Chapter 237 - 238: Iron-Willed and Rapidly Kneeling

After the Eldar Maiden finished carving the last line, Zhang Ge looked at her face, which struggled to maintain an air of calmness, while the corners of her eyes occasionally twitched with suppressed humiliation. He felt a strange sense of vengeance fulfilled.

You had me pinned down at one point and didn't kill me.

"Bite down."

He tossed the plaque toward her, and true to form, the Eldar reacted swiftly. Despite Zhang Ge having made a short, deliberate toss that was slightly off-target, she nonetheless caught the plaque expertly with her teeth.

"Is this humiliation enough to satisfy your sick desires, pitiful outer being? May your soul be devoured by the Lady of the Hunger after death."

She bit down on the plaque, her words a hissing whisper laced with venom, though her emotions caused the liquid to dribble down the plaque, spilling over the edges and dripping into the crevice it created, utterly devoid of menace.

"No, you're mistaken; I'm not satisfied yet."

Zhang Ge stepped closer, apparently unfazed by the possibility of her suddenly launching a strike with the long knife at his side, instead escalating his taunts:

"Hang the collar on yourself, pet. And remember to change how you address me; I trust you understand what I mean?"

Seeing that, even after such humiliation, she had no intention of physically resisting, merely struggling to maintain her composure with labored breaths, Zhang Ge felt a twinge of regret as he connected the plaque to the collar.

He placed a hand on her head, stroking her silky hair slightly as a reward while pondering the situation regarding Komorragh.

Going to Komorragh wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision; it was a conclusion drawn through careful consideration. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn novelfire(.)net

Previously, his reluctance to interact with the Dark Eldar stemmed from the uncertainty of death being an imminent possibility. Now, however, with Perveti by his side, even if they could pull some transformation out of their pants, it wouldn't result in him losing the opportunity to request Perveti to eliminate him.

In terms of conventional combat strength, Zhang Ge couldn't envision any unit among the Dark Eldar that could bypass Perveti and snatch him away in an instant.

Regarding their dark technology, even with their reckless implementation of ancient Eldar technology against him, they couldn't feasibly employ that kind of capture mechanism—such tech would need continuous use, and while employing ancient Eldar devices, the psychic energy emissions would likely draw in their kind, getting them taken out before Zhang Ge was ever captured.

Thus, his intention became quite clear: once some free time allowed, he would take a group to Komorragh and orchestrate a scenario akin to "I don't eat beef," pushing them into a desperate situation where they would try to kill him at any cost, even resorting to lethal dark technology.

Of course, that was just a backup plan, an alternative.

Yes, an alternative.

As Zhang Ge contemplated, he also thought about how to use the Revenge's Soul, effectively navigating it into the Eldar webway.

Calgar had allied with the Eldar to utilize their ships—to reach this planet, there must be a webway entrance nearby capable of accommodating warships. He could pilot the Revenge's Soul directly into the webway and head to Komorragh. If they managed to kill Zhang Ge, that would be splendid. If they couldn't, he could then traverse through that network to reach the destinations he desired.

It wouldn't matter if he ended up getting led to the wrong place; in fact, the more dangerous, the better. Ideally, he'd like to encounter something savage enough to tear the Queen of Glory to shreds and finish him off... If they could kill him, he would reckon the scores he needed to settle afterward. If not, he could simply turn the ship around and head back to deal with his grievances.

Ultimately, he had nothing to lose; this was the confidence bestowed upon him by being invincible after death.

Might I say, Dark Eldar, do you doubt my resolve?

Yet, to rationally enter Komorragh, Zhang Ge knew he needed suitable reasoning.

With great power comes great responsibility. With the Revenge's Soul and Perveti at his side, he could not bear to have his fellow kind suffer in such an atrocious manner as those in Komorragh; he had to strike hard.

As for being led into dangerous places, for the sake of this noble cause, such minor risks were well within his tolerable range, right?

With that thought, Zhang Ge found himself quite satisfied with his own astounding wisdom.

As he withdrew his hand... Wait, what is she tugging at?

"Xenos, what are you doing?"

Initially signaling for the others to remain unresponsive, Zhang Ge asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Outsider, what have you done?"

Her voice shook slightly, different from her previous humiliation; this tremble seemed more akin to... being so excited she found it difficult to articulate?

"What do you mean, 'done'? Do you aliens have some custom about 'self-harm if touched by outsiders'?"

"No, it's not that! I—I don't feel the gaze? The entanglement? The curse from the Lady of the Hunger? Dammit, your monkey language has no words to describe that feeling! No, I mean—"

Zhang Ge noticed her excitement reached a level where she was practically cursing him. He immediately intended to pull his hand back forcefully; however, she not only tossed her long knife aside with one hand but also gripped his hand with the other, reinforcing her hold instead of letting go:

"Outer being, outsider... Master, please don't pull your hand away! Give me just a little more time!"

Seeing her seemingly delicate hands actually exerting a strength he couldn't escape from made Zhang Ge signal to Perveti.

In the next instant, she moved with such speed that her form was indistinguishable and brutally pried the Eldar Maiden's grip away.

Mercy and compassion were for friends. The other party merely adopted this submissive posture because they needed Zhang Ge, not out of true subservience. He certainly wouldn't change his mind based on her words.

"I don't care what you're feeling, alien pet. If you want a reward, then earn it with your actions."

Zhang Ge was somewhat puzzled by her rapture... Was his resilience to the warp leading to the effect of "not able to sense the Color of Sin" she referred to?

That shouldn't be, for the Eldar would typically go around capturing those who were "untouchable," and even the vacant void of the warp surrounding them should result in discomfort for any living entity.

Or was it some special quality he possessed? He had previously noticed that weapons passing through his hands tended to manifest with greater power, but he hadn't pondered deeply on the matter.

Naturally, he didn't dwell on these thoughts for long; Zhang Ge quickly shifted his focus back to the matter at hand.

Damn it, I made her feel good again.

Zhang Ge had merely pulled his hand back slightly, not far enough to divert his attention from his thoughts, but when he regained awareness, he was astonished to realize that the Eldar Maiden had leaned slightly forward and was now licking her palm with her tongue.
