Chapter 673: Fairy-type Expert, Terrance!

The next day.

Terrance boarded a plane to Hoenn and arrived in the Hoenn region in less than a day.

He had originally planned to spend a month preparing for battle, aiming to face Diantha in his best condition.

But after thinking about it, since it was only an exhibition match, there was no need to take it too seriously. It would be better to finish the tasks at hand and face the match with a calm mindset.

After returning to Fallarbor Town, Terrance informed Kotoko that she could now allow Trainers who had chosen the second type of Gym challenge mode to come to the Gym for their test.

“Can you guarantee you won’t leave for the whole month?”

“Probably…”

Terrance glanced at the ceiling. Although he wanted to say yes, he had a feeling something unexpected might happen.

“I’ll try my best to stay in Fallarbor Town.”

“All right, but don’t forget Rina’s parent-teacher meeting in half a month,” Kotoko said.

After nodding slightly, Terrance spoke: “I remember you said last time that a company wanted to buy that farmland in Fallarbor Town?”

“Yes. Do you have a plan?” Kotoko asked.

“Yeah.” Terrance nodded. Before seeing Altaria’s Fairy Aura, he hadn’t had a plan, but now he had a very good idea.

He wanted to turn that farmland in Fallarbor Town into a flower field and also raise some Cutiefly.

Cutiefly is a Bug/Fairy-type Pokémon. Not only does its type fit Fallarbor Town’s style, but it also has certain commercial value.

The flower field project would be similar to the Fallarbor Woods Scenic Area Project, also aimed at tourism, except this time the selling point would be various flowers.

Fallarbor Town was already well-suited for planting crops, but if it was only used for planting ordinary crops, it would be a waste of this prime land.

If it were turned into a flower field, it would be different. Adding Cutiefly to the mix would increase the value of the area even more. Cutiefly’s food is nectar and pollen, and they can produce a special kind of honey that is not only delicious but also a top-grade flavouring that could be sold for a good price.

At the same time, while eating nectar and pollen, Cutiefly would also release energy that promotes the growth of flowers, making them bloom even more beautifully.

However, if it were only this, the profit involved would not be enough to make Terrance go to such great lengths.

But if Altaria mastered Fairy Aura, it could ensure that after absorbing enough nutrients in the flower fields, the Cutiefly could evolve into Ribombee with the help of Fairy Aura’s power.

Ribombee’s pollen puffs contain rich nutrients and are often sold in Alola as nutritious supplements. Compared to honey, these pollen puffs not only have higher yields but also broader uses. In other words, Altaria’s Fairy Aura would be the top-rate method for raising Cutiefly.

While others might have to go to great lengths to raise Cutiefly, Terrance could simply have Altaria use Fairy Aura every few months, making this a guaranteed profitable project.

“This project cannot be launched until at least two months later.”

Altaria hadn’t returned to the team yet, so it was still too early to put the plan into motion.

But just like the Fallarbor Woods Scenic Area Project, if successful, this plan could become an even bigger undertaking than the Fallarbor Woods Scenic Area Project.

“If used well, the Fairy Aura ability is like a cheat code, just like psychic power or Aura power.”

Terrance sighed with emotion. Although he had only seen an imperfect version from Altaria, the power of Fairy Aura had truly shocked him.

Enhancing a Pokémon’s strength and unlocking its potential, isn’t that exactly the kind of thing Sabrina’s psychic power and Albus’s Aura can achieve?

Now that Altaria had mastered this ability, there was no doubt that as Altaria’s Trainer,

Terrance had essentially gained the fastest method for raising Fairy-type Pokémon.

For a powerful psychic user, raising Psychic-type Pokémon was quite effortless!

With Altaria possessing an equivalent ability, plus Terrance, a Senior Breeder, raising Fairy-type Pokémon would be no difficult task either.

In other words, once Altaria fully mastered Fairy Aura, Terrance would be an expert in breeding Fairy-types!

“Eh… maybe I should change Fallarbor Gym from a Bug-type Gym to a Fairy-type Gym…” Terrance muttered to himself.

“What are you talking about?” Kotoko asked blankly, seeing Terrance daze off for a moment.

“Uh, nothing. I mean, I’ll be going now.”

Leaving Fallarbor Gym, Terrance was deep in thought. Changing the Gym’s type wasn’t impossible, but the significance wasn’t great, so he decided to forget it.

He had poured a lot of effort into the Bug-type Gym, and changing it now would inevitably feel a bit regretful.

However, although he was still a Bug-type Gym Leader, his strongest specialty might no longer be Bug-type, but Fairy-type!

Two months later, with Altaria’s Fairy Aura to assist, Terrance would have the fastest method to raise Fairy-type Pokémon.

“Before that… I should go door-to-door and talk to the residents.”

Terrance shook his head.

Over the next two days, he took the time to understand the thoughts of Fallarbor Town’s residents, and this made him even more confident in his Cutiefly-raising plan.

He had underestimated his current reputation in Fallarbor Town. Perhaps… even the town’s mayor no longer had as much influence as Terrance.

Since Terrance’s rise, Fallarbor Town had changed drastically. The residents’ quality of life had at least doubled, something they had never even dared to imagine before.

This was also why, when a company wanted to buy farmland, the residents came to consult Terrance first.

“Although large-scale Cutiefly breeding isn’t urgent, I personally want to raise one and see.

Not just Cutiefly, preferably two other Fairy-type Pokémon as well.”

That way, he could better study Altaria’s Fairy Aura in the future.

Since Altaria had learned Fairy Aura from Xerneas, Terrance had suddenly developed a great interest in Fairy-types. He compiled the Fairy-type Pokémon and moves that Rotom Pokédex had recorded that were discovered in the future, and began delving deeper into the Fairy-type field.

Two days later.

Terrance contacted an old friend in the research field, Faba of the Aether Foundation in the Alola region.

Since Alola had no official Pokémon League, the Aether Foundation was currently the largest organization there. If Terrance asked them for help, the efficiency should be high.

“Can Cutiefly inherit the move ‘Baton Pass’ from Surskit or Ledyba? You need a Cutiefly that knows Baton Pass?”

“Even one would do; of course, the more the better,” Terrance replied.

The other side was silent for a moment. This breeding process wasn’t hard for Faba. With his position in Aether, all it would take was a word from him, the only cost being a bit of time.

Although the process would be tedious, once given clear instructions and a specific breeding plan, Faba could simply assign the Breeders under him to handle it.

“This inheritance plan came from Master Victor, didn’t it?” the voice asked again.

“Of course. I’m now Master Victor’s disciple. It’s pretty much common knowledge,” Terrance said with a smile.

“All right, but in exchange, I’ll need some genetic breeding knowledge in the field of psychic power.”

“As long as it’s within my ability, that won’t be a problem,” Terrance replied.
