Chapter  273 - I want to be by your side

"The leader of the demonic cult is dead..." A voice echoed among the transcendents.

The formations that the demonic sect used to cause chaos in the demonic Qi of the deadlands could only be activated and maintained by the cult leader himself.

They were sure that he wouldn't deactivate them, not before dealing the final blow to the orthodox alliance. So there was only one possibility: Xue Mochen was dead.

"We need to get to the reserve army now!" Yanxiao roared and the teleportation artifact they had prepared glowed with an intense golden light.

Before they were teleported, Yanxiao used his Qi to grab the chubby man. "You're coming with us."

The moment Yanxiao's voice fell silent, the bodies of the twelve transcendents and Heidu disappeared.

The space around them shook violently before revealing the forest of the fallen moon, which now could no longer bear that name.

The fragments of its fake moon were scattered on the ground, as was one of the Tang family's arks, cut in half.

The entire surrounding terrain had been swept clean of any life, taken over by ashes, craters and melted glass.

The flaming tiger sniffed the air, sensing the remaining demonic Qi.

"That bastard really is dead... hahaha!" The patriarch of the Zhao family laughed, but none of the other transcendents showed the same happiness.

"Qingyi isn't here, nor is Biyue, nor is the reserve army..." The leader of the Ice Flower Sect spoke, studying the battlefield.

Where could they have gone? Perhaps they had gone to meet up with the main army? It was possible.

Thousands of possibilities took over the minds of everyone there, until something finally popped into Yanxiao's mind.

Qingyi had the same scent as the leader of the Eternal River Sect or, to be more specific, the scent of the immortal being who had stolen her body.

Before, Qingyi could do nothing but lower his head, but now, he had the power to question Yanxiao, to fight him. Had he finally revealed his true colors?

"He's in my sect," Yanxiao declared and, ignoring the stares of everyone there, shot into the sky.

The damned immortal who had taken his best friend away from him! Who had taken that smiling little girl away from him!

Qingyi was truly linked to that damned immortal, he was sure of it now.

"Wait!" The other transcendents tried to stop Yanxiao, but without receiving any response from him, they could only follow right behind.

Unaware of what was happening between the transcendents of the orthodox alliance, Qingyi sat cross-legged on Khaedryss' back.

With his eyes closed, he felt Ruxue's caresses, his head using her huge boobs as a pillow.

"Do you think this could come from Elize's sister?" Ruxue asked.

She had heard the conversation between Qingyi and Yanxiao. From the way Khaedryss was acting, it was hard to think of any other alternative.

"I don't know... I don't even know if the immortal who supposedly took over the sect leader's body is someone who wants Elize's good," Qingyi replied.

Apart from Yanxiao's claims about smelling something similar to the sect leader's on him, a type that only comes from blood connection, he really didn't know much.

The only reason he came up with the possibility of that person being Elize's sister was because of the few memories Elize still had from when she was a child: her sister, her mother and Khaedryss.

Those were the most important people to Elize, the only ones she still had in her memory from her childhood and the most likely to have gone after her.

After a moment's hesitation, Qingyi called out to Elize, pulling her onto his lap.

"Husband? Are you all right? Why is little purple one so agitated?" The purple-haired beauty asked, gently touching Qingyi's face.

"Something is happening in the Eternal River Sect, something big... I believe it may have something to do with the person who brought Khaedryss into this world." Qingyi replied, placing his large, rough and powerful hands on Elize's small, soft and delicate ones.

Elize shuddered at those words. Her eyes widened as her heart raced, her mind seized by a whirlwind of possibilities.

Was it her sister? Her mother? Someone trying to hurt her?

She lowered her head, hugging Qingyi, her face sunk into his broad chest. "Do you think it could be my sister? Or my mother?" Elize asked anxiously.

"I don't know darling... I really don't know." Qingyi shook his head. He didn't want to give Elize any false hope.

"I... I understand..." Elize bit her lower lips, her eyes watering as she shifted focus, touching the black scales on Khaedryss' neck.

The dragon turned her face gently, watching Elize with a deep gaze.

"It must be someone important... someone good..." Elize whispered. "Little Purple would never take me to someone who wanted to hurt me. I know that."

Turning to Qingyi, she hugged him again.

"Do you want to go back to the world of the mind with the others? You need to rest." Qingyi spoke, his hands running through Elize's long, silky hair.

"N-no," she said, her voice trembling as her face filled with determination.

"I want to be by your side when you find this person."

The moment Elize's words fell, she pressed her plump, juicy lips against Qingyi's, her huge tits squeezed against his chest.

After a moment like that, they separated and Qingyi hurried Khaedryss into flying even faster.

The journey from there to the Orthodox sect would normally take weeks, but Khaedryss flew faster than ever, rushing it by a wide margin.

The intensity of the mana leaking over the horizon growing even stronger, powerful pulses spreading for thousands of kilometers.

Whatever was happening there, it was a level of power beyond anything Qingyi had ever seen in his entire life.

After just three days of travel, Qingyi finally saw the Eternal River Sect, his eyes widening as he felt Khaedryss become even more agitated.

Whoever that person was, the heavens certainly weren't happy with her.

What do you guys think of the pacing so far? Is it too rushed? I made the decision to speed up the pace, but I'm afraid I've rushed it too much.
