"Ding dong."
The doorbell rang.
Xu Qian stood up and said, "Mr. Pei, it might be survivors. I'll go take a look."
"Alright."
Xu Qian bent down and looked through the peephole. It was a middle-aged couple with a son and a daughter, the girl and boy were about eight or nine years old.
She opened the door and went out to talk to them, not letting them in directly. Everyone had a chance of turning into a zombie now, and her most important task was to protect Pei Yuan's safety.
"Hello, I'm a rescuer sent by the base. Do you have any wounds?"
The woman's face turned pale and she said, "We don't have any wounds. We haven't gone out since the virus came."
The little girl hugged her father's leg and said, "Yes. Sister, we've been very good."
"Okay, please wait a moment. We'll depart for the base in 15 minutes."
The man asked urgently, "Why do we have to wait? Let's go now."

The man frowned, looking impatient. "Then let us go inside the house first."

The man's face turned ashen, and he shouted, "What is your number? I'll file a complaint against you when we get back."
The woman grabbed the man's hand and said, "What are you doing?"
Xu Qian gave a cold smile, "Suit yourself."
There was no point in reasoning with such a shameless person.
"Beep beep."
The car horn sounded.
The man sneered, "Is it your superior? I'll complain until they fire you."
This girl, only a teenager, was so arrogant. If she wasn't taught a lesson, she wouldn't know her place.
Gu Qing jumped out of the car, about to report to Xu Qian, but was stopped by a middle-aged man.
"You're her superior, aren't you? I want to complain about her. She's not protecting the people's safety. I demand she be removed from her post."
The man turned to Xu Qian and raised his eyebrows, thinking, "Let's see how I deal with you."

Was he kidding?
Mei Yuebai sneered upon hearing this. "Who gave you the audacity to complain about our Xi Xi Da Ren? You people aren't leaving. You can stay in this resort until the day you die."
His voice was sinister, like a venomous snake coiling around the body, chilling.
The two children were so scared they burst into tears.
"Daddy, I want to leave here."
"Daddy, I'm scared."
"Husband, I want to go."
The middle-aged man's face turned pale. He hadn't expected this young girl to have so much authority.
He looked at his wife's displeased face and his two wailing children, feeling a pang of guilt. Why had he offended someone over such a trivial matter?
The middle-aged man bowed his head and walked up to Xu Qian, apologizing.
"I'm sorry. Please forgive my momentary anger. My children and wife are waiting to go to the base. The children are still young and haven't had a good meal in days. I was just too anxious, which caused me to clash with you."
Xu Qian had no good feelings for such opportunistic people; they were all driven by self-interest.
