Chapter 1887: Chapter 1887: Herb Garden Servants
After landing, both Augustine Landon and Oliver Watson’s expressions changed drastically.
The owner of that voice, although not yet visible, had already embarrassed them to such an extent.
Such a method, even the strongest of the Heavenly Saint Realm might not possess!
Hence, the person was very likely a ’Saint Immortal Realm powerhouse’!
Realizing that they had angered a Saint Immortal Realm powerhouse shortly upon arriving in the Upper Domain, both their hearts were filled with fear, and terror gleamed in their eyes.
"Senior, we mean no offense... We didn’t intentionally trespass into your Herb Garden."
Taking a deep breath, Wyatt Barnes calmed the turmoil within his body and politely spoke to the void: "We just came from the Lower Domain, and after entering the cross-domain teleportation array, we were transported here... We assure you, since arriving here, we have absolutely caused no harm to even a single blade of grass!"
Upon hearing Wyatt’s words, Augustine followed up: "Yes, senior, once we discovered this Herb Garden had an owner, we all intended to leave. We do not wish for trouble... We hope senior will let us leave, considering our unintentional intrusion."
Although Oliver remained silent, a look of yearning appeared in his eyes.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to speak, but everything he wanted to say had been said by Wyatt and Augustine.
Yet, there was no response following this.
For a moment, Wyatt and the other two exchanged glances, simultaneously revealing bitter smiles, as a touch of apprehension arose within their hearts.
The formidable entity, without appearing yet, had already made them seem so pathetic, clearly indicating strength far beyond what they could contend with.
"Against such a powerful entity, even if I use all my means, including deploying the Splendid Fairy Sword, I could never be a match!"
Wyatt thought to himself.
"From the Lower Domain?"
After a moment, the elderly voice resounded again, with a hint of inquiry in the tone.
"Senior, we truly came from the Lower Domain... If we appeared in your Herb Garden suddenly rather than entering from outside, with your power, how could you not notice us?"
Augustine responded while simultaneously complimenting the voice’s owner.
"Since you unintentionally intruded, I cannot blame you; I spare your lives!"
The elderly voice came, bringing relief to Wyatt and his companions, realizing they had narrowly escaped death.
With the opponent’s strength, killing them was as simple as slaughtering chickens or clipping grass.
"In that case... Senior, we bid you farewell!"
Standing, Wyatt and his companions rose, and Augustine bowed towards the void, then without waiting for a response, he was the first to ascend.
Bang!
However, just as he ascended, Augustine was suddenly pushed down by an invisible force appearing out of nowhere in the void, causing him some embarrassment:
"Senior, didn’t you say you wouldn’t blame us and would spare our lives? With your strength and status, surely you wouldn’t toy with us?"
As he spoke, Augustine’s tone grew somewhat plaintive.
Wyatt and Oliver furrowed their brows, wondering if the hidden powerhouse might go back on their word.
If the opponent reneged, they would really have no recourse at all.
After all, with the three of them combined against the opponent, they were hardly enough to fill the gaps between their teeth.
"I said I wouldn’t blame you and spared your lives, naturally meaning I won’t harm your lives... However, since you were transported here through the cross-domain teleportation array, it shows you and I are destined. It so happens a few attendants taking care of the Herb Garden tragically died a few days ago; you shall help manage the Herb Garden for a short while. When I find new attendants, you may leave on your own."
The elderly voice continued, entering Wyatt and the others’ ears, causing their expressions to change greatly.
Listening to the opponent’s words, was he intending to leave them there as attendants?
Moreover, as attendants who might drop dead at any moment?
"What? Unwilling? If you’re unwilling, I’ll send you on your way!"
The voice returned, filled with a coldness.
"Don’t be ungrateful! You’re new to the Upper Domain, wandering around outside might lead to your death at any time... Staying in my Herb Garden, you’re not only safe, but the cultivation environment is far superior to the outside. Many dream of coming here to cultivate, yet I refuse them all!"
Following, the voice’s tone shifted.
Just as they say ’a slap followed by a give’, nothing describes it better than this.
Hearing the first part, Wyatt and his companions’ expressions changed considerably, knowing they had no choice but to serve as attendants in the Herb Garden.
Upon the latter part, they instinctively sensed the Spiritual Energy of the heavens and earth.
The next moment, they found that indeed the Spiritual Energy in the area was very rich, far exceeding that of the Lower Domain they previously resided.
Yet, having not visited other parts of the Upper Domain, they couldn’t tell if this place was substantially better for cultivation compared to outside.
"Huh?"
Sensing the Spiritual Energy, Wyatt soon noticed that the Spiritual Energy resonated with the herbs in the Herb Garden.
At times, the aura emitted by the herbs merged with the Spiritual Energy, intensifying it further.
"Seems he wasn’t lying to us."
