A second ago, Gavin Graves thought Cherry was going to reconcile with him.

After a pause, he said, “This shirt can’t be washed.”

Cherry grumbled unwillingly, “Why should I pay him? He touched my chest and I haven’t asked him for money yet!”

The Augustus parents were dumbfounded.

Since it was all soft furnishing, there was no noise pollution. These people worked all night, turning Gavin’s part of the apartment building into a “golden nest.”
Cherry couldn’t sleep that night; she tossed and turned in bed, very concerned about the progress next door.
