Chapter 1245: Chapter 1245: Don’t Steal My Brother Xu (4)
On the way to the Ruan Family restaurant, Ruan Jiaojiao was helping to navigate while chatting with Duan Qianyang.
Duan Qianyang was a very talkative person, humorous and witty, especially his attitude when chatting with people made others feel extremely comfortable.
Even though Ruan Jiaojiao was just a child, he would seriously listen to her, and whenever she said something funny, he would chuckle softly along, giving a sense of comfort and accomplishment.
Anyway, Ruan Jiaojiao quite liked talking to him, her little mouth never stopped all the way.
Xiu Xi remained somewhat silent; sometimes Duan Qianyang would initiate a conversation with him, but he didn’t say much, even just coldly glanced at Duan Qianyang without any intention to respond, forcing Ruan Jiaojiao to answer for him to keep the atmosphere from becoming awkward.
However, every time after this happened, Xiu Xi’s reaction became colder, which Ruan Jiaojiao didn’t notice, but Duan Qianyang did, and he could only smile helplessly, surprised that his son had developed such a possessive nature.
The school was in a relatively suburban area, and it took about twenty minutes or so by car to get to the city center. It was now past seven, and dinner time wasn’t over yet. When they arrived at the restaurant, there were still quite a few people inside.
A waiter was standing at the entrance, and upon seeing Ruan Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi approaching, recognizing them as the owner’s children, she immediately greeted them with a smile, thinking they were looking for the owner, she said, "Is Miss Jiaojiao here to see the boss? But he left around six o’clock."
"No, Sister Yan, I’m bringing someone for dinner. Does the restaurant still have ingredients for the signature dishes?" Ruan Jiaojiao asked, leading Duan Qianyang towards the inner private rooms.
The waiter glanced at Duan Qianyang. Having worked at the Ruan Family restaurant for several years, she had an eye for assessing people. Just by looking at Duan Qianyang’s aura, she knew he wasn’t of ordinary status, and quickly said, "Yes, we do."
"Okay, could you make some tea for us first? Uncle Duan likes what kind of tea? We have Longjing, Tieguanyin, Pu’er. What does Uncle Duan prefer?"
"Pu’er, please." Duan Qianyang watched her bustling around like a little grown-up, familiar with the place, and smiled.
"Alright." Ruan Jiaojiao nodded and, while Duan Qianyang wasn’t paying attention, tugged at the waiter’s sleeve and whispered, "Sister Yan, please take the Pu’er my dad kept and brew a pot for us."
Ruan Jianguo was a rough sort, not good at drinking or appreciating tea, but as the restaurant grew and more customers came, many of whom were people of status, Ruan Jianguo stored some finer tea leaves specifically to entertain these distinguished guests.
The waiter nodded and went to brew tea for them first. Ruan Jiaojiao casually picked up a menu from a table and took it into the private room; once inside, she handed the menu to Duan Qianyang and started introducing the restaurant’s signature dishes.
Duan Qianyang was just hoping to spend more time with them; he wasn’t particular about the food, so under Ruan Jiaojiao’s introduction, he casually ordered a few items. A few minutes later, the tea that the waiter brewed was brought in.
Ruan Jiaojiao wanted to help pour tea for Duan Qianyang, but the tea was quite hot, and Xiu Xi couldn’t bear to let her handle it, immediately standing up to help.
Now Duan Qianyang drank the tea his son poured personally, and his smile widened significantly.
"Jiaojiao is so thoughtful; she must be quite popular with the boys at school, right?" Duan Qianyang aimed this question at Ruan Jiaojiao, but it inadvertently fell onto Xiu Xi, because he found that to elicit a response from Xiu Xi, he had to tease Ruan Jiaojiao.
