Chapter 939: Chapter 876: You Asked for It
Today, the restaurant closed at around eleven o’clock. After everything was tidied up, Han Yunzhong came to Liu Hun and gratefully said, “Liu Hun, thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have known what to do.”
Looking at Han Yunzhong’s appearance, Liu Hun couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Uncle, since Xin’er is my girlfriend, we’re not outsiders anymore, so there’s no need for such formality. Besides, if we really consider it, I bear half of the responsibility for today’s incident; if I hadn’t taught Tan Fei a lesson before, today’s situation wouldn’t have happened.”
“What are you planning to do next?” Han Yunzhong nodded towards Liu Hun, not treating him as an outsider, but instead showing some concern as he asked Liu Hun.
After all, since the incident was publicly revealed by that young man, Tan Fei certainly won’t stop easily after this.
“Let me handle this matter, uncle. You just focus on the restaurant business. However, as for security, it’s essential to manage it well. Also, each kitchen must have surveillance cameras installed, and the footage can be projected inside the restaurant, allowing customers to clearly see how our chefs prepare the dishes. By doing so, we can prevent similar incidents from happening.” Liu Hun reminded Han Yunzhong.
Upon hearing Liu Hun’s words, Han Yunzhong’s eyes suddenly lit up. If they follow Liu Hun’s solution, such incidents can essentially be completely prevented in the future.
Even if someone tries to frame them, they’ll have evidence.
“Liu Hun, you’re really smart. How did I not think of such a method before?” Han Yunzhong enthusiastically slapped his thigh and said, full of excitement.
“This is what is meant by being ‘blind in the situation and clear as an observer.’ From a customer’s perspective, if they can see clearly how the chef is cooking, they’re more reassured about the food they’re eating.” Liu Hun smiled slightly and explained.
Upon hearing Liu Hun’s explanation, Han Yunzhong quickly said to Liu Hun, “If that’s the case, I’ll make a call right now to contact someone I know who can help with this. If we get it installed soon, we can operate peacefully tomorrow. Xin’er, take Liu Hun and Bing’er home, I’ll return later.”
Seeing Han Yunzhong hurriedly turn around and become busy, Liu Hun and Han Xin’er exchanged glances, both with a hint of helplessness in their eyes.
The restaurant is almost half of Han Yunzhong’s life, so naturally, he pays special attention to it.
The three had spent the whole day shopping and were feeling a bit tired, so Han Xin’er didn’t mind letting Liu Hun drive them home.
Upon returning home, Liu Hun prepared some night snacks for the two sisters, and after eating, he apologized to Han Xin’er, saying, “Xin’er, I need to go out for a while. The company has some urgent matters that require my attention, so I might be back a bit late.”
“If you’re busy, just go ahead. Bing’er and I will be fine, but take care of your health and don’t get too exhausted,” Han Xin’er nodded to Liu Hun, then approached him to help adjust his collar.
Her action resembled that of a considerate young wife, and faced with Han Xin’er’s care, a warm feeling surged through Liu Hun’s heart.
The better Han Xin’er treated him, the more Liu Hun felt a bit uncomfortable inside.
After all, he was already involved with Shen Mengyao and Yao Yu. Adding Han Xin’er into the mix was indeed quite unfair to them.
Liu Hun nodded and gently kissed Han Xin’er’s forehead, saying, “If you’re sleepy, go to bed early. No need to wait for me.”
After leaving Han Xin’er’s home, Liu Hun went directly to the parking lot, where he saw Uncle Yun standing by the car door. Liu Hun nodded and then asked Uncle Yun, “How’s the situation going?”
“Tan Fei’s dad has a pharmaceutical company in Huaihai Province, and he even participated in the last bidding for Tianhe Company, but didn’t win. Their entire company’s scale is no more than two hundred million, and they seem to have some connection with Huabei Pharmaceutical. But I can’t uncover the specific details.” Uncle Yun answered Liu Hun apologetically.
Upon hearing this, Liu Hun’s brow furrowed slightly, and he murmured, “Huabei Pharmaceutical… Well, no wonder. With just a small company like theirs, it’s certainly impossible for them to have cultivators; it seems we need to prepare to deal with Huabei Pharmaceutical next.”
“Young master, what about Secretary Liu?” Uncle Yun asked Liu Hun with some concern.
Both Uncle Yun and Liu Hun knew clearly that if they wanted to confront Huabei Pharmaceutical, without Liu Dehai’s support, this matter might be difficult.
Though Wenhua has already allied with him, the cultivators Wenhua possesses were given by Liu Dehai. If Liu Dehai doesn’t support this, he could easily withdraw those cultivators with just one word.
At that time, it would be unrealistic for Liu Hun to fight against Huabei Pharmaceutical; after all, his foundation in Huaihai Province is still too weak.
