Chapter 282: What does the fox say?
As Carolus led Kai and the others to their leader, he couldn’t help but marvel at how different the base looked. He knew that everyone would ask questions, but for now, he was grateful to Kai.
"Thank you." He bowed
Kai simply waved him off. "It’s whatever. Just doing what I can to help."
One thing Kai had noticed when they arrived in the spirit world was that he couldn’t teleport back to the regular world. Leo had told him it was because he had never been in another dimension before, and his mind didn’t understand the concept of teleporting between realities or long parts of space.
He told Leo that what he said made no sense, so Leo asked him to teleport back to Earth. Turns out that he couldn’t. So, Kai had to figure out a way to head back to the normal world without the aid of his powers.
Kai was just going to use his pocket dimension, but that didn’t work either. Then, he tried to buy a more powerful skill, but Leo said he was cheating and locked all of the teleportation abilities in the status window.
[Analysis complete. Energy is called Spirit Energy.] The status window informed him.
’No fucking shit! I could have guessed that by now, after learning we’re in the spirit world. Slow ass status window. No, I should call you a system for taking this long. I’m sure you know that I hate systems, status window!’
Kai had no idea why he was having a conversation with his status window when it couldn’t talk back to him.
"We’re here. Behind these doors is our acting leader. Please show respect when you enter." Carolus knocked on the door.
"You may enter." A feminine voice called out.
Kai was already licking his lips. ’Hope she’s a milf. I wouldn’t mind adding a milf spirit to my harem.’
When the door opened, they were greeted by a young woman who sat in a chair. She looked no older than 12, and Kai was instantly turned off.

"Thank you for helping out my people." The girl said to Kai, getting off her chair to bow.
"My name is Kurami, and I’m the Queen of the Fox spirits. My daughter has been captured by the demons and held hostage. I beg you for your help."

"You ask for help without even knowing who we are. How do you know that we can be trusted?" Kai asked
"I felt the goddess’s power. Two of them. So I’m sure you and your friend here are trustworthy." She smiled
"Hmm. Let me ask you this. Why do you look like a child?"
All of the fox spirits turned to Kai as if he had just fucked up. Their expressions were a mix of fear and shock.
Kurami had an irritated look on her face, but kept her calm.
Kai saw a vein on her head pop out, so he knew that his question irked her.
"During my battle with the demon, I was beaten and lost seven of my tails, so I’m not at my most powerful state right now. Please forgive me." She said through her rising anger.
"Meh, don’t sweat it. I don’t really care. So, do you know where the demon who did all of this is? I’ll go take him out right now."
"That would not be wise." Kurami shook her head, taking a seat.
"Why?"
"Because the spirit world is not a place you can wander without any aid. I can see that you have been protecting your companions via your power all this time, but if that protection were to fail, you all will experience what happens when a person from the material world stays too long in the spirit world."
Kai furrowed his brows, taking a seat on the couch directly across from Kurami. "What does that have to do with me facing the demon who did this? I can kill him and poof, everything goes back to normal."
"It’s not that simple." Karl butted in. "The spirit world is alive; it has a will of its own. That will has been bent by the demons. Even if you kill them all, the spirit world will remain in this unlivable state."
"Is there anything we can do to change things back?" Kyana asked. As a person with spirit contracts, she felt the need to help them.
Kurami could sense that Kyana was a spirit user and felt that her emotions were genuine.
"I should be able to reverse what has happened here, after all, the spirit world is a reflection of whoever rules it. Since I was usurped, the demons took control. But if I can get my full power back, then I can take control once again."
"Pfft!"
Everyone turned to Kai, who started laughing.
"Sorry, but if you lost at full power when the realm was already bent to your will, how the hell do you expect to win now? Are you gonna search for your lost tails or something?"
Kurami smiled. "With you, of course."
"Hmmm. I don’t like being used by others unless they are a woman and it’s for sex. No pegging though."
"Kai!" Gwen elbowed him.
"What? I’m serious."
"Hero of Gracia, if you can weaken the demon to the point where his grip on the spirit world is weak enough for me to claim it once again, then I’m sure we can win."
"Or, hear me out, I can just do this." Kai touched Kurami’s shoulder and not only healed her injuries, but also increased her mana capacity, well, in this case, spirit energy capacity. Thankfully, spirit energy worked the same way mana did, so Kai was able to restore her to her former glory and more.
"Now that’s what I’m talking about!"
After healing her, Kurami not only gained all of her tails back, but she also became an adult once again. Maybe it was because she was a spirit, but her beauty was out of this world. Her white fur sparkled, her nine tails wagged from excitement, and her body was a 10/10.
Kai had to resist the urge to grab her tits and suck on them.
