Chapter 1036: Chapter 646: Taking the Fall
“Why are you so angry?” Liu Hun looked at Wu Dao’s expression and couldn’t help but ask softly.
“Liu Hun, aren’t you even a bit angry? We kindly took in that bitch; and what happened? She abandoned us at the most critical moment!” Wu Dao looked at Liu Hun with some anger.
If Liu Hun hadn’t stopped him earlier, he would have helped Liu Hun kill the Poison Queen a long time ago, and things wouldn’t be so troublesome now.
“Do you really think they can pass through this desert safely? Although I don’t know what dangers lie ahead, I can be sure that whatever is in front will definitely kill the Poison Queen!” Liu Hun’s lips curled up slightly, and even his voice carried a cold undertone.
“How do you know?” This time, Wu Dao put away his anger and looked at Liu Hun with some surprise.
“Because my intuition tells me, there’s something even more dangerous waiting for us ahead!” Liu Hun’s eyes flickered, and it was unclear what he was thinking about at that moment.
This time, however, Wu Dao didn’t have a bit of doubt about Liu Hun’s words, and his gaze carried a curious look as he watched Liu Hun.
Since he met Liu Hun, although the time hasn’t been long, Wu Dao’s impression is that the more he interacts with this guy, the more his curiosity is aroused.
The reason is simply that this guy is full of mysteries, always making people unconsciously want to delve deeper and unravel all these mysteries.
Many of Liu Hun’s women are like this, and now Wu Dao is like this too, although Wu Dao is different from those women of Liu Hun, this will eventually develop into a life-and-death brotherhood.
“So what do we do now? These things simply can’t be killed, if we keep going like this, we’ll be worn down by them!” Wu Dao temporarily put aside the issue of the Poison Queen with a slightly anxious expression and asked Liu Hun.
“What do you think we should do? I’m not omnipotent, these things simply can’t be killed…” Liu Hun answered Wu Dao with some frustration.
This guy seems to have developed a habit of asking him about everything.
“Why not try using some of your Bloodline Power? Maybe it could have some effect?” Wu Dao asked Liu Hun in a tentative tone.
Upon hearing this, a few black lines appeared on Liu Hun’s forehead, but he couldn’t deny that Wu Dao’s suggestion might be a solution.
After all, his body and bloodline have mutated; who knows what might happen when facing those Death’s Eyes now.
And at that time, if it weren’t for Liu Hun’s Bloodline Power, the two of them might have died in that jungle.
“I’ll give it a try, if it doesn’t work, then there’s only one other solution.” Liu Hun took a deep breath, and as soon as he finished speaking, he flipped his hand, and a Dagger appeared in his palm, then he sliced open a wound on his finger.
When the Dagger was covered in his blood, Liu Hun moved swiftly, heading straight toward one of the Silver Skulls and slashing fiercely at it.
“Clang!” As soon as the Dagger touched the Silver Skull, a clear sound erupted in the air.
Next, a gust of wind rushed towards Liu Hun. Seeing this, Liu Hun lifted his leg and kicked fiercely at the Silver Skull in front of him.
With this kick, the Silver Skull didn’t react at all, on the contrary, Liu Hun’s body was sent flying backward.
“Bang!” A soft sound echoed as Liu Hun’s body slammed into the yellow sand, looking at the Silver Skull ahead that showed no changes, Liu Hun’s face turned slightly pale.
“Damn, even the Bloodline Power is useless!” Wu Dao, watching the situation unfold, cursed out loud.
After a pause, Wu Dao recalled what Liu Hun had just mentioned, and with a hopeful expression, asked Liu Hun: “Brother Liu, didn’t you say there was another way? What is it?”
“Run away!” With that, Liu Hun flipped up from the ground and rushed forward swiftly.
The more Silver Skulls they killed, the tougher they got. They had no option but to flee, and Liu Hun had already carefully observed that while these Skulls can’t be killed, their movements were a bit sluggish.
With so many Skulls encircling them, as long as they moved quickly, they should be able to escape without too many problems.
Hearing Liu Hun’s words, Wu Dao was momentarily stunned, but quickly caught on. Seeing that Liu Hun had already dashed a distance away, Wu Dao followed swiftly, not forgetting to shout at Liu Hun: “Brother Liu, next time can you tell me everything at once, this really scares people!”
Liu Hun had no time to respond to Wu Dao; his Dagger continuously landed on the Silver Skulls around them, and with Wu Dao joining in, his pressure was greatly reduced.
After about ten minutes, the two finally broke through the encirclement. When they stopped and looked back, in the endless yellow sands, there was nothing but sand.
It was as if those Skulls from before had been no more than a fleeting illusion.
“Fortunately, those Skulls didn’t continue chasing us, otherwise, it would have been troublesome,” Wu Dao exhaled two deep breaths of fresh air and said with a lingering fear.
