Chapter 306: An Online Stir For Breakfast

Chapter 306: An Online Stir For Breakfast

Unfazed, Brooke responded, "Is that so? You should’ve told me sooner." She turned around and made for the exit, completely unbothered.

"This woman is something else! She accuses Cassie and won’t even apologize!"

"She really did steal this role just to spite Cassie!"

"What a despicable woman!"

The guests muttered to one another as Brooke marched past them towards her awaiting car. Once she left, they flocked to Cassie’s side, consoling her.

"You poor thing! She didn’t even bat an eye to harass a pregnant woman!" A guest said.

Another promised, "Once I get back, I’ll run her name to the ground! She’ll regret doing this!"

"I’ve already uploaded this video! That Brooke won’t get away with this!"

Cassie wiped her tears away. "Thank you all so much, but...I don’t want to make this a bigger deal. I’m just glad no one got hurt." She said.

The guests were all amazed by her kind heartedness. This trait only led them into wanting to ruin Brooke’s reputation even more.

"I’m sorry, but I’ll be taking her home now, she’s very tired and all this stress isn’t good for her." Julian said, slicing through the conversation.

Before Cassie could object, he held her by the arm and led her towards the awaiting car. On their way out, they glanced at Brooke, who was just entering her vehicle.

She had just finished speaking to the same staff member who had come in and diffused the tension. However, on closer inspection, Cassie and Julian noticed Brooke slip some money into her hand, and then give her a pat on the head.

Since the cars were parked at the exclusive lot, there weren’t many people lingering around to see it.

A wide grin on her face, Brooke said, "Thank you for your help with securing my bag."

The staff nodded, "It was no problem!" She replied, "Please, if you ever get listed for another movie, here is my card. You can recommend me as a staff member on set." The woman said, passing her the card.

Staring at her initials, Brooke responded, "I definitely will." Then had her sent away. Once the woman was gone, she waved to Cassie, then got in the car and drove away.

Watching her leave, Cassie could do nothing but stomp the ground. "How could you just stand there and let her disrespect me like that?!" She turned her rage to Julian.

"Cassie, please, I’ve had enough of tonight’s antics, let’s just get in the car and leave." He said, getting in front.

Cassie rolled her eyes, she begrudgingly got in the backseat. The awaiting driver shut the door after her and went behind the wheels, in front next to Julian.

As the car started, Cassie took her phone out of her purse and called a number. The call rang only once before the person on the other end answered.

"Miss Cassie, it’s been a while since you called." A male voice said over the phone.

"I know. But now, I have something very important I need you to do. It’ll benefit the both of us." She told him.

"Oh? Does this involve that woman, Brooke?" He asked.

Cassie grinned, sinking into the seat, she answered, "I’m surprised you already figured it out."

"Well, we’ve been doing business together for two years. I already know how your mind works. So tell me, what story about her do you want to sell?" He inquired, she heard the sound of him taking out a pen and opening a notepad.

Cassie pulled her phone away from her ear, she scrolled over to her gallery, at the photos of Brooke stepping into the hotel room. A wicked grin played on her lips.

"It’s something big and hot that’s bound to give your website some good exposure." She promised, earning a quiet chuckle on the other end.

"Don’t keep me waiting, send it over." He urged, "I’ll be sure to make it blow up into a huge scandal in time for breakfast tomorrow."

By the time Brooke arrived home, Thane had been outside the mansion waiting for her. However, as soon as she arrived, she took a bath and went to bed without so much as having a conversation with him.

In turn, Thane didn’t say a word, he just watched with observant eyes, waiting for morning to come, to see just what Brooke had been up to behind his back.

Eventually, morning did come, and with it came a surprising stir online.

"What is this?" Thane asked at the breakfast table, sliding his tablet over to Brooke.

She glanced at the headlines, and then at the picture of her stepping into a hotel room. A deep sigh escaped her lips, "So she contacted him already." Brooke muttered under her breath.

"Brooke." Thane called out, his voice demanding.

She raised her head, finally getting a good look at Thane, and the pissed off look on his face.

"Thane...it really isn’t what it looks like." She started off.

"Enlighten me." He said.

Her heart raced with anxiety. She knew he was going to get mad, but with the limited time she had, there really wasn’t much time to find him and explain everything.

No, even if there was, she dreaded telling him about it. Especially because of her counter method. Something she knew Thane would not approve of.

"I only went there to get back at Cassie, I didn’t do anything that would make you upset." She explained.

"If that’s true, then how come I’m already boiling with rage?" He retorted, his jaw clenched.

She sighed in defeat, "I really can’t keep hiding this." She dropped her shoulders, and revealed everything to him...

Cassie was on cloud nine! Just like she was promised, the scandal with Brooke was the number one trending search, with her conduct at the premiere coming in as a close second.

"Mother! There really isn’t anything I can’t do! Brooke’s career is finally done for! That bitch cannot crawl out of this!" Cassie cackled, hysterical about the turn out of events.

"Who knew that woman would stoop so low for a role? Perhaps she really did sleep with the Grayson heir for that part-" she was saying, but got interrupted by Cassie.

"Don’t say something so foolish! The Grayson heir doesn’t have such low standards. If he won’t even meet me, what chance could someone like Brooke have?"

Serena laughed, "That’s true!" She took a sip of wine, "But honestly, Brooke must’ve lost her mind! Who knows how much she spent to rent everything she had on at the premiere. She acted like such a big shot. But now, I’m sure she’s somewhat crying."

"She deserves to suffer. That bitch got on my nerve, even when I was willing to let her be my servant again, she acted up and ruined her last chance. It’s good to put her in her place every once in a while." She explained, a cocky grin on her face.

"Before I forget, you have a meeting with the event planner later. You and Ethan are supposed to discuss some of the themes you want in the wedding. What time do I tell her is convenient?" Serena asked.

Cassie’s eyes lit up. "It has to be tonight! I want to start the wedding preparations already."

"Great! Call Ethan and have him come here." Serena said.

Cassie took out her phone, naturally, she couldn’t stand Ethan, but for the sake of the wedding she was willing to put up with any of his bullshit.

However, he didn’t answer his phone.

She was just about to try again, when a message from one of the agency’s staff flashed on her screen. It was a link to an article.

Cassie mindlessly opened it, ’More news about Brooke?’ she grinned at the thought.

However, when she tapped on the link, the first thing that caught her eye was the headlines in bold font.

RICH CEO, ETHAN HALTON, SPOTTED COMING OUT OF A HOTEL ROOM WITH ACTRESS, BROOKE LARSON, A NIGHT TO HER PREMIERE....
