Chapter 264: Wow, you’re weak as fuck!
Barry was frozen. He couldn’t do anything but look on as Kai blasted the demon into oblivion, killing the guy instantly. No, it was overkill. The demon stood no chance. Barry saw the hero he wanted to be like in Kai. Strong, handsome, and ruthless to demons.
"Well, that’s over."
"T-Thank you, sir!" Barry bowed, showing respect.
"Yeah, sure."
"You’re the help the goddess sent me, right?"
Kai nodded. "Yeah. Hmmm." He checked Barry’s stats and nearly choked on his saliva.

Will do anything for the goddess. Thinks Kai is really cool. Wants to become strong.]
"Wow. You’re weak as fuck!" Kai blurted out without any care.
Barry took that like a stab to the heart. "Y-Yeah, I know. I’m still in training. But I’m getting stronger every day!"
Kai wouldn’t deny that. His mana stat was 35,000, which was way above the strength of a tier-10 warrior or mage, but it was nowhere near enough to take on a demon lord.
"Shouldn’t you be in the hero academy or something? Getting stronger gradually until you are actually able to stand on your own?"
Barry looked at Kai with a confused expression. "Hero Academy?"
"Oh dear god. Did you become the hero, go through basic training, then get thrown into the action or something?"
Barry nodded.
"What the fuck?! Aquaphina, you dumb bitch! What are you doing to your heroes? At least set up a school for them! Fucking hell." Kai shouted, and he knew his words reached her.
"Whoa! Hey! Mind your words! That’s the goddess you’re speaking to!"
"Shut the fuck up. I’m babysitting you, so don’t talk back to me. I speak however I want and do whatever I want. You sit there and be quiet."
Barry wanted to argue, but he just sighed and did as Kai said.
"Barry!" Iris and Patty ran over to Barry, hugging him tightly. They didn’t think they would make it out of this place alive, so they were glad to see him again.
"Are you two okay?" He asked in a worried tone.
"Yes. These kind ladies helped us. They’re strong!" Patty expressed.
"It was nothing." Amaya rubbed her nose.
"We caught up with them, now what?" Gwen asked.
"Your name is Bartholomew, right?" Kai asked
"N-No, it’s Barry."
"Yeah, that’s what I just said." He rolled his eyes. "Where is your next destination. You’re liberating places that have demonic activity, right?"
He nodded. "Yes."
Kai smirked. "Good. I would like to see you in action. Take us to your next destination."

Dill, the messenger for Picklenose, walked through the streets at night, hiding his face as he met up with a person. He stuck to the shadows, avoiding attention even though he looked suspicious as fuck.
Honestly, shouldn’t you just walk normally through the public to not draw attention to yourself? I’m pretty sure that walking with a hood over your head, looking around to see if anyone is following or looking at you, screams, "Hey, look at me! I’m about to either do something super sketchy, or someone is following me, and they’re doing something super sketchy."
A/N: [Technical difficulties. I had to fire that Narrator for self-inserting. Please continue.]
Dill walked into an alley where a woman was waiting for him.
"My lady." He said, getting on one knee.
"You said you have something for me?" Cucombar asked.
"Yes. It’s the lord, Sir Picklenose. He knows what you’re up to. He even ordered me to deliver this message to the church." He handed her the letter.
She opened it, read it, then tore it to shreds. "My husband. My dear husband. Cant you see that I’m doing this for us?!" She sighed.
"Does the church know about our lab?"
Dill shook his head. "I didn’t relay a message to them; however, I do know that the hero from the foreign land was on his way to the church. So I’d assume they will eventually learn about the lab."
Cucombar nodded. "Order all of our branches to retreat to the neighboring islands. We’ll clear out tonight. As for the pill distribution, we’ll focus on the surrounding islands before coming back here. Since the church might be aware of our presence, we should always be cautious on this island."
Dill agreed. "And what of the foreigner?"
"I’ll inform the demon lord, and I’m sure he will handle it accordingly. We can’t really do anything to him right now since he’s in favor of the church and Blue Tower. Even the other towers want him and would probably protect him if he’s in danger. After all, he can not only make people stronger, but also restore a person’s mana network even after it was destroyed. He’s a walking treasure."
"A walking threat," Dill muttered.
"I don’t disagree. Let’s end this conversation here. Draft up a new letter and give it to the church." Cucombar walked deeper into the alley while Dill walked back into the streets, circling around to head toward a boat so he could ride toward the church.
A few days after that conversation, the church arrived on the island and headed toward the place where Kai had told them. They managed to find the secret lab, but failed to catch anyone since the place was cleared out.
Fortunately, they were able to feel the demonic energy in the room and confirmed that demonic activity was taking place there.
"Spread out, see if you can find anything out of the ordinary. Have our soldiers put this island on high alert and have our knights patrol every part of this island. We need to find the people behind this. Also, contact Sir Picklenose; we need to have a chat with him."
"Yes, Saintess!"