Wyatt Barnes thought to himself.
Despite his thoughts, Wyatt Barnes had no plans to stay here and cultivate. Even though the cultivation environment here was top-tier in the Upper Domain, he was reluctant to linger here.
The reason he left the Lower Domain for the Upper Domain was to rescue his wife and daughter, who were trapped by the Fire Worship Sect.
His intention was to go to the Fire Worship Sect and rescue his wife and daughter.
Although, with his current strength, breaking into the Fire Worship Sect to save them directly was impossible, he planned to infiltrate the sect and then strategize carefully.
He believed that with his current power, joining the Fire Worship Sect wouldn’t be too difficult.
However, if he was confined here, it would mean he couldn’t possibly reach the Fire Worship Sect in a short time, or even whether he could live long enough to go there was uncertain.
After all, according to the owner of the Herb Garden, the previous servants all died suddenly.
If one servant died suddenly, it could be considered their own problem.
But if several servants died suddenly, one would have to consider whether there was a problem with the Herb Garden itself or its owner.
"Senior!"
After taking a deep breath, Wyatt Barnes spoke into the void, "Junior Wyatt Barnes has come to the Upper Domain for urgent matters... If Senior is willing to let us leave, Junior Wyatt Barnes will surely remember Senior’s kindness and repay you one day!"
"Junior also appreciates Senior’s favor."
Augustine Landon and Oliver Watson joined in, saying that although they had no specific goals coming to the Upper Domain, they knew being a servant at this Herb Garden was not a good thing.
If they could leave, they wanted to escape as soon as possible.
For some reason, they always felt that there was something strange about this Herb Garden and its owner.
Especially the owner’s mention that several past servants at the Herb Garden died suddenly, which gave them chills and fear that they might follow the same fate.
"I know what you’re thinking... The previous servants, because they hadn’t even reached the ’Great Saint Realm’, couldn’t bear the dense spiritual energy within the Herb Garden after a certain period, ultimately resulting in their bodies exploding. However, they stayed for ten years before dying suddenly!"
The owner of the Herb Garden still didn’t show up, but his voice clearly reached Wyatt Barnes and the others, "With your cultivation levels, staying here for ten years would be safe... After ten years, I will naturally let you leave!"
"That’s settled... If I find out you attempt to escape within the next ten years, don’t blame me for showing no mercy!"
The voice came again and abruptly stopped at the end.
No matter how much Augustine shouted, the owner of the Herb Garden no longer responded, as if they disappeared entirely.
"Wyatt, what should we do now?"
Finally, Augustine helplessly turned to Wyatt Barnes, asking.
"What else can we do now? He’s made it abundantly clear; we can only stay here for now."
Wyatt Barnes smiled bitterly.
Among the three, he was definitely the one who most wanted to leave the Herb Garden because he was eager to go to the Fire Worship Sect and rescue his wife and daughter.
Who knows how long it will take before the Sect Leader of the Fire Worship Sect emerges?
Then, the Fire Worship Sect would decide the fates of his wife and daughter.
Just thinking about this makes him anxious!
Nevertheless, given the current situation, no matter how anxious he is, what use could it be?
The Herb Garden owner’s power is beyond their ability to contend!
Wanting to forcefully leave is unrealistic.
Thus, they could only take one step at a time, hoping to find an opportunity to escape.
"We should stay put for now... Perhaps within a few days, we’ll find a chance to leave."
Oliver Watson’s voice promptly reached Wyatt Barnes and Augustine’s ears, leading them to nod in agreement.
Now, this was their only option; they had no other choice.
Thus, Wyatt Barnes and the others settled down in the Herb Garden.
Though initially unimpressed by the spiritual grass and herbs within the Herb Garden, after staying for a while, they realized the quality of these spiritual grass and herbs was impressive.
Even Elder Fire mentioned that if he were given these spiritual grass and herbs, he’d have a ninety-percent chance of completely restoring the fourth level of the Jewel Tower!
To know, even with the collective strength of the Mansion of Azure Clouds previously, only half of the Jewel Tower’s fourth level was restored.
"Elder Fire, are you sure about this? These spiritual grass and herbs don’t seem to be among the materials you mentioned to me before."
Wyatt Barnes asked Elder Fire curiously.
Because he felt there was a hint of encouragement in Elder Fire’s words, as if urging him to loot all the spiritual grass and herbs in the Herb Garden.
"My strength has recovered somewhat... If these spiritual grass and herbs undergo refinement with my Sunfire, they can be transformed into the purest power, used to restore the fourth level of the Jewel Tower!"
Elder Fire said.
Having received Elder Fire’s confirmation, Wyatt Barnes couldn’t help but smile bitterly, "But even so, I have no way to touch a blade of grass or tree here... If I do, not only would I surely die, but Augustine and Hall Master Watson would also be implicated!"
