Chapter 728: Chapter 728: Sometimes Envious
"Who? Could it be..." Susan Carter was about to say a name when the doorbell rang.
"Go open the door." July Quinn continued to tidy her clothes, then picked up a makeup palette to dab and apply on her face.
She wasn’t particularly fond of makeup, but for such an important occasion today, she had to pretty herself a bit.
Susan opened the door as instructed and saw Kyle Keaton standing there in a black custom-tailored suit, paired with a matching black shirt.
He was holding a bouquet of fresh flowers in his hand.
Today, July had taken the rare initiative to meet him, so Kyle intended to present flowers to the beautiful lady, starting this romantic and delightful evening.
However, the surprise July was supposed to create for him hadn’t happened, but it seemed the shocks were plenty.
"What are you doing here?" Kyle stared intently at Susan’s exotically beautiful face, gripping the bouquet tightly.
His stance suggested he wanted to use the bouquet as a weapon against Susan.
Yet Susan seemed more accepting of Kyle, responding to Kyle’s visible anger with a smile.
"I’m my father’s son, why can’t I be here? Come in, my father’s man."
Since July mentioned she found a Flower Guardian, Susan had guessed she invited Kyle Keaton.
Although July was beautiful and quite charming, attracting many suitors, she had the knack for converting men who didn’t like her into admirers.
But from the time Susan had spent with her, he only saw her genuinely in love with Kyle Keaton.
So occasionally, Susan felt envious of Kyle, for having this female bandit’s whole-hearted affection.
After finishing his greeting, Susan enthusiastically led Kyle to the living room.
"Do you want coffee or black tea? They’re canned though; I’m too lazy to brew them."
Kyle Keaton: "..."
If he and July were truly a couple before, how could he tolerate this rugged man calling July ’dad’ and living so carefree as if her home was his?
"You look like you don’t need anything, so don’t interrupt me while I’m watching videos."
Kyle didn’t reply, just frowned coldly at him while Susan took out his phone to continue watching "Country Love 12."
But then, a pillow flew straight at his forehead.
"Don’t slack off, go brew two cups of black tea."
Following the voice, Kyle looked and saw July standing at the corner of the living room in front of a full-length mirror, applying makeup.
The garish gold surprisingly fit her enigmatically well, perfectly mastered by her.
Susan wisely rolled off to brew the tea, while Kyle leisurely walked towards July.
In front of the mirror that revealed everything, Kyle embraced July from behind, pulling her into his arms.
Though July’s makeup wasn’t fully done, their shared beauty and physique were enough to overlook these minor imperfections, making the scene astonishingly beautiful.
However, July wasn’t in the mood to appreciate their perfect union and repeatedly pushed Kyle away.
"Don’t move around, I haven’t finished my makeup yet."
"Whether you wear makeup or not makes no difference. Why mess with all this unnecessary stuff?"
Kyle wasn’t fond of the artificially scented smell of cosmetics, which was far less pleasing than July’s natural fragrance.
With that thought, Kyle couldn’t help but bury his face into July’s neck.
It had been a few days since they spent the night together at Stillwater Villa.
His longing for July grew incessantly, so when July asked him over, he agreed right away.
