The Wu and the Yao each created a grand formation, and both the Twelve Ancestral Wu and Di Jun knew these formations were of similar power.
However, neither the Wu nor the Yao tribes knew this; they only knew their own tribe possessed a formation of immense might.
With each side believing their formation was peerless, they both felt the other could not possibly be their match.
Under this misguidance of information, the conflict between the two tribes grew increasingly severe, to the point where minor clashes erupted between the Great Wu of the Wu tribes and the generals of the Yao court.
The two tribes engaged in a fierce battle over a spiritual脉 (lingmai), with neither willing to yield.
Originally, the Wu tribe had been ordered by the Twelve Ancestral Wu not to hunt Yao for food, which had led to a brief period of peace between the two races.
Without the flesh and blood of the Yao to temper their bodies, the Wu tribe had to absorb spiritual energy from heaven and earth to refine their physical forms. This method was considerably faster than consuming the flesh and blood of the Yao, yet the Ancestral Wu had commanded it, and the Wu tribe had no choice but to obey.
Now, with the Yao tribe competing with the Wu tribe for the resources of heaven and earth for cultivation, the Wu tribe's anger was bound to rise. In their view, it was already a great honor to not be consuming the flesh and blood of the Yao, and they found the Yao's current actions incredibly disrespectful.
The Yao, on the other hand, believed that the Wu tribe, inherently lacking souls, was incomplete and thus unworthy of standing as equals with the Yao.
What had started as minor skirmishes between lesser Wu and lesser Yao escalated, drawing in even the Great Wu and the generals of the Yao!
The Great Wu of the Wu tribe were all dispersed among the twelve tribes, and since the tribes were situated far apart from one another, the Wu tribe was naturally no match for the Yao.
After their defeat, the Wu tribe immediately retreated to Buzhou Mountain to seek refuge with the Twelve Ancestral Wu.
Upon learning that the Wu tribe had been defeated by the Yao, the Twelve Ancestral Wu were enraged and personally led an assault to the very gates of the Yao court.
The Twelve Ancestral Wu vanquished all in their path. As long as Di Jun and Tai Yi did not intervene, no one could stop their advance.
Di Jun, upon learning that the Twelve Ancestral Wu were assaulting the gates of the Yao court, felt they were utterly disregarding the Yao court. Enraged, Di Jun personally went forth to meet the Twelve Ancestral Wu.
Di Jun also wished to test the might of the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation, and so he summoned the demons who were practicing it to accompany him.
While Di Jun led the demons to face the Twelve Ancestral Wu, Tai Yi also learned of the Ancestral Wu's assault on the Yao court. Fearing Di Jun might suffer a disadvantage, Tai Yi, accompanied by Chang Xi, also proceeded to the Southern Heavenly Gate to observe the battle.
Di Jun arrived outside the Southern Heavenly Gate and saw the Twelve Ancestral Wu blocking the entrance. Di Jun, furious, demanded,
"Twelve Ancestral Wu, what is the meaning of this? Do you wish for war between Wu and Yao?"
When the Twelve Ancestral Wu saw Di Jun's arrival, Di Jiang let out a cold snort and declared,
"War? And what if there is war? Do you truly believe our Wu tribe fears your Yao tribe?"
Di Jun, hearing this, became even more enraged.
"Since you wish to cause trouble, I shall oblige you to the end!"
With that, Di Jun roared at the demons behind him,
"Form the array!"
As Di Jun's voice fell, the demons behind him immediately summoned their Star Banners, and the Sun Star Banner appeared in Di Jun's hand.
Di Jun waved the Sun Star Banner, and the demons behind him immediately took their positions. The Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation had been practiced by Di Jun countless times; each demon knew precisely where to stand and what to do, as had been ingrained in their minds by these Star Banner masters. In a mere moment, the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation was assembled!
The Twelve Ancestral Wu, seeing this, dared not be careless. Upon witnessing Di Jun form the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation, they immediately stood together, stacking themselves as if in a pile.
And once the Twelve Ancestral Wu had fully piled together, they roared in unison,
"Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation!"
