Chapter 1586: Chapter 1586: Wanting to Try How It Feels on Top

Spring arrives slowly and gently.

The early spring air carries the scent of fresh grass, while tender buds on the willow branches quietly awaken in the breeze.

Such delightfully perfect weather is rare in Landon.

In the sky, there isn’t even a trace of smog.

The design of the Twin City Hotel is truly unique. Its moderately sized, traditional-style courtyard can only accommodate a limited number of people at a time.

The courtyard is planted with jujube trees, wisteria, grapevines, and even a lotus pond. Since it’s winter, the ground is decorated with numerous potted plants, maintaining an air of vibrant vitality.

Although it’s technically a restaurant, stepping inside feels more like entering an ordinary Beijing courtyard home, with none of the worldliness of a typical dining establishment.

Sylvan Cheney had specifically reserved the most elegant private room. When the bamboo curtain is lifted, it reveals a view of the refreshing scenery outside.

Jasmine Yale ordered a few dishes, while Sylvan, without missing a beat, brewed her a cup of tea.

“You’ve got a good eye. A restaurant like this must be quite profitable,” Jasmine remarked, clearly enamored with the architecture and ambiance.

“It is,” Sylvan didn’t deny it. “Investing requires sharp vision and instinct. When Twin City first opened in Landon, few were optimistic about its prospects. After all, for people in Landon, traditional courtyard-style spaces are hardly novel.”

“So you helped the owner secure funding?”

“Mm, I’m the largest shareholder. Later on, it was proven that the project was excellent.”

“Why didn’t you just do it yourself?”

“No real interest,” Sylvan took a sip of tea. “Though the returns are substantial, compared to the Cheney Family’s projects, it’s a mere trifle.”

Whenever this man talked about such matters, he exuded a calm and composed confidence, as though he had everything within his grasp.

Jasmine used to think she wasn’t that interested, but recently, working alongside him—drafting proposals, translating project documents—she started to understand a bit more.

She enjoyed propping her chin up and listening to Sylvan talk.

She admired his self-assurance and poise, and the maturity and steadiness that matched his age.

Jasmine smiled faintly. “So this investment here—was it just something you did on a whim?”

“More or less. Take now, for example. Isn’t the benefit clear?”

Hmm. Jasmine thought for a moment—and he was right.

If it weren’t for Sylvan’s shareholder status, she wouldn’t have been able to sit in such a premium private room without even needing a reservation.

“Who are you ordering this osmanthus wine for?” Sylvan raised an eyebrow and pointed at the menu.

Jasmine quickly shook her head. “Not for me.”

“Oh, I figured you wouldn’t have the guts to drink it.”

Since returning to Landon, he had been strict about controlling her diet. At most, he’d allow her a little snack like chips or chocolate—alcohol, however, was absolutely off-limits.

“It’s for you to try. It says on the menu it’s their signature drink. Once you’re drunk, I’ll just… hehehe.” Jasmine’s smile curved mischievously as she stared into his eyes.

“So, is this your way of saying you want to try being on top? Hmm?”

“Is that not allowed?” Jasmine’s face flushed red.

“Allowed. Anytime you want.”

Jasmine: “…”

What does he mean by “anytime”?

Sunlight filtered through the bamboo blinds, warm rays spilling onto the wooden floor, evoking a distinctly nostalgic charm.

In the private room, the incense burned softly, wisps of white smoke rising with a soothing fragrance.

Soon, dish after dish was brought to the table.

Jasmine wasn’t particularly picky about food, so most of what she ordered catered to Sylvan’s preferences.

It had to be said—the dishes here were impeccable in appearance, aroma, and taste, utterly mouthwatering.

Jasmine first sampled the ginger-sauce crispy ribs and almond tofu—the flavors were exquisite, the textures flawless.

Sylvan watched her, his gaze filled with contentment.

Beautiful scenery. Delicious food. A stunning woman.
