Xu Qian's lips twitched as she turned around.
It was a bald, fat man and a teenager.
The teenager was tall and slender, and even his old-fashioned blue and white school uniform couldn't hide his cold, striking, handsome face.
Gu Fan's eyes, squeezed by fat, narrowed into a straight line. "Little sister, if you're smart, hand over all the money in your bank card, and my brother and I will spare your life. If you don't cooperate, then the money on you and you yourself will belong to us, hahahahahahaha..." This place was a blind spot for surveillance, and he often ambushed people here. Even if someone died here, the police wouldn't know.
Apart from the initial "hello," Jiang Huai said nothing more.
Xu Qian's lips curled into a cold smile. She hated this kind of Jiang Huai the most – not speaking up, not intervening, like a fool. If Jiang Shuo told him to take a woman, he would, and if Jiang Shuo told him to kill zombies, he would. He had no will of his own. Sometimes Xu Qian suspected he had a problem with his brain.
Xu Qian held her bank card up in her hand. "Then we'll see if you have the ability to snatch it."
[Reinforce Attack.]
[Ding, Host, Reinforce Attack has been activated.]
A powerful force surged through Xu Qian's body. She couldn't describe the feeling, only that she felt capable of killing five cows.
Gu Fan blinked, his eyes fierce. He then pulled a knife from his waist and charged forward, his fat wobbling.
Before he could get close, Xu Qian suddenly lifted her leg and delivered a spinning kick to Gu Fan's flabby stomach, sending him flying. A small footprint from her shoe was imprinted on his white T-shirt.
That kick directly caused Gu Fan's internal organs to bleed. He curled up, trembling.
Xu Qian's footsteps were light as she stepped on his shiny head and pressed down hard.
"Want to try again?"
"No more, no more," Gu Fan cried, both in pain and fear. He was terrified, never expecting this seemingly delicate woman to be so powerful.
"Oh? Perhaps you do?"
Xu Qian countered Jiang Huai's approaching hand, seizing it and, without giving him a chance, executed a perfect over-the-shoulder throw, slamming him to the ground.
The teenage Jiang Huai could not withstand such a forceful throw. He lay on the ground, motionless.
Xu Qian raised an eyebrow, looking down at Jiang Huai, who couldn't get up.
She hadn't expected him to be so weak before his abilities awakened.
She looked down at him from above. "Where's your brother?"
Xu Qian now only wanted to know where Jiang Shuo was. She wanted to chop him into eight pieces and feed them to the zombies.
Jiang Huai's brows furrowed. The intense pain throughout his body made it impossible for him to straighten up. He didn't want to speak, but then... his leg was kicked hard.
Jiang Huai parted his tightly closed lips. "I don't have a brother."
"I mean Jiang Shuo."
"Who is Jiang Shuo?"
What was going on? Ever since she met Jiang Shuo, Jiang Huai had always been by his side. Jiang Huai was usually quiet, and his awakened powers – strength-based and space-type abilities – made him the vice-captain. He was often out on missions and rarely returned to the base, so he wouldn't even know if she had died.
Xu Qian's face darkened. "What's your name?"
"Yan Huai."
"..."
"Never mind."
Xu Qian cast him a indifferent glance and turned to leave.
Did she hate him? Jiang Huai hadn't actually harmed her, except for hugging her to vent after missions. Anything she wanted, he could almost always satisfy.
So in her past life, Xu Qian had a strange sense of dependency on Jiang Huai.
"You bitch, I'll have someone kill you tomorrow!" Gu Fan only dared to shout loudly after Xu Qian had walked away.
Jiang Huai's dark eyes flickered as he watched Xu Qian's retreating back, remaining silent.
