Chapter 137 The Roadblock

The ninja resisted forcefully, gritting his teeth and saying, "No!"

Bai Ye grinned, then suddenly laughed and said, "If I stopped just because you said no, wouldn't that make me lose face?"

*Poof!*

The dagger pierced the ninja's chest, sinking deeper and deeper. Blood continuously welled from the edges until the resistance vanished and the blade completely penetrated his heart. Only then did Bai Ye release his grip.

He stood up, wiped the blood from his hands, and turned to leave the bar.

As he reached the entrance, Little Riolu ran up, chattering at Bai Ye and gesturing around.

"Huh?"

Bai Ye glanced at the blown-up car and the scorch marks, then at the tire tracks on the ground.

Bai Ye said to the chattering Little Riolu, "The other party has accomplices? They ambushed Jin Sha at the entrance and kidnapped Alex?"

"Chirp chirp!"

Little Riolu nodded its head rapidly.

"Damn it!" Bai Ye cursed. "Where's your backbone? Your pride? What's wrong with people these days? They all stick together and cooperate. Is there no spirit of venturing out alone anymore?"

"Chirp?"

Little Riolu tilted its head, looking at Bai Ye. Aren't you the same?

After grumbling, Bai Ye opened the car door, got into the driver's seat, and beckoned to Little Riolu, "What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

Little Riolu chirped and leaped into the passenger seat through the window.

Bai Ye quickly started the car and said, "Jin Sha left you here, meaning you can help me find her, right?"

Little Riolu nodded. "Chirp chirp!"

Bai Ye nodded and said nothing more. But at that moment...

As the car left the alley and was about to turn onto the street, a convoy of vehicles arrived at the alley entrance, blocking Bai Ye's path.

"It really is one disaster after another!"

Bai Ye slapped the steering wheel.

The convoy in front of him...

It was the boss of the Rhys family!

Alex had been captured by the Rhys family and brought to the underground bar. Facing Mr. One Hundred Million, the Rhys family boss intended to escort the person out of the city himself. Thus, he had driven over with a group of his trusted men. However, he was clearly late.

At this moment, a tattooed man got out of a car opposite him. He walked to Bai Ye's car, placed his hands on the roof, and leaned down to look at Bai Ye, saying, "What's your situation? Why are you coming out from inside?"

Bai Ye tilted his head. "I was picking up a delivery."

The man paused. "Picking up what delivery?"

Bai Ye pulled an AK-47 from under the car seat and said, "Death sent me to deliver your lives to him!"

Before the man could react, Bai Ye decisively pulled the trigger. In an instant, the man was riddled with bullets and fell backward.

The next moment, Bai Ye floored the accelerator and rammed forward.

*Bang!*

Bai Ye forcefully shoved the lead car aside, creating a path and speeding away.

A man with a cigar in his mouth poked his head out and roared, "Send a car to check if something happened at the bar. The rest of you, chase! Don't let them get away."

Meanwhile, Bai Ye glanced in the rearview mirror and soon spotted the Rhys family's cars in pursuit.

"These flies..." Bai Ye grabbed Little Riolu and placed it on the floor, saying, "This is the accelerator. Just press it hard and don't let go, understand?"

"Chirp?"

Little Riolu looked terrified. You want a mouse to drive?

Bai Ye didn't give Little Riolu a chance to refuse. He released the accelerator and climbed into the driver's seat, poking his body out of the sunroof.

The next moment, Bai Ye raised his gun and began firing at the vehicles behind him!

*Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat...*

The AK-47 roared, bullets pouring out towards the pursuing cars. The windows of those vehicles were continuously shattered, forcing the drivers to duck low and grip the steering wheels cautiously.

But...

There were always some unlucky ones!

A driver's head was suddenly shot through. His eyes widened as he fell forward, his head slamming onto the steering wheel.

The person in the passenger seat, startled, quickly grabbed the steering wheel, trying to steady the car. However, the steering wheel was firmly jammed by the driver's arm.

Then...

*Bang!*

Two cars collided violently.

One of them flew into the air and crashed into a car on the side, causing that car to swerve onto the sidewalk and smash directly into a cake shop.

"Playing games with me?"

Bai Ye burst out laughing, then scrambled back into the car, yanked the accelerator-pressing Little Riolu up, and tossed it into the passenger seat before continuing forward.

Suddenly, Little Riolu began to chirp.

"Huh?"

Bai Ye glanced at Little Riolu, then looked up into the sky. He then spotted a green praying mantis-like beast, about a meter tall, flying through the air, quickly passing over the rooftops.

Bai Ye retracted his head and said, "Is that Jin Sha's beast?"

Little Riolu nodded.

Bai Ye said, "Hold on tight."

Bai Ye slammed on the brakes and sharply turned the steering wheel. The car almost flew as it sped through the intersection without slowing down, terrifying the surrounding vehicles.

"What's wrong with you? In such a hurry to reincarnate?"

An ill-tempered driver poked his head out and yelled.

Bai Ye directly picked up his AK-47, extended it out the window, and pulled the trigger towards the sky.

The yelling driver flinched and quickly ducked down inside his car, burying his head. At the same time, the vehicles in front of Bai Ye heard the gunshots and instinctively made way.

Bai Ye sped onward, soon turning another corner and seeing the flying mantis land on the roof of a building.

"Huh?"

Bai Ye slowed down, parked the car on the side of the road, then picked up Little Riolu, grabbed his gun, and got out of the car, walking towards the building where the flying mantis was.

However, as he approached the building, Bai Ye realized the praying mantis on the roof was gone. He then looked at the building.

It had pointed arch roofs, flying eaves, and numerous stained-glass windows. The walls had some hollowed-out sections containing statues. It was a typical Gothic building. Above the main entrance, a huge cross stood. Therefore, it was most likely a church.

Bai Ye mused as he walked to the church's main entrance and casually pushed the door open.

Then...

A green, round object rolled towards Bai Ye.

Bai Ye looked down...

"Oh, for crying out loud!"

Bai Ye immediately cursed and leaped backward, tumbling down the church's front stairs.

*Boom!*

The moment Bai Ye fell to the bottom of the stairs.

A deafening roar suddenly erupted, followed by a burst of flames and black smoke that billowed out amidst the explosion.

...
