Chapter 1830 - 1823: Fearless?

Chapter 1830: Chapter 1823: Fearless?

"Damn it!" As soon as Ah Fu heard Abeng’s words, he was furious. He stretched out his muscular arm, almost bursting with rage, and reached towards him!

In front of Ah Fu’s massive build, the childlike Abeng appeared just like a ragdoll, both at extreme opposites of size. But being small had its advantages, and seeing Ah Fu about to rough him up, Abeng darted into the crowd like a monkey, leaving Ah Fu helpless.

"Get the hell out here!"

"I’ll go back and tell the Khan that you don’t like the name he gave you!"

Abeng’s mocking voice rang out from somewhere in the crowd, inciting even more fury from Ah Fu!

"F*ck!" he roared, trying to push through the crowd to forcibly grab Abeng, but was stopped by the hideous-faced Dong Wenlu.

"Brother Hu, Brother Hu, let’s hold back for now, we’ll deal with that kid later when we get back."

This bizarre scene caused Jiang Zhenbo to frown. This Brother Hu, doesn’t seem very calm, does he?

He was puzzled. The bloodthirsty aura on Brother Hu didn’t resemble that of a zombie, while that little brat just had the aura of a normal person, a zombie... what’s going on here with the Royal Court?

Why is it reversed with zombies and humans? Shouldn’t zombies be more aggressive?

What he didn’t know was that the so-called New Human "Brother Hu," was actually a zombie just like Abeng!

Under Dong Wenlu’s persuasion, Ah Fu could only give up with a cold snort.

He felt displeased, not knowing when the once-fearful Abeng dared to tease him?

But he soon figured it out, glancing at the others, it was these guys! They’ve led me astray, even broke my character!

Turning back to Jiang Zhenbo, he restored his previous expression: "Just an accident earlier, don’t mind."

"Not at all, not at all." Jiang Zhenbo quickly shook his head, his face showing a flattering expression, and then asked, "What’s the next instruction you have for us?"

Ah Fu surveyed the area, seeing nearly two hundred soldiers behind Jiang Zhenbo. The people on the surrounding streets had long been driven away, and those soldiers naturally occupied the sidewalks and roads.

"Do you have any clues about the culprit who destroyed the laboratory?"

"Well...no," Jiang Zhenbo shook his head. If they had clues, the Royal Court wouldn’t need to get involved.

"No? In that case, we will have to find them all," Ah Fu muttered while shaking his massive head, and Jiang Zhenbo heard him clearly. Having survived to this point, he was an old hand and immediately caught the other meaning in Ah Fu’s words.

"All... find them all? Do you mean there are many zombies in the Cloud Gorge Base?"

"Hmm? You don’t know, oh right, you’re humans, can’t sense it. Let me put it this way, there are quite a few zombies around here, some bunched up together; if all are released, it could form a small-scale horde," he explained.

"This... this many?" Jiang Zhenbo was shocked at the answer from Ah Fu.

"What’s so surprising? Aren’t we here? We don’t do large numbers. If it comes to catching zombies, none dare claim to be first if we say we’re second!"

"Is that so... What should we do then?"

"According to our original plan, we were going to split into eight groups to find those hidden zombies, but now with you joining... no, no." Initially thinking of changing plans, Ah Fu suddenly dismissed the idea.

"What’s wrong?"

"There are still several Level 8 zombies in your Cloud Gorge Base; unavoidable battles later on, more people are better, can kill them faster. Otherwise, if more of your buildings get destroyed, your Su Sigui might suspect we’re up to no good with the Cloud Gorge Base again." At this point, Ah Fu discontentedly snorted, glaring sharply at Jiang Zhenbo, deliberately pointing out his supervision of them.

But unexpectedly, the guy paused, face looking strange as he reminded, "Brother Hu, I understand you, but let me remind you, the Mayor is a Level 9 New Human now. If she gets pissed and decides to kill you, no one can stop her!"

"Now, all the notable Level 8 New Humans across China are afraid enough to swear allegiance to the Mayor, seventy-some Level 8 New Humans! Originally unknown to her, and now all locked in the Emperor Tower basement!"

Jiang Zhenbo’s expression was sincere, seemingly genuinely considering for Ah Fu and his group, so he reminded them.

His reaction somewhat surprised Ah Fu and his crew, but they didn’t think much of it, with Ah Fu snorting again, proudly stating, "You’re scared, but that doesn’t mean our Royal Court is!"

"Brother Hu..." Jiang Zhenbo’s face turned stiff at Ah Fu’s words. Living in Cloud Gorge Base for over ten years, this statement by Ah Fu wasn’t about calmness; to be blunt, it was kind of stupid!

He suspected Ah Fu didn’t understand how powerful Level 9s were!

Otherwise, he wouldn’t say such a thing!

If this were in ancient times, it’d be like criticizing the Emperor in front of the royal family; if the Emperor found out, nine generations would sing "Thank You for Your Grace."

Ultimately, Jiang Zhenbo compromised; after all, Ah Fu’s group was stronger than him. If you’re stronger than me, then whatever you say makes sense, and I won’t talk back.

That’s an experience he’d learned from struggling in the post-apocalyptic world, don’t try reasoning with someone whose fists are bigger than yours.

"Yes, yes, yes..."

"Stick to our original plan, eight groups in total, you guys get into teams, Jiang Zhenbo?"

"Here."

"Distribute your men evenly, let’s go."

It didn’t take long; Ah Fu’s group from the Royal Court and a bunch of soldiers formed into eight groups, heading in different directions. Seeing the numbers in other groups about even, Jiang Zhenbo, with no better choice, opted to join Ah Fu’s group.

They didn’t immediately act against the Level 8 zombies hidden in Cloud Gorge Base, instead starting with the weakest first. Jiang Zhenbo was tactful, continuously flattering Ah Fu along the way, every "Brother Hu" more sincere and respectful than any, making Ah Fu increasingly fond of him.

The population inside Cloud Gorge Base was almost exploding. Upon entering lively areas, heads swarmed densely on the streets. Fortunately, with soldiers clearing the path, no matter how crowded, people dared not linger even a second under the command of soldiers wearing exoskeleton suits, forcefully squeezing to make way.

At the back, Jiang Zhenbo engaged Ah Fu in pleasant conversation. Just then, Jiang Zhenbo seemed to notice something, flatteringly saying to Ah Fu, "Brother Hu, please wait here for a moment."

"What are you up to?" Curious at his mysterious demeanor, Ah Fu asked.

"You’ll see soon. This thing isn’t something just anyone can enjoy. I’ll be right back." Saying this, Jiang Zhenbo headed towards a tobacco and liquor store.
