Chapter 86: Chapter 86: A person who looks just like you is being cyberbullied!

Ten minutes later.

The complaining rider finally calmed down when he realized that Qin Mu was ignoring him.

He lifted his head again, looked at Qin Mu, and pleaded once more, "I got a bit emotional just now. Your negative review means my whole day’s work was for nothing. Could you please call customer service and ask to withdraw the negative review..."

He hadn’t forgotten the purpose of his visit. As soon as he found out about the negative review in the rider section of the app, he hurriedly finished his other deliveries and rushed to Qin Mu’s place.

In their business, deductions in the industry were severe. The platform was like a vampire, constantly sucking the blood of both them and the merchants.

As a delivery rider, he ran through the city’s streets and alleys every day, regularly running red lights just to take on a few more orders. He had no social or housing insurance, and the platform would also deduct their subsidies and bonuses based on ratings, influence order assignments, and more.

Legally, the platform initially had no right to deduct the wages of employees or riders. However, the takeout platforms divided their earnings from each order into subsidies and bonuses, effectively finding a way to shortchange them.

Thus, a single negative review not only meant the loss of his income for that day but would also lead to increased difficulty in getting orders, reduced profit per order, and other repercussions.

"I’m begging you, please understand our situation. Just a call to the platform’s customer service to explain would do; the negative review has a huge impact on us..."

The delivery guy looked at Qin Mu, pleading incessantly.

However, Qin Mu shook his head indifferently. "I know it’s hard for you riders, but you took an hour over the expected time to deliver. Have you considered the customer’s feelings?"

"Sorry, I won’t cancel the negative review."

Having said that, "BANG!"

He turned around and slammed the door shut.

He was no saint; after being hungry for half a day, he couldn’t possibly forgive this delivery guy.

If that were the case... wouldn’t it mean always being at a loss when facing issues?

Some say that suffering a loss is a blessing. But that’s purely moral coercion; should one accept it willingly when their interests are harmed?

After closing the door, he sat down at the dining table and began eating his dinner.

This dinner turned out to be quite an ordeal; he didn’t eat until nearly 10 p.m.

「The next day.」

Qin Mu slept in unusually late, until eleven in the morning.

Today was the weekend. The elderly from the retirement home all went back to their families, enjoying time with their children. So he could rest until Monday.

Looking at the sunshine pouring in through the window, he felt a rare sense of leisurely contentment. He could finally rest well at home, free from those troublesome people and things.

I’ll order lunch first, then play some games in the afternoon.

After getting up, Qin Mu ordered takeout.

The life of a single man was that plain and unremarkable. Especially on days off spent at home, it practically revolved around takeout.

After the holiday was over, the pile of takeout trash could accumulate into a small mountain.

Half an hour later.

The braised chicken rice he had ordered arrived within the estimated time.

What he didn’t expect was that the person delivering the takeout this time was still the same delivery guy who had been late yesterday.

"Here’s your takeout."

It seemed that because of yesterday’s incident, this delivery guy was still holding a grudge. He spoke coldly, handed over the takeout, and left.

Qin Mu frowned. If only the delivery guy had been this efficient yesterday... he wouldn’t have gone hungry for over an hour, and he certainly wouldn’t have left a negative review.

He took the takeout to the dining table.

Just before he was about to start eating, he noticed that the takeout container seemed a bit loose.

Maybe the restaurant didn’t pack it properly.

He shrugged and didn’t pay too much attention to it.

Until he opened up the braised chicken with rice and found a glob of mucus in the chicken that was a different color from the food.

It was obvious that this mucus was not any part of the side dishes for the braised chicken. And it certainly wasn’t some sort of seasoning.

It looked a lot like human spit.

Seeing this, he felt an inexplicable wave of nausea and instantly lost his appetite.

What exactly is going on here? Did the restaurant do this, or did this delivery guy do it?

Qin Mu frowned and began to ponder. He had eaten takeout for so many years, and this was the first time he’d encountered something like this.

While he was hesitating about whether to call the restaurant, pop-up notifications from an app on his phone kept appearing, indicating that he had received many private messages from his fans.

Another update request? Didn’t I just post a video yesterday?

Qin Mu paused for a moment, then casually opened the private messages.

What he saw were dozens of messages, all telling him to watch a video.

"Creator, another creator has posted a video, and the guy in it looks like your long-lost twin brother!"

"The person who looks a lot like you has been cyberbullied, and he’s being harshly criticized in the comment section!"

"Creator, go check it out. I just had a few reasoned arguments with people in the comments and got bashed until I almost had a stroke."

"The enemy’s combat power is too strong; we can only call on you, Creator, to step in!"

Following these private messages were links to a video.

Curiously, he clicked on the video link.

The title of the video was "Life is hard, please be kind to our delivery guys," and it had been posted late last night.

The view count had already reached two million.

And the creator who posted this video had the nickname "takeout Xiao Liang" and hundreds of thousands of followers.

He’s actually a creator too?

Qin Mu paused again, somewhat surprised.

The profile picture of this takeout Xiao Liang’s account was indeed the delivery guy who had been an hour late with his delivery yesterday!

And at the beginning of the video, this delivery guy appeared on the screen and started talking about yesterday’s incident.

"Hello everyone, I’m takeout Xiao Liang.

"I used to update you guys frequently with funny stories from my deliveries, but today’s video is mostly about the hardships we delivery guys face.

"Just yesterday, I was late with a delivery order, and a customer gave me a negative review.

"I went to argue with him, but he just refused to remove the negative review.

"He doesn’t realize how much a negative review affects us riders. My rider account’s order dispatch has already been significantly reduced. The ten hours I worked yesterday were for nothing. It will take at least another three months of no negative reviews to recover my credibility score.

"Here, I just want to sincerely ask those customers who order takeout to be a bit more understanding of us. We are really trying our best, just earning a bit of hard-earned money.

"Your casually given negative review could cost us dearly.

"We earn our money with our own effort, without stealing or robbing. Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. I hope in the future people will not judge us with prejudice or discriminate against us. Giving a rider a negative review really does a lot of harm.

"The following is a video from when I went to communicate with that customer yesterday. No matter how I requested, he refused to remove the negative review..."

And then, in the latter half of the video, Qin Mu suddenly saw his own front door and himself appearing on camera!