“Regarding Liu Dehai, I plan to visit him personally tomorrow and probe his thoughts. Even though he came to personally congratulate me yesterday, I don’t believe this old man is unaware of the situation between me and his nephew. Given that, his presence indicates he is at least agreeable to it on the surface; as for his true intentions, I can’t speculate.” Liu Hun took a deep breath and said, some with regret.
Uncle Yun had nothing else to say regarding Liu Hun’s plan and just nodded.
After getting in the car, Liu Hun sat in the front passenger seat, and this time Uncle Yun was the one driving.
Liu Hun gently closed his eyes. After about half an hour, Uncle Yun drove the car to a villa in the suburbs and stopped.
“Private cars are not allowed to park here!” As soon as Uncle Yun parked the car, the security guard in front of the villa walked up and spoke to the two.
Upon hearing this, Uncle Yun glanced at Liu Hun who was resting with his eyes closed. It was then that Liu Hun slowly opened his eyes and calmly looked at the two security guards in front of him, saying, “Please inform Uncle Tan that I’ve come to visit him.”
“May I ask who you are?” Upon hearing Liu Hun say he was here to visit, the two security guards couldn’t help but show a bit of respect on their faces.
After all, someone who could come to visit Tan Guomin surely wasn’t an ordinary person, and such a person was not someone they could afford to offend.
“My name is Liu Hun,” Liu Hun said indifferently.
“Liu… Liu Chair…” The two were momentarily dumbfounded upon hearing this name.
Nowadays, Liu Hun’s name is almost renowned throughout Huaihai Province. And although there’s more than one person with the same name in the vast province, the person visiting Tan Guomin late at night could only be the chairman of Tianhe Company; there’s likely no one else.
“We will inform Chairman Tan right away.” The two security guards were momentarily stunned, then quickly turned around and took out a walkie-talkie to report.
After about five minutes, a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties slowly approached from outside the villa, accompanied by Tan Fei, whose face was red and swollen, giving him a rather miserable appearance.
However, when Tan Fei saw Liu Hun at that moment, his eyes were filled with resentment.
Ignoring Tan Fei’s resentful look, Liu Hun paid him no attention. Such a minor character wasn’t worth his extra glance.
“Director Liu’s late-night visit truly brings honor to my humble abode,” Tan Guomin said with a face full of smiles when he came in front of Liu Hun, his somewhat aged face beaming.
“If Chairman Tan considers this a humble abode, then the place I live isn’t even worth calling one,” Liu Hun said with a slight smile, smiling at Tan Guomin.
“My so-called humble abode surely can’t compare to Director Liu’s. After all, we aren’t on the same level at all. But Director Liu’s sudden visit tonight, is there something you need?” Tan Guomin pretended to know nothing, though he was aware Liu Hun was here to cause trouble; he looked at Liu Hun inquisitively.
In response, Liu Hun laughed, “I’ve long admired Chairman Tan’s great name. I happened to have some time tonight, so I planned to visit. Why, is Chairman Tan not welcoming me?”
“Of course, you’re welcome! But my wife has caught a cold recently. I worry about Director Liu catching it,” Tan Guomin replied, clearly intending not to let Liu Hun in.
“Has Chairman Tan forgotten my profession? I’m a physician, and if Aunt really has caught a cold, perhaps I could be of some help,” Liu Hun continued.
Tan Guomin squinted slightly. Seeing Liu Hun’s determined look, he realized that Liu Hun was not going to leave until he got inside tonight.
And with Liu Hun saying as much, if Tan Guomin still refused to let him in, it would seem unreasonable.
After all, they weren’t in the same league as Liu Hun, and seeing as his son was at fault first, it indeed seemed unreasonable not to let him in.
“There’s no need to treat her. The doctor said it’s just a cold, no big deal. I’m just concerned about Director Liu’s health; but since you’re here, come in for a cup of tea.” Tan Guomin smiled slightly and then stepped aside.
Upon this, Liu Hun nodded and directly walked into the villa with Uncle Yun.
Once inside, Liu Hun sat down on the sofa without hesitation, while Uncle Yun always stood two steps behind him.
“Why don’t you sit down too, old man, and have a cup of tea to moisten your throat?” Seeing Uncle Yun’s stance, Tan Guomin couldn’t help but speak to him.
“Uncle Yun, since our host has invited you, it wouldn’t be polite for us as guests, so it is said that courtesy demands reciprocity.” Liu Hun knew Uncle Yun’s character well, so he persuaded him.
Upon hearing Liu Hun’s words, Uncle Yun hesitated for a moment before sitting beside Liu Hun; whereas Tan Guomin was secretly startled by Liu Hun’s words.
Liu Hun indeed came to cause trouble. Thinking about his son’s foolish act during the day, Tan Guomin wished he could slap him, but things had come to this, he could only play it by ear; after all, this is his home, and there isn’t much Liu Hun could do to them.
