Jin Sha didn't waste any time, quickly pulling Alex towards the door.
But, just as they were about to step out...
*Bang!*
Jin Sha felt a heavy blow to her head, sent flying by a punch. She landed on the ground, stars dancing before her eyes, a gash on her forehead bleeding.
"Come with me!"
A muscular man in a tank top grabbed Alex's shoulder and motioned for him to get into a nearby car.
Alex shrugged, unconcerned, and walked towards the car.
As long as he left this city, it didn't matter who got him out...
Did it make a difference to Alex?
Jin Sha gritted her teeth and got up, shouting, "Stop!"
The strongman turned back, raising an assault rifle and spraying bullets towards Jin Sha.
Jin Sha reacted quickly, diving to the side and taking cover behind a car. She then pulled out a beast ball and threw it.
"Scizor, hold the line!"
A flash of white light revealed a mantis-like beast. Facing the barrage of gunfire, it continuously swung its scythes. A series of metallic clangs followed as Scizor blocked every bullet with its scythes.
"Oh? So you're from the Beast Tamer World? Speaking of which, I haven't gotten my first kill of a chosen one from the Beast Tamer World yet. I really want to take you down here," the strongman said, pulling out a grenade and rolling it under the car. "Too bad, I have more important things to do now. I'll let you off the hook for now!"
Jin Sha heard the grenade roll and quickly got to her feet, sprinting forward before performing a dive!
*Boom!*
The next moment, an explosion ripped through the air.
With the blast, the entire car was lifted half a meter off the ground before crashing back down and erupting in flames.
Meanwhile, the strongman got into his car and sped away.
Jin Sha rolled to dissipate the force, then drew her plasma cannon, aiming it. Then, she remembered something and quickly put the cannon away.
If she fired, the opponent would be blown to smithereens along with the car. But the problem was, Alex would most likely be blown to smithereens too. If that happened, everyone would fail their mission because a dead Alex wouldn't count as having completed the task of getting him out of the city.
"Scizor!" Jin Sha shouted. "Follow them!"
Scizor nodded, spreading its wing-like appendages and quickly taking to the air, pursuing the car.
Jin Sha then turned to Rattata. "Rattata, wait for Bai Ye here!"
After speaking, Jin Sha quickly opened the door of a car and drove away.
At the same time...
Bai Ye fired for a while, but it was pitch black around him, so he had no idea if he had hit anything. He stopped shooting to listen for any movement.
It was then...
Bai Ye suddenly saw a cold glint flash past him!
A samurai sword swept past Bai Ye's chest, mere centimeters away. Bai Ye quickly grabbed the attacker's arm.
"Trying to play close combat with me?" Bai Ye grabbed the person by the collar and lifted them up. "Are you worthy?"
With his body enhanced by the T-virus and his powers strengthening his physique, Bai Ye was now very confident in his body's strength. With the two combined, all his stats except intelligence had surpassed a hundred. His physical capabilities were ten times that of a normal adult human, and Bai Ye was not afraid at all.
Then...
*Bang!*
After lifting the person, Bai Ye smashed them directly into a table nearby.
With a crash, the table instantly shattered into pieces.
The attacker, enduring the pain, scrambled up and darted to the side, trying to disappear back into the darkness.
Bai Ye snorted coldly and raised his fist. "Phoenix, Blazing Inferno!"
Flames wreathed Bai Ye's arm, and as he threw a punch, it transformed into a pillar of fire.
The pillar of fire shot forward, igniting many parts of the bar. Not only were the tables and chairs made of wood, but the strong liquor also fueled the blaze.
And with the light of the fire, Bai Ye could finally see the attacker's appearance.
"A ninja?"
It was a thin, rather short man, completely wrapped in black form-fitting clothing, his head covered by a hood, revealing only his eyes. He wielded a samurai sword, glinting sharply.
Seeing that he could no longer escape into the darkness, the ninja immediately turned and charged at Bai Ye again, raising his sword.
As the attacker lunged, Bai Ye flicked his wrist, a playing card falling into his palm and flying forward.
The ninja reacted with incredible speed, parrying the playing card with his sword.
But...
Seizing the moment the ninja was blocking the card, Bai Ye lunged forward.
"Still as a maiden, swift as a startled hare!"
Bai Ye reached the ninja and delivered a kick to his chest, sending him flying back again. Before the attacker could recover, Bai Ye picked up a round table from the side and brought it down with force.
*Bang!*
The ninja quickly curled up his body and used his foot to support the descending table. Then, he thrust his samurai sword upwards.
The samurai sword was no ordinary weapon; it easily pierced the tabletop and grazed Bai Ye's cheek.
Bai Ye glanced at the blade by his cheek, then twisted the table with all his might. The ninja's wrist immediately felt an excruciating pain, causing him to involuntarily drop the samurai sword. Bai Ye then tossed the table aside, along with the ninja's sword.
Without a weapon, the attacker's unarmed combat skills were no match for Bai Ye. After batting away the attacker's arm, Bai Ye grabbed him by his clothes and dragged him to the wall, then...
*Bang!*
Bai Ye forcefully slammed him against the wall.
After the impact, the ninja curled up in pain but was lifted again by Bai Ye grabbing his clothes.
"How did you find this place?" Bai Ye asked with a smile. "Did you follow the Royce family's car?"
The ninja did not answer, struggling desperately. Then...
A ferocious look flashed in the ninja's eyes. He suddenly tore open the sleeve of his right arm, revealing a short blade that dropped into his hand. He lunged towards Bai Ye's abdomen.
But, just as he was about to succeed...
*Slap!*
Bai Ye raised his hand and slapped the ninja across the face, dazing him. The ninja's body swayed, and the short blade, meant for Bai Ye's abdomen, missed its mark, grazing Bai Ye's body.
Bai Ye stepped forward, and while the attacker was still disoriented, he grabbed the ninja's hood and forcefully dragged him to the wall, smashing his head against it without hesitation!
*Bang!*
After a dull thud, the ninja lay on the ground, blood streaming from his face.
The next moment, Bai Ye squatted down, grabbed the ninja's wrist, and twisted it, forcing the short blade in the ninja's hand to stab towards the ninja's own chest.
...
