Chapter 257 The Strongest Shield

Bai Ye waved his hand quickly and said, "Go!"

Nian Mei Long let out a quick cry and followed Bai Ye, charging forward.

The demonic creatures continued to gather around, but Bai Ye's continuous attacks carved out a path, drawing the attention of Bomb Cat and Dun Shan.

Especially since Bai Ye's objective was clear: to move towards them.

Suddenly, a cat-shaped bomb was tossed into the sky and began to fall.

Boom!

The bomb landed with a deafening roar, and a sky-high inferno consumed everything, blasting the surrounding demonic creatures away.

Bai Ye couldn't help but rejoice. The other side had seen him and was providing cover.

"Nian Mei Long," Bai Ye said, holding out his beast-taming sphere. "You go back first."

Bai Ye recalled Nian Mei Long into the sphere, then looked into the distance, quickly locking onto a target. He instantly teleported to the area cleared by the bomb, and then spread his palm.

From Bai Ye's palm, Steel Slime continuously generated black bubbles, which then solidified, and seven flying swords appeared before him.

Seven-colored rainbow...

Bai Ye scratched his head. He couldn't see seven colors anymore. All the flying swords had turned as black as ink. However, as long as they could be used, their color didn't matter to Bai Ye.

"Kill!"

With the seven swords formed, Bai Ye waved his hand, and they flew rapidly, sweeping forward.

Demonic creatures leaped towards Bai Ye from all directions, but as soon as they neared him, their bodies were severed by the flying swords.

Instantly, limbs and severed arms flew everywhere.

Large amounts of blood splattered, scattering everywhere.

The air even began to fill with the smell of blood, and a faint mist of blood started to drift.

On the other side, Bomb Cat continuously threw smaller bombs. Their power wasn't as terrifying as the initial giant bomb, but after being thrown repeatedly, they sent the demonic creatures flying, forcefully clearing a path for Bai Ye.

Soon, Bai Ye cut through the horde of demonic creatures, covering a distance of about twenty to thirty meters. Bomb Cat threw another bomb, blasting the demonic creatures ahead away. Bai Ye immediately took the opportunity to lock onto them again, and then teleported instantly to Bomb Cat and Dun Shan's side.

Bai Ye chuckled, "Bomb Cat and Dun Shan? Weren't you two heading to Yun Zhong Mo Di? I heard there were bandits attacking the market there."

"Huh?" Bomb Cat blinked its eyes and looked at Bai Ye curiously. "You recognize us? How did you know we went to Yun Zhong Mo Di?"

"Sister Mulan told me," Bai Ye said. "I was knocked unconscious by the roadside a while ago..."

Bomb Cat interrupted, "So, Sister Mulan picked something up and brought it back, right?"

The word "picked up" was quite significant. Although Bai Ye wanted to refute it, it seemed that Bomb Cat wasn't entirely wrong.

"Gugu gua gugugugu..."

Dun Shan's eyes lit up, and he kept shaking his head.

Bai Ye looked bewildered. What did that mean?

Bomb Cat said, "He said he's very happy to see you."

Bai Ye was stunned. "You can understand that too?"

Bomb Cat replied, "After a while, you'll be able to understand too. Dun Shan is easy to get along with."

Bai Ye nodded. "Oh."

Bomb Cat threw a bomb and said, "So, why are you following us?"

Bai Ye explained, "I had some business and just returned to the Great Wall. Then I heard that demonic creatures were attacking the Great Wall. I wanted to find Sister Mulan but couldn't, and I saw you two leaving the city from the battlements, so I followed to see what was happening."

Bomb Cat said, "We're like you, just returned from Yun Zhong Mo Di. Upon hearing about the demonic creature attack, we are now going to find Sister Mulan."

Bai Ye asked, "Do you know where Sister Mulan is?"

"Sister Mulan received orders from General Su Lie to investigate the reason for the demonic creature invasion," Bomb Cat said, looking around. "An invasion of this scale is usually not ordinary. Without a reason, such a large-scale attack wouldn't be possible."

Bai Ye nodded. "So, do you know where Sister Mulan is?"

Bomb Cat replied, "Before we left, we sought out General Su Lie, and we know the general direction Sister Mulan headed."

Bai Ye asked, "Can you take me with you?"

"Of course!" Bomb Cat jumped up and patted Bai Ye on the shoulder. "You look strong. With you, it should be easier for us to break through."

Dun Shan nodded in agreement, "Gugugu gua gugugugu..."

Bomb Cat said, "He says you're welcome to join us."

Bai Ye smiled. "I'm very happy to join you."

Bomb Cat raised a bomb and pointed forward. "If that's the case, let's set off!"

Boom!

Bomb Cat threw the bomb in its hand forward again. Immediately, a huge roar sounded, and the bomb exploded, blasting the surrounding demonic creatures away.

Bai Ye took a deep breath, took a step forward, and then his whole body ignited.

"Phoenix Flame!"

Bai Ye punched forward, and the phoenix flame shot out, transforming into a pillar of fire that charged ahead.

The pillar of fire continued forward, engulfing the demonic creatures in its path, and then...

"Flame Burst!"

Bai Ye clenched his fist and made a grabbing motion forward.

Boom, boom, boom...

The pillar of fire exploded section by section, blasting the demonic creatures within the flames into pieces.

Bomb Cat looked extremely excited and said to Bai Ye, "Do you like explosions too?"

Bai Ye spread his hands. "So-so?"

Bomb Cat happily declared, "Anyone who loves the art of explosions is a friend of this meow."

Bai Ye replied, "The honor is mine."

Just then...

"Gugua gugugugu, gugu..."

Dun Shan suddenly looked up at the front and made a sound that Bai Ye couldn't understand.

Bomb Cat's gaze turned serious, and he looked forward. "Dun Shan says a powerful enemy is coming."

As soon as Bomb Cat finished speaking, suddenly, dense black dots appeared in the sky. Upon closer inspection, it was a large volley of arrows flying in with the wind, descending towards the three of them.

"Be careful!"

Just as Bai Ye was about to act, Dun Shan directly stood at the forefront.

Immovable as a mountain!

Dun Shan spread his arms. Immediately, the sound of mechanical gears turning came from his arms, and then huge shields appeared on his left and right arms.

Bang!

Dun Shan forcefully brought the two shields together and then slammed them onto the ground, standing there like a fortress.

The next moment, the arrow rain descended!

A greenish-blue light appeared in front of Dun Shan. As the arrows fell, ripples continuously appeared on the blue light, and the arrows were then deflected, unable to penetrate Dun Shan's defense at all.

Bomb Cat said proudly, "Dun Shan is the most solid shield of the Great Wall defenders!"
