Chapter 365: Chapter 363: The Power of Die-Hard Fans
"Thank you, Director. You’ve worked hard."
Jian Xi felt a bit embarrassed as she looked at the elegantly appointed VIP room, for which an entire floor had been cleared.
The director felt it was far from enough. "Miss Jian, the accommodations are still somewhat limited, so please don’t mind. When you see Dr. Jian, please put in a few good words for us. You have no idea how important his medical guidance is to us."
Just as Jian Xi was about to say something, the director spoke first again.
"None of that matters. You should rest now."
After saying that, he bustled out with his staff like a gust of wind.
Jian Xi looked at the message from Jian Sirun and couldn’t help but reply with a thumbs-up emoji.
Seriously... She had said she wouldn’t rely on her brothers, but in the end, she was still reaping the benefits. Well, who could blame her for being so pampered! There was no helping it! She might as well enjoy it.
「Early the next day」
Fu Wenxin came to visit again. When he reached the door of her original hospital room and saw it was empty, he furrowed his brows. "Nurse, where’s the patient who was in here?"
The nurse glanced at him, clearly impatient. "Move along, move along, don’t disturb Miss Jian’s rest."
What a joke! As if Jian Xi was someone just anyone could visit! Dr. Jian is her idol, and he has already given orders: no unauthorized personnel are allowed to visit. If she remembered correctly, Miss Jian had been furious after this man’s last visit. This kind of person definitely couldn’t be allowed near Miss Jian to cause her more trouble.
Fu Wenxin was fuming, his eyes glaring.
Secretary Wang, who was beside him, immediately snapped, "What kind of attitude is this? Believe it or not, I’ll file a complaint against you!"
The young nurse snorted coldly. "Whatever."
Secretary Wang refused to back down. "Chairman Fu, just you wait. I’m going to file a complaint right now. We’ll have this young nurse apologizing to you in person shortly."
With that, he stormed off toward the third floor.
Fu Wenxin stood with his cane, a cold glint in his somber eyes. Jian Xi, do you really think you can escape from right under my nose?
"AARGH—"
Before Fu Wenxin could react, Secretary Wang was thrown down in front of him.
Fu Wenxin stumbled back several steps, narrowly avoiding being crushed. With his old bones, if he’d been knocked over, who knows how many people would have laughed.
The tall, stout head nurse, rolling up her sleeves, raised her eyebrows impatiently at Fu Wenxin. "So, you’re the one who wants to complain about our nurses’ station, huh?"
Her tone was incredibly aggressive, practically daring him to challenge her so she could start a fight.
Fu Wenxin frowned. Has this head nurse lost her mind?
The head nurse waved her hand dismissively. "Let me tell you! You want to visit? Not a chance! Now, get lost!"
Dr. Jian Sirun is her idol! Causing trouble for her idol’s sister is like a slap in her own face! How could she allow that! No matter what, she has to protect Miss Jian today!
The young nurse from earlier stood beside the head nurse and chimed in, "Get lost!"
Secretary Wang scrambled to his feet, clutching the cheek that had just been slapped. "Chairman Fu, these people must be insane! They actually dared to hit us!"
"I’ll report you all!" Secretary Wang shouted.
The head nurse laughed heartily, hands on her hips. "Go ahead! You come here causing trouble in the hospital, and you think we can’t defend ourselves? No matter who you complain to, you deserved that beating. If you don’t scram now, you’ll really have something to cry about!"
"Aren’t these just shameless thugs!" Secretary Wang fumed.
He had followed Fu Wenxin for over ten years and had never been treated like this. "Chairman Fu, we need to find their director! We must teach these insolent fools a lesson!"
Fu Wenxin clenched his fists and took out his phone. A moment later, the hospital director answered.
"Ah, Chairman Fu, what can I do for you?" the director asked with a chuckle, having answered Fu Wenxin’s call.
An assistant came in and whispered something in his ear, and the director’s expression changed dramatically.
