Chapter 535: Ivette
"Yum, yum! How delicious!" — The twins were talking as they ate Arabelle’s breakfast. Across from them sat Essora’s younger brother, Sora, and he also kept up with them.
The adults didn’t devour their food as hastily and greedily as these three children.
"By the way, Mistress, where’s the Master?" asked Hailey, noticing that Idan had not been seen since morning.
"Dan went to the wildlands to hunt evolved Beasts," Arabel replied.
"Oh, really?" Hailey’s eyes lit up. She immediately remembered that Idan and Arabel wanted to create the first wave of beast tamers, and understood why Idan had gone to the wildlands.
"Can I join him?" she asked hopefully.
"Ask Dan when he’ll be back in the evening, and if he doesn’t mind, then you can join," Arabel replied, seeing Hailey’s desire and knowing about her second nature.
Arabel looked at Hailey’s head and did not find yesterday’s black horns and scarlet scales on her body.
Hailey, of course, was very happy to hear that. She couldn’t wait to go to the wild lands to fight the beasts.
Arabel, Hailey, the twins, Edgar, Essora and her younger brother, as well as Milla, were gathered at a large table.
Arabel still didn’t know Irene and Idan’s mother, so she didn’t invite her to breakfast with strangers. Instead, she decided to bring her food after she was done here.
The latter quietly and silently ate the food offered to her, feeling out of place among others.
Edgar, on the other hand, tried not to look up at Arabel. One look was enough to realize how beautiful she was, but he didn’t want to risk his life. The warning words of the girl named Hailey were still ringing in his ears.:
"If you value your life, then try not to look at the mistress of this house."
Yesterday, they explained to him in detail who the owners of this house are. For her younger sisters, the information probably passed by their ears, but for him it turned out to be very significant.
"How do you like breakfast? Did you like it?" Arabel asked, addressing everyone present.
"Very, very tasty!" the twins said in unison.
"As always, mistress, your cooking is excellent," — praised Hailey.
"It’s really delicious," said Essora, and Milla nodded in agreement.
Arabel was very flattered by the praise.
"Well, little beauties, do you want to learn how to cook like this?" She addressed the twins instead of Edgar.
"Yes, yes, we do!" Ashley nodded enthusiastically, and her older sister Emily, although she was more restrained, was also eager to learn how to cook just as well.
"What do you think, Edgar?" asked Arabel, turning her attention from the girls to their older brother.
"What exactly do you want us to help you with? Cooking?" said Edgar.
"Yes, that’s right," Arabel confirmed and shared her plan.
Of course, Arabel’s words sounded confident, and Edgar, like the others, was carried away by her ideas. But Edgar himself had some doubts. He was not a cook and was only involved in cooking because of the necessity of the current situation. Most of the work was done by his younger sisters.
He looked at his lovely sisters and, seeing their sincere desire, decided to try and agreed.
"Okay, I agree, but please don’t be disappointed if I fail, because I’m not a very good cook," Edgar immediately warned.
"I give you my word," Arabel replied happily, not hiding her sincere joy at the opportunity to gain the first followers in her plan to spread the cuisine of the new world.
In truth, she only wanted two little girls, but since they were so close to Edgar and loved him so much, Arabel did not object to his involvement.
"Who knows, maybe he has a real talent for cooking, which is just waiting in the wings to reveal itself?" mused Arabel. "But even if it’s not, it’s not that important."
After finishing breakfast, Arabel took the food to Irene and Idan’s mother on the second floor. After knocking on the bedroom door, she waited with some excitement for it to be opened.
Arabel did not put on the Ghost mask, deciding to appear in front of Idan’s mother in her true form. She was very worried whether the woman would recognize her or not.
"Wait a bit," a voice was heard outside the door, and after a couple of seconds the door opened. Arabel saw a middle-aged woman with short black hair and brown eyes like Idan’s.
She really is Idan’s mother, Arabel thought immediately, noticing the woman’s obvious resemblance to Idan.
"Ah," Irene’s mother gasped when she saw a red—haired beauty with azure eyes holding a tray of food in front of her. For a moment, she was mesmerized by her beauty.
"Ah, I’m sorry," she said, recovering quickly.
"It’s okay, Miss Ivette. I brought you breakfast," Arabel replied, trying to hide her excitement.
Ivette looked at the tray in the hands of a beautiful stranger in surprise, and the pleasant aroma of food hit her nose. The smell immediately made her stomach rumble, and she was slightly embarrassed.
"Thank you very much," she said, accepting the tray. She was very hungry, because unlike Arabel and the other Awakened Ones, she, an ordinary mortal woman, needed to eat in order to maintain her life.
"Do we know each other?" Ivette asked, feeling that Arabel seemed a little familiar to her, as if she had seen her before.
After Arabel woke up, she changed a lot and became even more beautiful, so it was not surprising that Ivette did not recognize her immediately, but only felt a certain connection.
"Yes, we met once," Arabel confessed, without revealing her identity. If she had given her name, Ivette would have immediately remembered that her son Idan had disappeared with her.
For some reason, Idan was in no hurry to reveal himself and did not want his mother to find out about his return. Arabel, understanding his feelings, did not seek to be the one to break the news to her.
After Arabel handed over the breakfast, she hurried away to prevent Ivette from asking her any more questions.
For today, Arabel’s first acquaintance with her future possible mother-in-law was enough.
It wasn’t until she reached the ground floor that she breathed a sigh of relief. Then, having found Hailey and taken her with her, she opened the Access Portal and returned back to the hotel.
