Chapter 216: Chapter 74: Brothers’ Visit_3
"That’s amazing!"
"Of course!"
...
Similar conversations were happening in the crowd from time to time. Some were fans of Diwu Qian, others were fans of Sun Mulin, and some recognized the other people. The gathered crowd suddenly became noisy.
The noise outside naturally didn’t reach the ears of Mo Ying and the others, who had entered Du Xixi’s ward. They never cared about others’ opinions of them, whether it be admiration or disdain. It didn’t matter to them.
Their purpose in coming here was simply to visit Du Xixi.
Mo Ying, being the only female present besides Du Xixi, had it much easier than Ye Wenting and the others. She directly sat by Du Xixi’s bedside, holding her hands and began showing concern.
The group of big men looked at Mo Ying, who was already seated, and the spacious ward with only two chairs, and felt a bit headache-inducing.
The two chairs in the ward were naturally occupied by Ke Xing, the elder, and Ke Lian, Du Xixi’s husband. The group exchanged greetings and then looked at each other in the chairless ward with mutual helplessness.
Mo Feng and the others couldn’t let the elder Ke Xing stand, nor could they ask Ke Lian to stand up and give up his seat. So they looked at each other, feeling their predicament.
"What do we do? Should we sit on the floor?" Mo Feng pointed to the clean floor. It was his first time visiting someone in a hospital, and there were no seats!
Everyone: ...
Mo Ying glanced at her silly brother, only feeling that his brain was only useful on the battlefield. On regular days, it was just for show.
Du Xixi couldn’t stop giggling. Seeing Mo Feng still confusedly pointing at the floor, she gently said, "Fengzi, ask the nurses outside to bring in a few chairs."
The ward where Du Xixi was staying was considered a VIP one, and there were indeed many chairs originally. However, usually, there weren’t many visitors, mostly just Ke Xing and his son chatting with Du Xixi. So, only two chairs were left, and the excess ones were removed.
Du Xixi and the other two had previously overlooked where Mo Ying and the others would sit. So they hadn’t asked for the extra chairs to be brought back in. Seeing Mo Feng and his brothers standing, even contemplating sitting on the floor, naturally, those extra chairs needed to be put to use.
Mo Feng dimly responded, stepped outside, and shouted "Nurse sisters" several times. When a few nurses cheerfully brought in the chairs, they shared a knowing smile with Mo Feng as they left.
The kind nurse sisters closed the door to the ward. Mo Feng, still bewildered, asked, "Why did they look at me so weirdly?"
Mo Feng patted his face and the top of his head, feeling that after intensifying his training at the Military Department these past months and getting a haircut before coming to the hospital, there shouldn’t be anything wrong, he should even look more handsome!
But the nurses’ looks at him were not those given to a handsome guy, but more like a very... affectionate smile toward a "little brother".
Diwu Qian coughed, unable to suppress his grin. He adjusted his glasses and asked his silly brother, "Fengzi, why did sister-in-law call for some nurses just now?"
"I think... nurse sisters?"
Diwu Qian squinted, looking at Mo Feng, who was pondering, and continued asking, "Then, what did you call them?"
"...Nurse sisters?"
"Uh-huh!" Diwu Qian patted his good brother’s shoulder, "For women, age is the hardest thing to overcome. Sister-in-law’s term was complimenting them, but you..."
Mo Feng panicked, opened his mouth, and said, "Calling them nurse sisters shouldn’t be wrong, right? I’m only a bit over a hundred years old!" In the Star Era, that’s still pretty young!
Du Xixi, just over seventy years old: "Well, those nurse sisters are in their eighties, just graduated from Blue Star University, this year’s recent grads."
Mo Feng: ...
A young man over a hundred calling women in their eighties "nurse sisters" didn’t exactly offend them, yet it still touched on a sensitive chord within the nurse sisters regarding their age.
Just as Mo Feng was trying to convince himself that the nurses wouldn’t mind his address, the nurses gathered together, expressing their frustration.
Nurse Sister A: "I’m eighty-one, the youngest graduate in the whole department, and yet an obviously older guy called me sister!"
Nurse Sister B: "I’m eighty-nine, but I’m sure that officer is at least thirty years older than me! He should be calling me nurse little sister!"
Nurse Sister C: "I just broke down crying at eighty-three."
The OB-GYN director, who happened to walk behind the nurse sisters: ... I seem to be at least two hundred years older than you all, yet you called me pretty auntie yesterday.
