Chapter 48 Tyrannosaurus Rex

Dr. Hade’s will to survive was strong. After continuous travel, his physical strength had become an issue, but at this moment, he erupted with astonishing speed, making Bai Ye marvel at the boundless potential of humans.

Bai Ye thought to himself as he quickly caught up with Dr. Hade.

During the chase, Bai Ye glanced back. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was still hunting the Brontosaurus and seemed too occupied to bother with the two of them. They might just escape.

However, just then…

ROAR!

A roar suddenly sounded. Bai Ye felt the ground shake again, while Dr. Hade’s legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground.

A second one…

A Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Dr. Hade sat on the ground, about ten meters away, a second Tyrannosaurus Rex appeared, hunched over as if gnawing on something. It then turned its head, its eyes meeting Dr. Hade’s.

And then…

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!

This Tyrannosaurus Rex was even larger than the one hunting the Brontosaurus. When it ran, it was like a tank rolling by.

Bai Ye quickly reached Dr. Hade, grabbed him by the collar, pulled him up, and shoved him aside, saying, "Do you want to die?"

The moment Bai Ye spoke, he had already conjured a talisman.

"Earth Spell!"

As the talisman burned to ashes, a stone wall suddenly rose from the ground, blocking the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

RUMBLE!

The Tyrannosaurus Rex charged forward. The moment it hit the stone wall, the wall was shattered.

The stone wall was only half the height of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Bai Ye hadn’t expected the stone wall to stop it entirely; the important thing was to buy time.

“Ning Shuang, Sword Illusion Frost!”

The Ning Shuang Sword flew forward swiftly, transforming into a cold tide that swept past the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

CRACKLE, CRACKLE, CRACKLE!

The sound of freezing echoed, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s legs were rapidly encased in ice. The frost continued to spread upwards along its legs.

“Ning Shuang, Sword Control!”

After limiting the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s movement with frost, Bai Ye switched sword techniques. The Ning Shuang Sword then transformed into a beam of light, heading directly for the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s jaw.

With a soft *thump*, the sound of flesh tearing echoed.

The Ning Shuang Sword pierced the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s jaw, eliciting a roar of pain. The pain clearly made the Tyrannosaurus Rex more frenzied.

However, aside from increased rage, the Tyrannosaurus Rex didn’t seem to suffer significant damage. Bai Ye had intended for the Ning Shuang Sword to pierce its skull, but the creature’s body was tougher than he’d imagined, and the sword couldn't achieve that.

The next instant, the Tyrannosaurus Rex charged madly towards Bai Ye. Bai Ye quickly leaped to the side, bracing himself with one hand on the ground to create distance and evade the charge.

After regaining his balance, Bai Ye quickly took out the Deathstrike’s gun magazine and retrieved the sniper rifle. He didn’t even attach the scope, opting for a crouched sniping position. After all, at a distance of twenty to thirty meters, hitting the target without a scope wasn’t difficult for Bai Ye.

BANG, BANG!

Gunshots rang out consecutively. Bullets struck the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s body, splashing blood. Then, the Tyrannosaurus Rex charged forward again.

This wasn't entirely useless, but at least…

It wasn't very useful!

Bai Ye reloaded his gun and quickly ran. His most potent attacks were the Invisible Explosions, followed by the Ning Shuang Sword and the Deathstrike. If these two weren't effective…

Bai Ye bent down sharply, marking a spot on the ground, then deliberately slowed his pace, luring the Tyrannosaurus Rex towards the marked spot, and then…

BOOM!

An explosion suddenly erupted, and layers of airwaves rolled outwards, causing the surrounding grass blades to sway, forming waves of foliage.

However, the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s massive body swayed for a moment before it quickly straightened up again. Its legs were bleeding from the explosion, but that was all.

“Is it possible to be this monstrous!”

Bai Ye cursed and ran at full speed again, then summoned the Gashapon machine.

Bai Ye had to find something that could kill the Tyrannosaurus Rex. His hope rested on the Gashapon machine. Of course, he wouldn’t use the God Fragments. If he used the God Stone Fragments, Bai Ye was 100% confident of completing the mission, but he would lose out significantly.

So, whether it succeeded or not…

Depended on fate!

Bai Ye thought to himself as he quickly spun the Gashapon machine. With the sound of the machine whirring, a white capsule dropped out.

Seeing that the capsule was white, Bai Ye’s heart sank by half. He then twisted it open to find a card inside.

Little Bubble Gum: Before the sweetness of this bubble gum disappears, your speed and strength increase by 10 points.

Bai Ye remained unfazed. It was just a white capsule; what else could he expect?

Popping the bubble gum into his mouth, Bai Ye did not hesitate to flee again.

The next instant…

CLANG!

The Tyrannosaurus Rex charged forward, and the Gashapon machine was sent flying over ten meters. Fortunately, it was indestructible and vanished before it hit the ground.

However, with the last capsule spent and no luck, Bai Ye had no other options. He could only leave Dr. Hade to fend for himself; he could only look out for himself.

Bai Ye thought to himself, scanning his surroundings, and a curse escaped his lips.

Good heavens, that guy was fast. He’d actually abandoned him and run off first.

Bai Ye cursed, then a flash of inspiration struck him. The Great Inventor ability might also be worth a gamble, and it could be used once an hour. He could create something right now.

Moreover, while this ability wasn’t entirely reliable, it wasn’t entirely useless.

That single-use energy sword could only strike once, but its power was astonishing. If it were still available, it might have been able to take down the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

If that’s the case, let’s gamble again!

As the saying goes, gamblers will come to a bad end…

No, it should be, gambling doesn't necessarily mean losing!

Bai Ye thought to himself as he activated the Great Inventor ability.

"Create!"

The next instant, white light enveloped Bai Ye’s head. Soon, a fist-sized blue metal block dropped from the air into his hand. It looked somewhat like a Rubik's Cube.

Cluster Bomb: A cluster bomb created using a composite energy block, possessing immense power.

Bai Ye was dumbfounded. This was a cluster bomb?

In Bai Ye’s impression, cluster bombs were aerial missiles, a type of missile that detonated a large number of smaller bombs together, hence also called mail bombs.

This small object in his hand was only the size of a fist. Could this thing be a cluster bomb? How many sub-munitions could fit into such a small space?

However, seeing the Tyrannosaurus Rex chasing after him, its mouth agape, Bai Ye decided to stop worrying. What was the point of thinking so much? He would find out by trying!
