Chapter 386: Tamisra Night
"Let’s make a deal," the woman suggested. "Tell me where the heir is, or bring him back, and I won’t block your way. On the contrary, I will share with you the information you need."
Such an unexpected suggestion caught Idan off guard.
Realizing his mistake, he quickly pulled himself together. To his relief, the woman in front of him didn’t take advantage of his momentary confusion.
She was surprisingly calm as she waited for his reaction and response.
"Boo boo boo," Rizzy cooed, finishing drinking the blood and reaching for Idan.
Idan, distracted by this, looked at her with concern. In order not to put her in danger anymore, he decided to bring Rizzy back inside his second Star.
"Go back and rest," Idan said calmly. The little girl reluctantly, but still reached out to him with her hands and, turning into particles of light, entered his body.
Idan took his time answering, trying to buy as much time as possible for Arabel and for himself. He examined the woman carefully. In beauty and appearance, she was very similar to Erza. If it weren’t for the noticeable differences in her facial features, Idan might have mistaken her for Erza’s twin.
"Well, do you like what you see?" The woman asked with a smile, noticing how Idan was studying her intently.
«...»
Idan initially wanted to make a compliment, but quickly stopped.
He almost forgot that this was not an Earth woman, but a representative of a completely different race. And as he found out, this race consists only of women.
Not knowing how this woman would react to his compliment or criticism, Idan decided to remain silent. He was afraid that she would misunderstand his words.
From the very beginning, the woman remained calm and restrained, but even she began to get annoyed by Idan’s silence.
"Phew," she sighed, as if giving up. Then her gaze became serious and piercing. The surrounding environment began to change.
"If you don’t want to negotiate, then..." she began.
"Wait, wait, — Idan interrupted her before she could finish. His heart started beating faster when he saw how the woman was going to act.
His basic stats were still limited by half, and he couldn’t stand up to her.
"Let’s calm down and start over," Idan suggested, trying to hide his concern. "My name is Ethan, Ethan Goldwing."
"Hmm," the woman chuckled, her gaze expressing displeasure. However, her mood and presence soon changed, and she became calm again, as before. Her gaze became a little cheerful and curious again, like before when she looked at Rizzy.
Such a rapid change in the woman’s mood scared Idan very much.
"Tamisra," the woman introduced herself. "Tamisra Night."
"Miss Tamisra, may I ask why you need this deal?" Idan ventured, fearing that if he remained silent again, Tamisra would take action.
Instead of answering, Tamisra asked a question:
"So you have an heir?"
As if knowing that Idan would again remain silent and would not confirm that he had an heir, Tamisra continued:
"Do you know who he is? And who are his parents?"
"Yes, he’s the son of the ruler of the Dark Beast Territory," of course Idan knew that.
"And? What else do you know about his parents? No, what do you know about his mother?" Tamisra asked with a smile, leaning over a little.
Idan didn’t know the answer to that question, and seeing the smile on Tamisra’s face sent a shiver down Idan’s spine.
"Hmm... a dragon? A creature of the sixth rank?" added Idan, making an assumption about the race, since the heir was a Dark Dragon.
"Is that all?" she asked.
"Yes, that’s it," Idan nodded.
"You’re right. The ruler of the Dark Beast Territory is a sixth—rank Dark Dragon," Tamisra confirmed. "Like our Queen, she is the only sixth—rank being and a tyrant in her territory."
"I don’t know about you, but in this world, the stronger you are, the harder it is to have offspring. As a sixth-rank being, the ruler of the Dark Beast Territory had been trying to have a child for many years. Rumor has it that she managed to sleep with all the dragons and Beasts of the fifth rank in the hope of conceiving. And, in the end, she somehow succeeded, and she gave birth to her only son."
"Since the birth of her only son, she has protected him as the most precious treasure. No one dared to even look at him with disdain, and when he grew up, no one could deny him his desires. If he paid attention to any woman, she had to voluntarily share a bed with him and enjoy his attention. Otherwise, his mother would personally destroy that woman’s entire clan."
The more Idan listened to Tamisra’s stories about the heir’s mother, the paler he became, remembering what Arabel had done to him.
"All these years, the heir lived in his mother’s territory under constant supervision. And so, when he finally left her domain and came here, he was abducted."
While Tamisra was saying this, Idan remembered about the heir’s condition. After hearing Tamisra’s words about the heir’s mother, he was finally convinced that they had become sworn enemies of another Rank 6 creature.
The abduction itself already made them the target of the heir’s mother. And if she found out that Arabel had turned his third leg into a bloody mess, Idan couldn’t even imagine what she would do.
Then it dawned on him what he had been ignoring all this time. And instead of being scared, a smile appeared on his face.
Tamisra, who expected to see fear and anxiety on the guy’s face, was surprised to see the exact opposite picture.
The guy was smiling.
"Miss Tamisra, what do you want to achieve by sharing this information with me?" asked Idan, still smiling. "Do you think that I will be afraid of the heir’s mother and bring him back?"
Now it was Tamisra’s turn to stay silent and listen to what Idan was going to say.
"You just said yourself that she loves her son very much and won’t forgive anyone who even looks at him askance. And as you know, we kidnapped him. A creature of the Golden rank was abducted, and as you should understand, he did not follow us as the obedient son of a creature of the sixth rank. We had to use force," as he spoke, a sly smile appeared on Idan’s face, like a third—rate villain.
"So, whether we bring him back or not, we’ll still become her sworn enemies, — Idan concluded. Then he looked Tamisra straight in the eye and asked, "Tell me, Miss Tamisra, what’s the point of bringing him back? Wouldn’t it be better if we just kill him and provoke his mother’s anger not only at us, but also at you? After all, he was abducted not in his native territory, but in yours."
