Chapter 55: Chapter Fifty-five: Knight in shining armor.
Elyria stood over Damien’s unconscious body, biting her lips as she took in the sight of his body. He was gorgeous, too perfect and she knew it. As one of the keepers of the realm, she was already alerted of a visitor in their world and had seen him through her clairvoyance.
Elyria squatted in front of him and placed her palm on his already bare chest. She traced the lines on it before her eyes shifted to his side where part of the dragon’s arm was visible. Elyria smiled at it, amused. "So he liked tattoos huh? So manly..." she thought, biting her lips at him.
"Hey, don’t you think it’s rude to harass someone especially when unconscious?" Lio said smirking.
Elyria bit her lip, not moving her eyes from his body for a bit. "Oh be quiet. I only stunned him for a bit."
"Uhm...and why would you do that?"
She shrugged her shoulders and straddled the body. "Because he’s hot."
Lio scoffed at her before dragging her away from him. He grabbed Damien’s arm, hurled him over his back and hurried up the stairs like he weighed nothing.
Once upstairs, the view was nothing special. It was old but the antiques and paintings were older. It was like the house had been buried in time since the stone age. Lio walked towards one of the rooms and pushed it. The door creaked open and a scanty room with just one bedding came into view. He strode towards it and placed Damien on the bed that creaked at his weight.
"I’d love to make that bed creak more with me and him on it." Elyria said, leaning against the door frame. Lio just rolled his eyes at her statement. He still didn’t understand how such things easily fell from her lips without an inch of shame.
Lio turned around, running his hand through his hair to push it away from his face. "Don’t bother him." he said sternly. "There’s a reason why my senses drew me to him."
Elyria stopped her flirty eyes from undressing him and looked serious. "What reason?"
"He has the mark."
"You mean the..."
"Yes. The dragon mark."
"Oh..."
Lio strained his eyes at her, tilting his head. "Did you know?"
"Yeah."
"But ho-" Lio said in surprise before it hit him. "Elyria!"
"What?!"
"Did you go over his body?"
"No! I only saw the arm. I didn’t know it was the—"
"Yeah right." Lio said, rolling his eyes again.
"I’m serious!" she yelled, trying to defend herself. Yeah she liked men but what did he take her for?!
Lio sighed and pinched the bridge between his nose. This woman...
"Do not do anything to him. Understood? If you’re in the mood, go to the human world and satisfy yourself."
Elyria shot him a death glare and grumbled at him. Just who does he think he is? Saying nothing else, Lio strutted to the door where Elyria leaned. He walked out, took her arm, shut the door and dragged her away.
Damien woke up to find himself in a dingy room. He sat up immediately but felt a sharp pain race through his chest. A loose, brown shirt with incomplete buttons at the top was on his body. Groaning, he pulled off the bedding from himself, got up and walked towards the small window by the side.
The sky was still as unnaturally orange-red as it had been when he first arrived. So there was neither day nor night in this realm? Sighing, he slid the window back to its position and strode towards the door. At the door, his hand paused on the doorknob. Wait, I never had a shirt on and my pants weren’t so loose since I got here. How...?
Anger rippled through him and he grabbed the door, flinging it open that it almost broke from the force. The audacity!
Once downstairs, Lio was the first person to see him. "You finally woke up sleeping prince."
"What did you do to me?" Damien demanded, cutting to the chase.
"That would be me." Elyria piped up from a small corner. She had seen him storm down the stairs and was scared he might notice what she had done to him.
"A simple thank you would have sufficed."
Damien turned his gaze to her.
"Did you tamper with my clothes?"
Elyria smiled cheekily at him. "What? They were dirty and I wanted you to have a good night." she said, swaying her hips as she walked towards him.
Her fingers lightly traced his arm, moving upwards slowly to his chest. "Every single part of you is... beautiful." Damien grabbed her hand and tossed it aside, sending her falling to the ground pathetically.
"You have the audacity to touch me with your filthy hands?" he growled at her, squatting over her fallen body. He reached out and grabbed her shoulders, squeezing it hard. Elyria whimpered at his touch, moaning pleasantly at him.
"Yes baby... touch me more." she moaned seductively, arching her body to him and sticking out her tongue. Lio just stood there the whole time, trying desperately to hide his laugh. He hadn’t even bother to do anything when Damien had shoved her because he knew the kind of woman she was. Instead of him causing her pain, she’d make him regret even thinking of it.
Disgusted, pushed her shoulder away and got up, irritated and nauseated. What a shameless woman!
Getting up, Damien turned around to find Lio stifling a laugh. His hardened face immediately sent him the message of death and Lio had no choice but to stop.
"Alright then. Enough of that." he said, walking towards the sofa and sitting down.
Damien followed him and sat on the chair opposite his. "Good. Now can I know why I’m here?" he asked, still hardened.
Lio shot a look at Elyria who was still on the floor. Without wasting another second, she dashed into a room and returned soon after with a small book. She handed it to Damien and he started flipping towards it the moment it was in his hands. A deep frown appeared on his face. How was this even possible? Lio, as if reading his mind, looked at him questioningly.
"Do you understand its content?"
"Yes...but how?" he asked confused. " I’ve never seen this writing before."
Elyria looked at Lio knowingly before coming to sit beside him. Both of them had serious looks on their face as they looked at him. Damien glanced from the book to their faces then closed it.
"Why? What is it?"
"Prince Damien..." Lio started with every seriousness in the world. The playful, silly boyish smile was long gone. He didn’t even look like the same person he’d met.
"Do you know what book you just read?"
Damien frowned at his question. Was he joking? But he didn’t look like he was even a bit.
"No I don’t." he answered simply.
"But you understood it?"
"Where are you heading with this?"
"You have the blood in your veins, prince."
"What nonsense are you talking about? Explain clearly!" he growled at him.
Elyria, unable to take it anymore, blurted out. "You are one! You’re the dragon sent by the gods to avenge us according to the prophecy. You’re the one to free the rest of our kind locked in your lands!"
The words hit him sharper than any blade, stripping off any words left to say. Silence thicker than anything draped the room for a few minutes. Suddenly, Damien started laughing. It was the first time in so long that he had laughed so heartily before even when he was with Elena.
After a few seconds, the laughter seized as quickly as it had come. Then a scoff followed. Elyria, who was never one to stop smiling had a deep scowl on her face.
"Do you think we’re joking?" she said displeased.
Damien rested his hand on his arm. "Well do you think I should believe that crap?" he fired back, not smiling either.
Elyria scoffed at him. How dare he thinks this was just a joke. She was about to get up when Lio put out his arm in front of her. Elyria, knowing what that meant, settled down on her seat, turned her face away and folded her arms pouting.
"I understand why this may seem unbelievable to you but you shouldn’t—"
"Oh enough with that load of nonsense. I’m not buying it."
Elyria turned her head to him like someone had slapped her hard across the face. In a flash, she stood right in front of him with a dagger. She was about to stab his arm when a rushing force sent her flying backwards.
"Control yourself Elyria!" Lio yelled in anger.
"He’s making fun of Sissy!" she screamed in vexation.
Fuming, she lunged at Damien again with her dagger stretched out. He sat rooted to the chair, unable to move when all of a sudden a ripple of energy burst forth from his hand, sending a massive wave of blackened small spears out of his palm. The spears were shot towards her in a flash and she tried to dart away from them.
Two ended up grazing her skin but they were quick to heal up. Lio
looked on flabbergasted at what had just happened.
"He is the one...he is the one!"
