Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Female Live Streamer with Misaligned Values_1

"Could this woman have..." Su Xuan subconsciously glanced toward the room, thinking the argument had only died down because she had killed someone.

But the scene that greeted him made his jaw drop.

A man was squatting on the ground with the effeminate young man from earlier, and together they were plucking feathers from a silkie chicken! The chicken’s neck had already been slit. The blood on the woman’s knife was clearly from the bird.

Are they actually going to cook and eat the chicken together? Have they really made peace?

"Who is Mr. Lyu?" a voice called out. "Please sign for your delivery."

Su Xuan’s mouth twitched. His entire worldview was rocked.

"That’s me, that’s me!" the man immediately stood up and came over to sign for the package. He looked Su Xuan up and down. "Young man, you’re quite handsome. Why don’t you come in for a bit? Have some silkie chicken soup with us to build up your strength."

The effeminate young man chimed in, "Hey, are you the dedicated courier for this area? Can I get your number? I’ll call you next time I need to send something."

The woman added, "My husband and my best friend are both inviting you. Just come on in!"

"No, no, thank you!" Su Xuan immediately turned and fled.

He had seen his share of strange people and events while delivering packages, but this was a first. The delivery wasn’t even a special one. He decided to just continue his route to calm his chaotic mind.

Su Xuan picked up a package and looked at it. It was for Lin Tiancheng. He picked up another one. It was also for Lin Tiancheng. He grabbed a third, and it too belonged to Lin Tiancheng.

How much stuff did this girl buy? Su Xuan curled his lip and gave Lin Tiancheng a call. If she wasn’t in a hurry, he could just deliver her things last.

Lin Tiancheng was the female apprentice from his old job. The last time he had delivered a package to her, she had been in the middle of a live stream, dressed in yoga clothes.

The call connected. "Tian Cheng, I have three of your packages here," Su Xuan said.

"Haha, I deliberately bought a lot of stuff, just hoping you’d be the one to deliver it, Master," Tian Cheng replied cheerfully. "But I’m not home right now. Can you bring them over this afternoon?"

"No problem. See you this afternoon!"

Su Xuan continued delivering packages until the afternoon. Driving the Charman was incredibly fast, and getting into residential compounds was a breeze. The security guards would see his car wasn’t an ordinary vehicle and let him through without a second thought. By just four o’clock in the afternoon, he had finished all his deliveries.

However, Su Xuan had overlooked one critical calculation: the Charman’s terrifying fuel consumption. It was powered by a 6.8-liter V10 engine with 420 horsepower. If his only income came from being a courier, the Charman’s gas costs would bankrupt him.

"Tian Cheng, where are you now?" Su Xuan called her again. "I’ll bring your three packages over."

"Oh, I’m not home yet! I’m out shopping at Bai Cheng Mall!" she answered.

"Then I’ll drive over and find you," Su Xuan offered.

Tian Cheng cheered at the suggestion. "That’s great! I can drag you along with me, Master! Yay!"

Su Xuan felt a headache coming on. "Where are you, exactly?"

"I’m waiting for you in front of the Uniqlo on the third floor!"

Since Bai Cheng Mall wasn’t far, Su Xuan drove straight there. After parking, he made a point to change out of his courier uniform and into a set of clothes he had bought from Caranda. He wanted to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings. For instance, if someone saw him walking with the stunningly beautiful Tian Cheng, they might sneer and comment on how a mere courier could possibly afford such a gorgeous girlfriend. He couldn’t be bothered to reveal his status just to shut them up.

"Master, over here, over here!" As soon as Su Xuan reached the third floor, even before he reached their meeting spot, he saw Tian Cheng waving excitedly from a distance. "Wow, Master, you look so handsome today! Did you dress up like this just for me? I can’t help it, I have to drag you around every single floor to show you off!"

As he got closer, she immediately latched onto his arm, her beautiful eyes sparkling.

"As long as you’re happy," Su Xuan said with a helpless sigh.

"Let’s go to Uniqlo first and buy some sportswear! I want to start running to get in even better shape." With that, Tian Cheng, who already had a sizzling figure, pulled Su Xuan into the store.

「Meanwhile,」

A female influencer was hosting a live stream on the very same floor of the mall. She was average-looking in person, but with meticulous makeup and a level-ten beauty filter on her streaming app, she appeared to her followers as a great beauty with a score close to 90. Her main job was to shill products for quick cash. As long as the pay was good, she would promote even the shoddiest of goods. With over one hundred thousand followers, she never had to worry about finding buyers.

Today, she was promoting a luxury brand, hoping to raise its public profile and attract potential customers.

"Did everyone just see that?" she said into her phone. "A couple just walked into Uniqlo!"

To steer the conversation toward her luxury brand, she decided to make an example of Su Xuan and Tian Cheng. More importantly, Su Xuan was drop-dead gorgeous. He had a sunny disposition, yet his aura held a faint trace of melancholy. Combined with his flawlessly perfect features, he was a breathtakingly beautiful sight wherever he went.

The moment she saw him, she felt her blood rush downwards... oh, no! It was rushing to her brain! She was already dizzy with infatuation.

A dreamboat! He’s an absolute dreamboat!

If she could get him on camera, the viewership of her live stream would surely skyrocket. If she could also persuade him to buy something from the luxury brand she was working with, that would be even better. It would certainly send her product sales soaring. She was confident she could do it; she was a veteran at this, with plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Besides, Su Xuan was well-dressed. He probably wasn’t some broke nobody.

"Watch closely, everyone!" she announced to her stream. "I’m going to go interview that handsome young man! If he’s willing to spend money on better clothes for his girlfriend instead of something from Uniqlo, then it’s true love! If he’s not, he’s a jerk!"

Her words were deliberately inflammatory, but it was a standard tactic for her. In her worldview, love could absolutely be measured by material possessions. She even had a few slogans she used to brainwash her female followers:

"Men earn money for women to spend!"

"You can tell if a man loves you by how much money he spends on you!"

"A man’s job is to provide for the family; a woman’s job is to be as beautiful as a flower!"

"Men are born to pamper women; otherwise, they don’t deserve to be men!"

"A woman’s hands are for carrying luxury bags, not for getting dirty with household chores!"

"Giving birth is painful for a woman, like having twenty bones break at once! So what’s wrong with a woman spending her man’s money? Is that too much to ask? Is it?"

The influencer scurried into Uniqlo and found Su Xuan.

"Hey, handsome, can I ask you a question?" she asked, pointing her phone’s camera directly at him.

Before Su Xuan could even respond, her female fans went wild in the chat.

"Oh my God, this guy is insanely handsome!"

"More than handsome, his eyes are so captivating!"

"Is he some famous celebrity I don’t know about?"

"I can’t take it, I’m getting a taxi right now to see this guy in person!"

"You’re too late, I’m already on my way..."

"Someone get his WeChat! I want to send him pictures of me right out of the shower..."

Seeing the comments fly across the screen like a blizzard, the influencer smiled smugly. She had no idea, however, that this was the beginning of her nightmare.
