"You really can!" Xu Yan was very excited. She looked at Wen Shangyin, "I can help you, as long as you need it."
"Oh?" Wen Shangyin looked at Xu Yan, who had just spoken, with curiosity. "What kind of ability do you have?"
When asked about her ability, Xu Yan hesitated for a moment before choosing to answer Wen Shangyin, "I can transform into anyone I want to be."
"What?" Wen Shangyin thought Xu Yan was joking. After all, he had never heard of such an ability before; it was like something from a fantasy novel.
Xu Yan knew Wen Shangyin didn't believe her and understood that words were futile.
Instead of wasting time with explanations, acting directly and proving herself with actions would be the most effective.
With that thought, Xu Yan looked at Wen Shangyin and Song Lian. "You name someone, and I'll transform into her appearance for you to see. Seeing is believing, and once you witness it, you'll understand what I mean."
Wen Shangyin and Song Lian's curiosity had been piqued by this.
They exchanged a glance, and Wen Shangyin looked at Xu Yan. "Transform into Su Ling's appearance."
Before Wen Shangyin even spoke, Xu Yan had already guessed they would ask her to transform into Su Ling.
After all, Su Ling was such a formidable existence, and she was so beautiful. It was only natural for men in the apocalypse to admire her.
Xu Yan didn't hesitate. She nodded at Wen Shangyin, then closed her eyes and pictured Su Ling's appearance in her mind.
Wen Shangyin and Song Lian remained silent, watching Xu Yan with closed eyes, waiting for a surprise.
Then, they saw Xu Yan's appearance begin to change before their very eyes.
As time passed, Xu Yan's original form vanished, and in her place stood Su Ling, before Wen Shangyin and Song Lian. Her body was still Xu Yan's, but her face was no longer Xu Yan's; it was Su Ling's.
Wen Shangyin and Song Lian had half-expected Xu Yan to be tricking them. Seeing her transform into Su Ling's likeness, they realized she wasn't lying; Xu Yan truly possessed this ability.
The only difference, perhaps, was that while the Xu Yan before them had Su Ling's face, she carried an air of worldliness, and her aura was vastly different from Su Ling's. Su Ling had a cool demeanor, while Xu Yan exuded fiery passion.
Seeing Wen Shangyin and Song Lian's reactions, Xu Yan knew she had succeeded.
"How is it?" Xu Yan looked at Wen Shangyin and Song Lian, raising a hand to scratch her hair flirtatiously. "Does it look alike?"
Wen Shangyin held his wine glass, swirling it gently as he looked at Xu Yan. "How long can you maintain it?"
"I'm not sure," Xu Yan replied, looking at Wen Shangyin. "I haven't practiced much, and this ability consumes a lot of crystal cores. I rarely go out to kill zombies, so I can't get many crystal cores, which is why I hardly use this ability."
Upon hearing Xu Yan's words, Wen Shangyin thought for a moment, then looked at Song Lian. "Do you want it?"
Before Song Lian could answer, Wen Shangyin leaned in and looked at him. "Although it's not Su Ling's body, it's her face. Why don't you make do?"
Song Lian looked at Wen Shangyin, momentarily confused by his meaning.
Meanwhile, Wen Shangyin looked at Xu Yan. "Your ability is excellent, and you're welcome to join us. However, before you join, you'll need to help us with something."
"What is it?" Xu Yan was overjoyed to be considered, though she kept her composure with Su Ling's face.
Wen Shangyin smiled and pointed to Song Lian beside him. "Come here, and use Su Ling's face to please Ah Lian. I'll provide the crystal cores. Let Ah Lian be satisfied with Su Ling's face."
