Chapter 829: Deceptive Acts of the Divine! (2)

The sky was bathed in gentle radiance as clusters of light descended from above, landing on every Beastman participating in the ceremony.

These points of light carried a significant amount of energy, a pure and readily absorbable form of it. Instantly, some weaker Beastmen broke through to new levels of strength, while even the more powerful ones benefited in some way. The Beastmen now held even greater reverence for the divine, each of them kneeling and loudly proclaiming their allegiance to the Lord God.

Such a display might not have impressed the battle-hardened soldiers of Red Alert, but for these sheltered Beastmen, it was nothing short of a miracle!

"Alice, have you discerned anything?" Ju Ling inquired.

Alice's eyes constantly displayed streams of data, and after a few moments, she responded, "There seems to be traces of spatial power, but it's not being harnessed naturally; rather, it's being employed through some instrument to wield spatial power."

In general, most people wouldn't be able to discern such subtle differences, but for Alice, who had access to vast amounts of data, a little analysis made it clear.

In other words, this so-called deity might not possess as much power as they seemed – they were likely utilizing some device capable of generating spatial forces to deceive and perform their divine acts!

With this speculation, they were relieved. As long as it wasn't a Constellation-level Powerhouse, they could handle the situation.

"So, are you saying that all the Beastmen have been deceived?" Li Shaolong remarked with a puzzled expression.

These Beastmen possessed Large Galaxy-level power, and their intelligence should be quite high. It was intriguing that they had been deceived for so many years without realizing it.

He really wanted to investigate who was pretending to be a deity behind the scenes, deceiving so many Beastmen.

"Can you use the spatial power to locate the source?" Alice analyzed further but then shook her head. "The other party is cautious; they severed the spatial power midway, so even a skilled Spatial Powerhouse wouldn't be able to trace it back to its origin."

They all understood that only the weaker would resort to such deceptions. Constellation-level Powerhouses had no need for such tricks.

"Now that we know their 'deity' is a charlatan, we can proceed with discussing our attack plan," Li Shaolong said, spreading out his hands, revealing a Star Map before everyone.

This was the Large Galaxy Star Map of the Beastmen Civilization they had detected. Similar to the human Large Galaxy, the Beastmen's Large Galaxy was a separate star system, surrounded by an endless expanse of interstellar space. To expand into other star domains, they needed to first subdue the Beastmen Civilization.

"There are ten Large Galaxy-level Powerhouses on the enemy's side, and we have five Large Galaxy-level Powerhouses here. Can each of us handle two simultaneously?" Li Shaolong asked.

"These Beastmen's Large Galaxy-level powerhouses are nothing; I can take on a dozen of them alone!" Natasha said confidently.

"Last time, someone boasted, and we almost got into trouble," Tanya teased with a smirk.

Natasha's expression changed. "It wasn't me! I didn't say that! Don't make things up."

They were all Super Soldiers who had undergone Cocoon Evolution, and dealing with same-level Large Galaxy-level opponents was usually a walk in the park. Taking on two at a time was not an impossible feat.

"Very well, the plan is set. We'll handle the Large Galaxy-level opponents, and the rest will be taken care of by the team below," Ju Ling declared.

Soon after, a fleet of Warships accelerated and headed toward the planet in question.

At this moment, in a very dark corner of the planet:

Within a cave nestled deep in the mountains, a Serpentoid with a long, snake-like tongue gazed coldly at a large black gem before him. Unbeknownst to anyone, this Serpentoid was the supposed deity of the Beastmen.

The Beastmen had never had a deity, until this Serpentoid stumbled upon the black gem. To his surprise, he discovered that he could harness the power within the gem, at its peak granting him the strength of a Constellation-level powerhouse with a single strike.

Relying on the energy contained within the gem, his strength skyrocketed. He later found that the gem had a miraculous ability: it could absorb the faith of others and convert it into the purest energy.

Thus, he began to scheme, using the gem's energy to create miracles, suppressing the mightiest Beastmen on the planet in front of countless witnesses. Since then, he had become their deity, receiving the faith of all the Beastmen on the planet.

However, in his pursuit of creating these miracles and subduing the mightiest Beastmen, the gem had expended nearly half of its energy. To this day, it had not fully recovered. He estimated that with the current energy in the gem, he could barely muster power less than that of a Constellation-level powerhouse.

As he continued to use the gem, he discovered its many functions: it could consume energy to manipulate spatial forces, teleport over short distances, and even allow him to instantly move.

He believed that if he patiently bided his time and continued to train with the gem, he would eventually become a Constellation-level existence.

Unfortunately, reality proved harsh.

Suddenly, he felt violent tremors beneath the ground, almost as if there was an earthquake. However, faint and urgent prayers echoed within the gem. This was one of the gem's functions: by having followers, he could hear their prayers.

Previously, he had mostly heard praises and adoration. But this time, the voices were all desperately pleading for help!

"What's happening?" Uncertain of the situation outside, he clenched his teeth and expended the gem's energy to open a view of his temple. This method consumed a significant amount of energy, and he had rarely used it.

This time, there was no choice; something had definitely gone wrong outside!

As he activated the temple's view, he saw beings who looked similar to the Beastmen but lacked fur in many places. They were wielding strange weapons and ruthlessly slaughtering his fellow Beastmen!

"Damned intruders!" the Serpentoid growled.

Those Beastmen were his followers; they provided him with a daily supply of faith that converted into his nourishment. In his eyes, only he had the right to kill them, and no one else.

Just as he was preparing to confront these unwelcome guests, the pleas coming from the gem grew increasingly numerous. He realized that near his temple, the number of these intruders seemed to have increased significantly.

At that moment, he arrived near the cave's entrance, looking up to see an enormous Warship flying overhead. It was larger than the most luxurious airships on their planet, several times larger in fact.

A thought crossed his mind: Were they being invaded by extraterrestrial beings?

On the ground, a relentless tide of Red Alert Empire's steel clashed with the rebellious Beastmen. They killed without mercy, taking no prisoners for the time being. The scent of gunpowder hung heavy in the air.

Several Human Emperors with cold expressions directed their armies to encircle and trap the people below. With the presence of the Map, not a single Beastman would be overlooked!
