The second floor was not large, and a quick glance revealed the entrance to the base was not here.
But why would they design so many traps here?
Suddenly, there was a series of creaking sounds.
Xu Qian pulled Xiao Ping and they quickly hid in the corner of a desk.
Two men in black leaped down from the ceiling and carefully examined the broken edges.
"There are enemies."
"Quick, go report."
Xu Qian narrowed her eyes slightly and extended a wisp of mental energy to cover their crystal cores.
After the two fell to the ground, Xu Qian habitually reached for their clothes.
Xiao Ping's green eyes widened, and he quickly pulled her.
"What are you doing?"
Xu Qian glanced at him and said faintly, "We need to change into their black robes."
Xiao Ping was confused, wondering why they needed to change.
They had several sets of these black robes in their space.
Xu Qian explained, "The black robes here are different from those of the X Group. These have an insignia on them, they are... the Yu family's black robes."
"Just put them on, it's the right thing to do."
Xiao Ping nodded, not fully understanding, and then pulled her aside.
"Wait, I'll do it."
Xu Qian raised an eyebrow and stepped back as he wished.
This was perhaps the biggest difference between Xiao Ping and Xu Lu. Although Xiao Ping was also immature, he at least had some manly demeanor.
Xu Lu was truly a misguided younger brother.
The two changed into black robes and climbed up from where they had jumped down.
It was dark above, so dark they couldn't see their hands in front of their faces.
Xu Qian opened the map to check. The map showed no living people around.
Suddenly, with a *snap*, the lights came on.
Hundreds of men in black stood perfectly still in the room. They wore masks and were completely motionless, clearly not under anyone's control.
"System, can I take these robots into my space?"
"Ding, it will be of no use if you take them into your space. You need to find the controller to operate them."
Xu Qian scanned the room. So many robots; not taking them would be a boon to the Yu family.
With a thought, she put all the robots into her space.
The entire building had only three floors. This was clearly not the base entrance, but merely a storage place for robots.
Since they could store robots here, it meant the base was not far away.
Suddenly, a clamor of noise drifted in.
The two descended to the second floor and cautiously peered out the window. A large group of men in black were running out of the opposite building.
The leader looked so familiar?
Xu Qian narrowed her eyes and looked closely. Wasn't that Huang Wenkai?
He seemed to be encountered almost every time they went to the Yu family's base, indicating his considerable status.
He led his men rushing out, likely having discovered something...
"Xiao Ping, we need to speed things up."
With such a large contingent of the Yu family gone, wasn't this their opportunity?
The two quickly descended and ran towards the opposite building. Xu Qian opened her map, which indicated four or five people inside.
She gently shook her magic bell and quickly dealt with the few individuals who approached.
They were guarding two large doors hidden within the white walls. Without them guarding it, the concealment would have been completely undetectable.
Xu Qian's hands didn't stop moving because there were many people behind the doors.
"Xiao Ping, go open the doors."
Xiao Ping pushed, but it wouldn't budge. White light appeared in his hand, and with a slight dissolve, he easily opened the lock.
A blinding light assaulted them.
Both the person and the zombie couldn't help but squint.
The interior was brightly lit, and the large screen displayed ever-changing images.
The area was not large, and many people in protective suits stood frozen in place.
What were they researching?
It wasn't human, plant, or mutated beast.
Xu Qian picked up the experimental data from their hands and looked at it. Her lips twitched slightly.
"So, they're researching biochemical weapons."