Fu Wenxin’s voice was cold as he berated him, "Look at the fine state of affairs in the hospital you manage! I try to visit a patient and get blocked by a nurse and a head nurse! If you can’t manage this hospital properly..."
"My apologies, Chairman Fu, but I’m afraid you won’t be able to see the person you’re looking for, not even if this hospital went through several changes of directors," the director sneered, completely unafraid.
Respecting Fu Wenxin was merely a courtesy. It didn’t mean he, a hospital director, was afraid of him. Did this businessman really think he could run wild in a hospital?!
"Director Wen! What is the meaning of this?" Fu Wenxin’s voice turned several shades colder.
The director replied with a smile, "My meaning is quite clear. As long as Jian Xi is in our hospital, no one she doesn’t wish to see will be allowed in. Chairman Fu, please leave."
Staring at the disconnected call, Fu Wenxin was so furious he nearly spat blood.
Seeing this, the head nurse grew even more smug. "Did you hear our director clearly? Miss Jian isn’t someone you can see just because you want to. Now, scram!"
"Scram!" Several other medical staff members came out to drive them away.
Fu Wenxin and Secretary Wang were ignominiously thrown out.
"You bastards! How dare you treat Chairman Fu like this! You’ll all regret this!"
"PAH—"
The door slammed shut. No one there was about to coddle him.
Secretary Wang, adding fuel to the fire, said, "Chairman Fu, look at these people! They’re practically shitting on your head! Have they no..."
SLAP!
Fu Wenxin struck him across the face. "Haven’t I been humiliated enough? All you do is shout and make a scene, utterly incompetent! You didn’t arrange things properly, and now I’ve come all this way just to lose face with you, you damned fool!"
He shot a venomous glare at the hospital.
Secretary Wang gritted his teeth. He had to get revenge for this.
But the hospital was like an impenetrable fortress; no matter what schemes he tried, it remained completely unmoved.
Secretary Wang was utterly dumbfounded. What on earth had gotten into these people, making them so fiercely loyal to Jian Xi?
When Wan Yu learned the whole story and video-called Jian Xi, he nearly choked on his laughter.
Jian Xi, too, couldn’t help but feel an unprecedented sense of shock at the power of these fans.
"Your Fourth Brother definitely has a legion of hardcore, die-hard fans. With them around, you won’t have to worry about anyone trying to harm you in the hospital anymore."
"Mm."
Jian Xi had never imagined that the most peaceful time in her life would turn out to be this period of recuperation in the hospital, after surviving the car accident—her new lease on life.
"I’ve dug up the information on Fu Wenxin. How should I put this... He’s a bit strange. Take a look for yourself. Something feels off about him, but I can’t quite pinpoint what. Also, Yang Jinyu has been in frequent contact with Fu Wenxin recently. If you don’t want your case to fall through, you really need to hurry up and get in touch with him."
"Before, I asked you to look into why he’s so resistant to anyone mentioning Zhuoyue Technology wanting to transform. How’s that investigation coming along?"
"Hehe, one of the young models under me actually managed to dig up some clues. Apparently, Yang Jinyu has a secretary who, when drunk, let slip that Yang Jinyu had secretly tried to acquire a company in an attempt to transform his business. It failed, and his family elders berated him, telling him to give up on the idea. So, when you suddenly brought it up, you either scared him or deeply embarrassed him. That man is extremely concerned about saving face."
So that was it. Jian Xi couldn’t help but feel she had been foolish. Si Yuhuan had taught her countless times the principle of ’know yourself and know your enemy, and you will win every battle.’ She had thought herself clever but hadn’t applied it at the crucial moment. Instead, her attempts to be smart had backfired, and she’d only ended up stirring a hornet’s nest.
"Arrange a meeting with Yang Jinyu for me."
Wan Yu understood instantly. "I’ll have Jinjin handle it. I guarantee she’ll set up a meeting in a place he absolutely can’t run from."
The two shared a knowing smile.
