai Ye might find food and fresh water.
But just as Bai Ye stepped on the broken glass and entered the building…
"Human, human, it's really a human!"
Before Bai Ye could even assess what was inside the building, a voice suddenly rang out. Following the sound, Bai Ye saw a disheveled man running madly towards him.
"Don't come closer!"
Bai Ye immediately took out his playing cards and held them in his hand, watching the man warily. It wasn't because the man's appearance was so wretched, even grotesque, like a demon.
It was because the man was holding a double-barreled shotgun, had a bandolier of bullets around his waist, and even two grenades holstered at his side.
"No, no, no, I mean no harm," the man immediately raised his gun, hastily saying, "I am Dr. Harding, you're here to save me, right? You must have been sent to save me!"
Bai Ye pointed at the shotgun in the man's hand, then pointed at the table nearby and said, "If you want to talk, turn the gun sideways and place it on the table. Your hands must remain within my sight, understand?"
"Okay, okay, no problem!"
Dr. Harding agreed readily, slowly turning to place his gun down, but then he seemed to recall something and raised the gun again.
"Hmm?"
Bai Ye became wary again.
Dr. Harding said, "I can put down my weapon, but we can't talk here. It's too dangerous. We need to go somewhere safer."
Bai Ye thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright!"
Bai Ye gestured again, and Dr. Harding placed the gun on the metal table beside them.
Bai Ye casually took the shotgun and slung it over his shoulder, then reached out and removed the grenades from Dr. Harding's waist.
"Follow me."
Dr. Harding called out and quickly led Bai Ye to the side.
Only then did Bai Ye have the chance to observe his surroundings. This seemed to be a cafeteria, and beyond a corridor was an office area with many laboratories, looking like some kind of research center.
Walking through the office area, Dr. Harding led Bai Ye to an electronic door. After entering a password, a passage leading underground was revealed.
There was space underground as well, seemingly another research area, but it was now considered a living space.
Bai Ye saw cans scattered everywhere, along with other discarded living refuse in a corner, emitting a pungent odor. A metal platform used for experiments had been turned into a bed, with a sleeping bag placed on it.
Dr. Harding said, "Alright, now we can talk. Who hired you? An investment firm? Or the military? You're here to help me, aren't you?"
Bai Ye shrugged. "Sorry, I'm just passing through."
Dr. Harding blinked in surprise, then became agitated. "No, impossible! You're not here to save me?"
"That can be discussed," Bai Ye pointed at the monitor on the side. "You must have seen my fight through this, so I believe you have a certain understanding of my strength. That's why you rushed to find me, isn't it?"
There was a row of monitors on the side of the room, including a view of the area outside the building complex. Therefore, the other party must have seen Bai Ye fighting the Ceratosaurus.
Bai Ye said, "However, I'd like to know what happened here first."
Dr. Harding hesitated for a moment, then said, "I wanted to create an extraordinary park."
Bai Ye chuckled. "Jurassic Park?"
"Yes, dinosaurs are the stars of this park," Dr. Harding said. "I gathered a large number of renowned scientists and used the blood from ancient mosquitoes trapped in amber to extract dinosaur genetic information. Using this information, I bred and reproduced dinosaurs, and I succeeded as I wished. You should have seen those creatures on your way here."
"Uh-huh." Bai Ye nodded. "But this scene doesn't seem to align with the word 'park'."
"Yes!" Dr. Harding appeared extremely grief-stricken, clutching his forehead. "As you can see, Jurassic Park had an accident, and a major one at that."