As their voices faded, ripples appeared on the surface of the mass of bodies formed by the Twelve Ancestral Wu, transforming into a colossal giant. This giant held an axe in one hand and a chisel in the other! It was none other than the phantom image of Pangu!
This Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation, after being perfected by Di Jiang, no longer required the other eleven Ancestral Wu to transmit power to Di Jiang to be activated. Instead, it utilized the physical bodies of these Twelve Ancestral Wu to bear the phantom image of Pangu summoned by the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation!
At the very instant the phantom image of Pangu appeared, Tai Yi, with Chang Xi in tow, arrived at the Southern Heavenly Gate.
Tai Yi gazed at the phantom image of Pangu, and an involuntary sense of awe welled up within him!
It was not just Tai Yi; all beings in the Primordial World felt an involuntary sense of reverence at the moment the phantom image of Pangu descended.
Di Jiang, looking at the phantom image of Pangu, felt a chill run down his spine, daring not to be careless for a single moment, for this was Pangu, after all!
The Twelve Ancestral Wu, observing the countless phantom stars summoned by the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation, narrowed their eyes, equally unwilling to be complacent. They could sense the terrifying power emanating from these phantom stars; even with their powerful Wu bodies, the Twelve Ancestral Wu felt that a single blow from these stars would be difficult to withstand!
Tai Yi glanced at the phantom image of Pangu summoned by the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation, then at the ethereal phantom stars on the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation, and quickly pulled Chang Xi behind him.
Tai Yi knew that neither the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation nor the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation was something he could contend with. He swiftly pulled Chang Xi away from the vicinity of these two formations!
As soon as Tai Yi had pulled Chang Xi to a safe distance, Di Jiang began to control the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation to attack the Twelve Ancestral Wu.
Di Jun bellowed,
"Stars move!"
The moment Di Jun finished speaking, the stars began to slowly drift towards the Twelve Ancestral Wu. Though the speed of these stars was not rapid, Tai Yi felt as if he were rooted to the spot, unable to move!
The phantom image of Pangu, seeing the stars approaching, tucked the chisel in its right hand to its waist.
Grasping the handle of the great axe with both hands, as the stars drew near, it raised its axe and brought it down with immense force. A beam of white light erupted from the axe blade, shattering all the stars!
As the stars were shattered, the demons within the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Furthermore, after unleashing this axe strike, the phantom image of Pangu's form significantly faded, and a trickle of blood also appeared at the corners of the mouths of the Twelve Ancestral Wu who were controlling the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation!
Di Jun, refusing to believe, poured his spiritual power into the Sun Star Banner once more. The stars that had been shattered by the phantom image of Pangu began to re-gather on the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation.
Di Jun roared,
"Star burst!"
As Di Jun's words fell, the stars once again surged towards the Twelve Ancestral Wu.
This time, it was different from the previous occasion. These stars, upon reaching the phantom image of Pangu, detonated directly. The impact of these self-destructing Star Banners sent the phantom image of Pangu staggering backward repeatedly.
And after the explosion of those stars, the injuries sustained by the demons within the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation worsened.
The phantom image of Pangu, forced to retreat repeatedly by the impact of the stars, became enraged. It raised its great axe above its head and seemed to roar!
Although the phantom image of Pangu’s mouth was open, no sound emanated from it.
The Twelve Ancestral Wu within the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation suddenly roared,
"Sky split!"
Everyone present was greatly alarmed, wondering if this Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation could indeed recreate the spectacle of the sky being split apart.
The moment the Twelve Ancestral Wu finished speaking, the phantom image of Pangu brought down its great axe with immense force. A blinding white light shot forth from the axe blade, charging towards the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation.
Everyone was blinded by this beam of white light, unable to open their eyes. When they could finally see, they witnessed the white light halt at the surface of the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation, seemingly poised to strike it.
Simultaneously, the Sun Star, the Taiyin Star, and the myriad of other stars summoned by the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation paused their advance at the surface of the Twelve Du Tian Shen Mo Great Formation, remaining motionless.
Just as everyone was pondering this unexpected stillness, a faint, ethereal voice suddenly echoed throughout heaven and earth,
"Enough!"