“Hurry up, let’s keep moving. Who knows what else could be out here? If those skeletons catch up to us, we won’t even have a place to cry,” Liu Hun gasped for breath and reminded Wu Dao.
“Brother Liu, wait for me. We both put in so much effort just now. At least let me catch my breath,” Wu Dao said as he saw Liu Hun ignoring him, continuing to walk ahead.
Wu Dao didn’t hesitate further and quickly followed suit.
Although he wanted to rest, the terrifying thought of those skeletons drove him to abandon the idea. After all, his life was most important.
The two walked through the endless sands for about half an hour when suddenly, Wu Dao saw Liu Hun stop ahead. Confused, Wu Dao asked Liu Hun, “Brother Liu, why did you suddenly stop? Is it time for us to rest now?”
Constantly on the move, Wu Dao was quite tired, and he had been hoping for a break. But since Liu Hun hadn’t mentioned it, he thought it best not to speak up.
“Now we can take a moment to rest, and we might even catch a good show; let’s go.” Liu Hun smiled and looked at the dune ahead, then started walking forward.
Hearing Liu Hun’s words, Wu Dao was bewildered, having no clue what Liu Hun meant.
When they reached the dune, they gazed at the flat ravine ahead with amazement.
The ravine had formed over years, blown clear by the strong winds, and at this moment, there stood the Poison Queen and her group.
In front of the Poison Queen were several massive pythons, their thickness about the size of a barrel. What was most shocking was that these pythons were entirely formed of yellow sand.
“Haha, Brother Liu, you were right. That woman thought she could cross this desert by abandoning us, but they ended up avoiding a danger for us,” Wu Dao couldn’t help but laugh loudly at the sight of the battle in the distance.
“In such a treacherous place, being brave enough to move forward alone indeed shows some courage,” Liu Hun smacked his lips, watching the scene with interest.
“Poison Queen, how does it feel?” Wu Dao didn’t respond to Liu Hun but instead shouted to the Poison Queen and her group in the ravine.
As Wu Dao’s words rang out, the Poison Queen and her people looked towards Liu Hun and Wu Dao’s location. Seeing the two unharmed, the Poison Queen’s expression changed slightly.
She didn’t expect Liu Hun and Wu Dao to make it out alive from the skeletons, and most importantly, for them to witness their dire predicament.
But realizing the terror of the Yellow Sand Pythons, the Poison Queen gritted her teeth and shouted to the two, “If we don’t work together, we will all die here. These Yellow Sand Pythons can’t be killed… Ah…”
Before the Poison Queen could finish, one of her subordinates was careless and got bitten by one of the pythons.
In an instant, the subordinate was bitten in half, a testament to the horror of the Yellow Sand Pythons.
“What… what kind of monster is this? How can it be this terrifying?” Watching this, Wu Dao’s face turned pale as he spoke to Liu Hun.
“I fear that in this desert, anything we encounter is of an undead type, and whether it’s the skeletons before or the Yellow Sand Pythons now, they are incredibly terrifying,” Liu Hun replied with a serious tone.
“What should we do now?” Wu Dao asked in fear.
Though he came from a prominent family, in the face of life and death, he was still afraid.
“Why are you just standing there? Hurry up and help us. If we all die here, you won’t make it out either!” The Poison Queen was anxious seeing the two on the dune not moving.
Hearing the Poison Queen’s words, Liu Hun took a deep breath and smirked coldly at her group, “Since you abandoned us before, you should now experience what it’s like to be abandoned. Whether you survive depends on your fate and luck.”
After speaking, Liu Hun turned away, heading off without looking back.
Watching Liu Hun and Wu Dao leave without turning back, the Poison Queen’s face darkened considerably.
She never imagined that Liu Hun and Wu Dao would truly abandon them at this moment. Though she felt the urge to kill the two, she understood that if they didn’t overcome the current crisis, they were doomed.
“Brother Liu, what should we do next? Although this time we have the Poison Queen to take the fall, I am worried…” As they walked down the dune and continued forward, Wu Dao asked Liu Hun with concern.
“It’s not worry but an inevitability. We are now completely lost in this desert. I thought the direction was right earlier, but now look at the sun in the sky; according to our previous path, the sun should be in the northeast, but now it’s in the southwest.” Liu Hun paused here.
Before Wu Dao could speak, Liu Hun continued, “We can’t go back now, especially with those skeletons still back there. If we go back, it will be difficult to escape, given we’ve already killed so many skeletons, which could merge into more Silver Skulls.”
“Then what do we do now?” Wu Dao was bewildered by Liu Hun’s words.
“We have to keep moving forward, and ahead, there might be more Yellow Sand Pythons. If you look closely, aren’t there a lot of dunes in that area? It reminds me of an ancient book I once read about a Death Desert; the two things described in that book have already appeared.” At this, Liu Hun gently closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
