Chapter 81: Games:

While Jiang Huaiyue and Hong Ye were out, Shen Wuxiao found himself bored and decided to play some games. His villa by the bay was enormous, filled with all kinds of entertainment—there was a gym, a karaoke room, a private movie theater, a cosplay room, and of course, an e-sports room.

He started a game of League of Legends, choosing Irelia as his top lane champion. Shen Wuxiao played with great enthusiasm, but the more he played, the more frustrated he became.

Seeing his teammates’ poor performance, he angrily typed in the chat:

“Grandma said: What the hell are you doing, God of War Daddy? Toss a sausage on the keyboard and even a dog would play better than you!”

After a while, Jiang Huaiyue and Hong Ye returned. As soon as they walked through the door, they heard Shen Wuxiao cursing at his screen.

Curious, Hong Ye rushed over to see what was happening. She found Shen Wuxiao furiously typing away at the keyboard. When she looked closer, she nearly burst into laughter at what he had written:

96-Year-Old Loves 6..9 (Blade Dancer): “Are you on a 2G network, War God Daddy? You disconnected five times in ten minutes! Didn’t even make it to one team fight!”

God of War Daddy (Blasting Genius): “I’m in Kunlun Mountain. The signal here is bad… hehe.”

Cute Girl Guo Degang (Dragon Blood Warrior): “You call that Kunlun Mountain? You’re just a dumbass. Go train for two and a half years before logging in again!”

White Belt is Very Abnormal (Soul Chain Warden): “Keep going. If we keep this up, the enemy’s going to ask to be your disciple.”

God of War Daddy (Blasting Genius): “Haha! In battle, there’s only death—never surrender!!!”

My German Feet Stink, Who Is Levin (Glory Executioner): “You’re 0-8 and still want to fight? You’re fighting like a damn waffle!”

All four teammates ganged up on “God of War Daddy.”

God of War Daddy (Blasting Genius): “You talk big online, but your life and death are unpredictable in real life. I may be 0-8 in the game, but in reality, I’m countless-0!”

The Vaginal Discharge is Very Abnormal (Soul Chain Warden): “Oh please, stop with your nonsense. You’re a support, go lock your daughter in a dog cage!”

The chat was going wild, and then a message popped up:

“God of War Daddy has left the game.”

Shen Wuxiao was stunned. That teammate actually quit after getting roasted so hard. Naturally, the match ended in defeat.

Hong Ye was laughing uncontrollably on the side. She originally planned to help Jiang Huaiyue clean up the dishes, but since it was still early, she decided to play a game with Shen Wuxiao.

“You’re all noobs. I’ll carry you!” she said, turning on the computer beside his.

She used to game with Shen Wuxiao often, but after she started working, she barely had time anymore. As she logged into her account, she began chatting excitedly.

“Our bot lane combo is unstoppable!”

“You’re my support, Ashe!”

Shen Wuxiao blinked. “Huh? Uh… love… I mean… you didn’t even let me pick first!”

“Ah???”

Hong Ye paused, momentarily confused.

Shen Wuxiao just smiled and brushed past it. “I like a good fight in the top lane. I’ll go top with Nasus. What about you?”

“What?”

“Uh…” Shen Wuxiao turned his head awkwardly.

Hong Ye fell silent. She finally understood.

Even in a game, he was taking advantage of her. What a bastard! Always looking for ways to tease her.

Shen Wuxiao just chuckled to himself. But soon, he noticed her in-game ID had gone online.

“The male monkey with a super strong sphincter in Mount Emei secretly ate his late wife’s tribute in the middle of the night and had diarrhea. Is now online…”

“…Why is your name so long?”

“Oh, I called the game company and asked them to change it for me.”

“I want to change mine too. I’ll call it: ‘96-year-old man with long eyelashes meets a 69-year-old giant lizard eating a fat pig alive in the wild…’”

They exchanged a glance, both grinned, and jumped straight into another match…

At the same time, in Longguo, inside a temporary camp at the foot of Kunlun Mountain, Ye Qingfeng sat in front of a computer struggling with poor network connectivity. Watching the loading screen stall, his frustration mounted.

“The signal here is terrible,” he muttered.

“I’ve worked so hard for so many years, finally got a bit of time to relax and play a game—and I still get cursed out!”

Though frustrated, Ye Qingfeng wasn’t angry. After all these years, he had become calm and steady. Very little in the world could truly upset him anymore.

When the network connection failed again, he gave up. He stepped out of the tent, stretched his arms wide, and let the cold wind of Kunlun Mountain brush against his face.

“Ha… the air of home.”

He hadn’t always been here. For the past five years, Ye Qingfeng had been carrying out a classified mission abroad. Just yesterday, it was finally completed, and his team returned to Dragon Country, temporarily settling at Kunlun Mountain to prepare for the award ceremony two days later.

After standing quietly for a while, Ye Qingfeng reached into his inner pocket and pulled out a small stuffed bear.

It was old, but well-kept and very clean.

Looking at the palm-sized plush bear, a gentle smile appeared on his otherwise stern face. It had been his daughter’s first toy—one she used to clutch tightly in her crib. Every time he saw it, he could almost hear her baby babbling and laughter.

To anyone else, this toy was worth only a few bucks. But to Ye Qingfeng, it was priceless. It carried his longing for his daughter and had become a symbol of his will to survive.

There were countless moments when he faced death—but this little bear always reminded him of what he was fighting for.

“It’s been five years, my sweet girl. Daddy’s coming back to you soon,” Ye Qingfeng said softly.

His gentle words seemed to warm the icy winds of Kunlun.

After a while, he tucked the bear away again. His expression hardened, and a chilling murderous aura surfaced in his eyes.

His daughter meant the world to him. But the woman he loved… was gone forever.

The one responsible was still alive.

It had happened six years ago.

Back then, his cousin Ye Qingyun, in a bid to seize the family inheritance, had conspired with Ye Qingfeng’s fiancée, Ji Yuelei, to frame him. They drugged him, intending to make him commit a crime against an innocent woman—and then use it as evidence to have him eliminated.

But Ye Qingfeng survived the setup with sheer willpower. Though he tried to resist, the drug eventually overcame him. In the end, a kind-hearted girl saved him—but in his dazed state, he accidentally killed his savior.

That night… she didn’t resist.

That night… he hurt her.

When he awoke, there was blood on the sheets, and the girl had vanished. He tried to find her to make amends—but in the end, he gave up.

He didn’t dare.

He couldn’t risk dragging her into his chaos.

His treacherous cousin inherited the family title, defected to the Shen family in the capital, and became their lapdog. Ye Qingfeng couldn’t match their power and was soon marked for death.

For an entire year, he lived in hiding.

Then, someone powerful stepped in. In exchange for completing a dangerous overseas mission, Ye Qingfeng was secretly protected and given a way out.

That mission lasted five long years…
