Chapter 815: Chapter 551: The Captain’s Move
"What do you mean by the Peach Blossom Debt I caused?" Zhou Mikang looked at his young wife, speechless. "Do you think I would do such a thing?"
"Then why are you nervous?"
"I’m not nervous."
Chuxia looked at him seriously: "You are nervous. I sensed it."
Zhou Mikang had no choice but to say helplessly, "Okay, I’m nervous. Actually, I am worried you’ll misunderstand. The granddaughter of the chief Zhao Qiliang mentioned is this woman. I must emphasize again, I never even took a proper look at her."
"You’re just lying..." Chuxia looked at him with contempt. "If you never took a proper look at her, how could you recognize her as the chief’s granddaughter immediately?"
Zhou Mikang: "..." Sure enough, promises shouldn’t be made lightly. Later, he definitely needs to settle accounts with Zhou Hanliang; what kind of stupid strategy did he teach!
"No words left, huh?" Chuxia raised her eyebrows, "I guessed she’s here waiting for you or came here on purpose to show off in front of me. Isn’t it said that people of this era are reserved and modest? Why are the ones you encounter like this?"
"In your words, maybe my aura is off, causing such people to be attracted."
"You do have quite enough self-awareness. Alright, I understand. Don’t worry, no matter what she does, I won’t be angry or jealous."
Zhou Mikang’s lips curled into a smile: "You trust me that much?"
"It’s not about trusting you; it’s about my self-confidence..." Chuxia said confidently, "You wouldn’t like such shallow women as her; I know you well enough for this."
"Alright, I’ll take that as a compliment." Zhou Mikang started the car, shifted gears, and moved forward, "I can handle it myself; I don’t need you to step in. I’m just letting you have a mental preparation."
As the car drove to the entrance, the girl quickly blocked the front of the vehicle. Apparently, she knew Zhou Mikang’s license plate number and was aware of his whereabouts; otherwise, she wouldn’t be waiting at the entrance.
Zhou Mikang didn’t even glance at her and continued driving forward. When the car was a fist away from the girl, he suddenly swerved to the side, brushing past her body and driving into the hospital.
Chuxia was frightened into a cold sweat: "Should I say she’s bold or crazy? Zhou Mikang, I’m now really questioning your constitution; why do you always attract these neurotic girls?"
"Didn’t I attract you?" Zhou Mikang asked.
"Our attraction is normal; your attraction with these people is abnormal. To put it bluntly, your pursuit of me and their pursuit of you are two completely different things."
"Simply put, the girls attracted to me are definitely not just these few, and they appear before you precisely because their personalities have such adventurous elements. Otherwise, such matters would only remain hidden in their hearts, right?"
"You’re right," Chuxia nodded. "Did you firmly reject her before?"
"Of course. I said, I never even looked at her properly. If her mind was sane, she shouldn’t appear here again," Zhou Mikang sighed. "Being too excellent isn’t actually a good thing."
Chuxia: "..."
When they got out of the car, the girl waiting at the entrance parked her car next to them and poked her head out, shouting to Zhou Mikang, "Commander Zhou, it’s me!"
Zhou Mikang looked at her indifferently: "Is there something you need?"
"I miss you, so I came to see you." The woman got out of the car, ignoring Chuxia, "Commander Zhou, you’re really a bad friend. We agreed to keep in touch regularly, but if I didn’t come, would you have forgotten about me?"
"This is my wife Lin Chuxia. Saying such things with my wife around, what are your intentions?" Zhou Mikang looked at her expressionlessly, "I’ll repeat one more time; if you say any nonsense in front of me again, don’t blame me for being rude."
The girl’s face quickly turned red: "Zhou Mikang, there aren’t many men whom Su Jiaohong considers worthy; it’s your luck, do you know that?"
"Chuxia, go to work. I’ll join you for lunch at noon." Zhou Mikang kissed Chuxia lightly on the forehead, his eyes full of affection, "Call me if you need anything."
"Alright," Chuxia answered and turned to walk toward the hospital.
"Do you think showing your affection in front of me would make me retreat?" Su Jiaohong sneered, "I tell you, what I like has never been something I can’t get, including people!"
"Disgusting!" Zhou Mikang said as he stepped into the car and quickly started it, pulling away, while Su Jiaohong stomped her feet, hurrying into her car and chasing after him.
"This woman is not generally aggressive," Luo Xiaoqiong sighed while watching through the glass door of the hospital lobby, "Encountering someone so shameless, have you thought about what to do?"
"Is this something I need to worry about?" Chuxia smiled and patted her cheek, "Go do your work. After the New Year, you’ll be leaving the hospital. Aren’t you going to cherish the remaining days?"
"Director Xu has already handed over all the work, so I’m basically free now," Luo Xiaoqiong followed her closely, "Be honest with me, are you really not worried?"
"Sister, is there any need for me to lie to you?" Chuxia looked at her helplessly, "Or do you think that woman just now even deserves me making a fuss?"
"True," Luo Xiaoqiong nodded, "Someone like Huang Suai might still count as a competitor, but someone like earlier really poses no threat. Fine, I’m truly worried for no reason, you get busy, I’m heading back to the office."
Chuxia thought Su Jiaohong would come to talk to her, but after a busy day, she didn’t see Su Jiaohong at all. When Zhou Mikang arrived as promised to have lunch with her, she didn’t see Su Jiaohong then either.
Having previously said she didn’t care, she felt embarrassed to ask Zhou Mikang about Su Jiaohong. But by the evening, when heading home, she couldn’t help but voice her doubt: "Why didn’t Su Jiaohong continue bothering you?"
"From the looks of it, you seem quite eager for a woman to keep bothering me?" Zhou Mikang looked at his young wife, speechless, "Can you act a bit more normally?"
"I’m acting quite normal," Chuxia looked at him seriously, "If I’m asking you now, it means I do care about this matter. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be asking, right?"
Zhou Mikang said casually, "Well, I crashed her car; her lower leg is broken."
"Oh." Chuxia responded, then realized the meaning behind his words, her eyes suddenly widening, "You... what did you say?"
"Her car was asking for it; it insisted on crashing into mine. What could I do? The leg fracture was accidental; I’m not that bad." This sentence came from Zhou Mikang’s mouth as if he was just casually talking about what he had for lunch.
