Chapter 174 Heh, Believe You a Ghost

Seeing Duan Chen's troubled expression and his silence, Hill began to wonder if she had been too harsh.

She cleared her throat, drawing the attention of Michelle and Duan Chen.

"Don't worry. Since such a serious issue has appeared here, I won't leave until it's resolved."

This was indeed good news.

Duan Chen nodded. "Then I'll have to trouble you for now."

He did feel a sense of relief. Regardless of Hill's true nature, the fact that she had detected this thing didn't belong to Mirror City, but to another city, was a considerable piece of good fortune for them.

The most urgent matter was to investigate everything concerning that other city.

But how could they investigate?

Duan Chen felt an unease in his heart.

If there was one, there would be two, and if there were two, there would be three. Why hadn't anyone discovered this before?

"What are you doing? Lift your leg."

As he was deep in thought, he suddenly felt a kick on his calf. He looked over in surprise and saw Wu Suowei, dressed as a cleaner and whom he hadn't seen in a while.

Duan Chen's mouth twitched. "What are you up to now?"

Wu Suowei tugged at his slightly tight sleeve and retorted, "Can't you tell? Working to earn money to support my family."

Heh, believe that if you can.

Duan Chen rolled his eyes.

He had no idea how much money Wu Suowei had conned out of him, and now he claimed he needed to work to support his family?

Don't tell him his divine power required money to sustain.

Yet, even Duan Chen himself didn't realize that the moment he saw Wu Suowei appear, his mood had significantly lightened.

"Your part-time jobs are really multiplying," Duan Chen said, following Wu Suowei as he swept.

To be honest, Wu Suowei didn't seem like a god at all.

Wu Suowei washed the mop in the dirty water, rinsed it thoroughly, and then placed it back in its spot. He gave a dead-fish stare.

"So what?"

"Not everyone is like you, not needing to earn money."

Duan Chen was instantly rendered speechless.

He *did* need to earn money.

Or rather, there wasn't a pressing need for funds at the moment.

"Right, why are you here?" Duan Chen asked, scrutinizing Wu Suowei with a puzzled look.

Every time Wu Suowei appeared, something significant happened. His sudden appearance here, did it mean the next event was going to unfold here?

"To deliver something to you," Wu Suowei yawned, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

"Some people don't abide by the rules, so I can bend them a little within the rules."

"What?" Duan Chen couldn't understand this statement.

Wu Suowei didn't intend to explain.

He pulled a deck of cards from his pocket and pressed it into Duan Chen's palm.

Duan Chen looked at the rectangular playing card pressed into his hand with a strange expression. No, these weren't playing cards.

"Tarot cards?"

He was both surprised and a little exasperated.

"Why give me this? I don't plan on working part-time like you."

Now it was Wu Suowei's turn to be speechless.

"I'm not asking you to work part-time with me."

"Then what for?" Duan Chen knew it wasn't about part-time work, but he couldn't resist needling Wu Suowei.

As he spoke, he sat down on a nearby bench, legs spread, arms resting on his knees, and opened the box of white-faced tarot cards.

"Draw as many as you can," Wu Suowei prompted. "I remember you already have your own weapon."

"Of course." Duan Chen said, taking out his Thousand Illusions Pandora.

He twirled it expertly in his hand. "What?"

"This is another destined weapon for you."

"What?" Duan Chen found that all the problems he had in a year didn't amount to the questions he had today.

Could one have two destined weapons?

This was too fantastical.

How was that possible?

Wu Suowei patted his pocket, his expression calm. "I've already taken the 10 million."

"Wait, where did I get 10 million from?" Duan Chen's eyes widened in disbelief, then he realized another issue. "You took my money without my consent?"

Wu Suowei remained calm and forthright.

"What are you talking about? This is clearly a fair and just transaction."

"I give you a second destined weapon, and you give me 10 million."

"Additionally, I need to tell you that I have some urgent matters requiring my departure, so you need to seize the opportunity yourself during this period. Don't let a reachable chance slip through your fingers."

Wu Suowei looked at Duan Chen meaningfully. "However, I believe that with your current capabilities, such a thing won't happen."

Duan Chen was utterly bewildered.

What was going on?

He didn't understand a single word.

Duan Chen opened his mouth to ask Wu Suowei, but his hand was immediately pressed shut.

Wu Suowei's voice came through, "Don't speak, don't ask."

"There are things I can't tell you now, but you just need to know that for the next roughly six months, you can only rely on yourself. I won't be by your side. You have three chances to ask for help."

"See this card?"

Duan Chen looked down at the new card placed in his hand.

It was a colorful card, resembling colored glaze.

On it was a cartoon avatar of himself.

The back depicted a second-dimensional style, astonishingly handsome Wu Suowei – so much so that he barely looked like himself.

Duan Chen knew it was Wu Suowei because his name was clearly written in three regular script characters at the bottom of the card's back.

"It can't be this bad..." Duan Chen's mouth twitched.

He was really becoming more narcissistic.

Wu Suowei reached out and tapped the front of the card. The cartoon Duan Chen immediately raised his hands, shouting "Help! Help! Save me!" and the card began to flash.

He said calmly.

"When you are in imminent danger, simply channel your spiritual energy into it, and I will know you are calling for help. But you only have three chances. Once you've used all three, I won't be able to appear if you encounter a fatal danger again."

"Look after yourself, Duan Chen."

Wu Suowei gave Duan Chen one last deep look. "This is your only period of peaceful development."

Duan Chen frowned. "Where are you going?"

Wu Suowei shook his head.

He walked directly out, one hand in his pocket, the other waving over his shoulder as he left with great swagger.

He left Duan Chen, holding a deck of cards and a special material card, completely bewildered.
