Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Panda-Eyed Young Master Lin
To say that she wasn’t shocked would be a lie. An Nan was so shocked she forgot how to react, with the man’s words continuously replaying in her mind — love at first sight? She’d never considered that a possibility.
However, it’s clear they weren’t on the same wavelength. An Nan thought their first meeting was at the ’Champs Elysees’, and Lin Mubai didn’t clarify.
Waiting for an answer was always torturous, but even such torment, he was willing to endure.
Finally, after a quarter of an hour, he heard her speak again, in a soft, undisturbed voice: "What if I still want to punch you?"
No tears or tantrums, no angry order for him to leave, nor did she ignore him. She just wanted to punch him. A smile curled once more at his lips, knowing he wouldn’t be sentenced to death; with that, he was relieved.
An Nan’s voice continued to ring in his ears: "Lin Mubai, stand properly for me."
Young Master Lin quickly stood up straight, not forgetting to bargain with her: "Uh, could you avoid hitting the face?" My face is how I make a living.
An Nan gave a cold snort, catching him by surprise with a punch to his left eye. She then pulled her fist back, satisfied with her handiwork: "Hm, not bad. You can leave now, I want to sleep."
What’s done was done. An Nan knew that crying wouldn’t help, plus, considering that the person she got involved with was someone she liked, it was preferable to being with a stranger she didn’t know. Once she thought it through, her heart was at ease. However, to punish this self-assured man, she felt it necessary to ignore him for now. In truth, the real reason was that An Nan was feeling quite shy at the moment. Just thinking about that night, even though she was drunk and remembered nothing, still made her feel embarrassed.
Having received An Nan’s special pardon, Lin Mubai quickly headed out of the room, his face showing a silly grin all the while.
Standing at the master bedroom’s door, Lin Mubai took a deep breath, a satisfied smile playing at his lips. However, his smile was so bright it pulled at his left eye, causing him to gasp in pain. He swiftly walked into the guest bathroom, looking at his silly grinning panda face in the mirror, feeling inwardly satisfied. It was as he expected; his left eye had turned into a panda eye.
Soon, a hint of distress replaced the smile on his face: "Damn it, how am I supposed to face people like this? If those bastards find out, they’ll laugh me to death."
Sometimes the very thing you fear comes to pass.
That night, Young Master Lin had a very peaceful and restful sleep.
The next day, the faint panda eye of the previous day had turned into a noticeable panda eye.
That afternoon, Young Master Lin received a call from Third Young Master Xi: "Young Master Lin, bring your wife and join us for a gathering tonight."
Without thinking, Lin Mubai refused: "Not going." His tone full of arrogance.
The other party didn’t mind, but there was a strange hint in his voice: "Fine, but don’t regret it."
Soon enough, Young Master Lin understood the deeper meaning of those words.
Half an hour after hanging up, he saw An Nan come out of the master bedroom all dressed up. He quickly approached her, sporting a fawning smile, which made his half-panda eye look even more comical. Inside, An Nan was already bursting with laughter, but her face remained as cold as ever, showing no extra emotion.
