Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Han Xiayang Didn’t Pick Up the Person
As the words fell, Lin Mubai hung up the phone without waiting for a reaction from the other side.
As soon as Han Xiayang heard the beeping from his phone, he was about to call back when his phone rang again: "Lin Mubai, you better give me a satisfactory explanation, or I’ll kill you."
The cold voice continued to reach his ears on the other side: "Wait a moment, you’ll find the answer by going online on your computer, and I’ll send you a photo. Tomorrow afternoon, go to the airport to pick someone up for me, then help take care of them for a few days."
Han Xiayang was initially unwilling, but upon hearing the weariness in the other’s voice, he asked with concern, "Mu Bai, what’s going on with you?"
"It’s nothing, I won’t say anymore. I’m about to board."
As the beeping sounds of the phone being hung up came through again, Han Xiayang sat on the bed, frowning, then suddenly thought of something, quickly got out of bed, went to his computer desk, and turned on the screen. As he finished reading the contents on the computer, his brow furrowed even tighter: "Damn it, what’s going on with this An Nan?"
The questions in his heart still hadn’t been answered, when the ’ding’ sound continued to come from his phone. Seeing the text message content clearly, he widened his eyes: "Damn it, what’s going on with this child?"
Those hidden truths were things Han Xiayang dared not even imagine, making the world seem even more surreal.
Thinking about it, anyhow, he’d find out everything upon meeting the child tomorrow. Thinking too much now is useless.
Throughout the morning at the company the next day, Han Xiayang was absent-minded, murmuring to himself about the little one he was supposed to pick up that afternoon. Who exactly would it be? Would it be difficult to handle?
When he actually rushed to the airport in the afternoon, he was utterly stunned.
Waiting for a long time at the exit without seeing that familiar figure, he started to get anxious. He grabbed a staff member coming out of the passage and asked, "Miss, are there any passengers inside?"
"No, could you let go of me first?" said the staff member, looking guarded.
He got the hint and quickly let go: "Sorry, Miss, is there really nobody inside?" Han Xiayang’s tone was hesitant.
Nodding affirmatively again, the staff member replied: "Sir, if you don’t believe me, you can go inside and check for yourself, but there really aren’t any passengers left inside."
"Oh, sorry, I understand now."
As the words fell, Han Xiayang turned and walked in the direction he came from. As he walked, he dialed someone’s number, but after a while, nobody answered the phone. He immediately got angry: "Damn it, if you want me to pick someone up, at least give me their contact info! How am I supposed to find them like this?"
After the phone rang several times with no answer, Han Xiayang stood in the bustling airport lobby, fiercely clutching his hair: "Damn it, what the hell am I supposed to do now?"
If the person in question were an adult, he would have already turned around and left by now. But since the person was a child, he couldn’t just leave them.
After contemplating, Han Xiayang found the airport’s broadcast room and used it to locate the person while also utilizing his connections for an investigation, but the result left him stunned. There indeed was a passenger named An Jiayou, but they hadn’t boarded the plane.
Not boarded, they hadn’t boarded! Then why did he need to pick them up?
Han Xiayang was instantly filled with rage, with nowhere to vent his anger.
