Chapter 50 - 7: Golden Carp 1

Chapter 50: Chapter 7: Golden Carp 1

The clear river water flowed swiftly.

Su Ziyu sat by the river with a fishing rod, next to him was Pick, who looked a bit disheveled and comical but had a very serious expression. At this time, he was very quiet, just occasionally turning his head to glance at Su Ziyu, while the fish basket at Su Ziyu’s feet already contained seven or eight fresh river fish, he had yet to catch a single one on his side.

"Whose words are true?"

Su Ziyu furrowed his brow in thought. Jack told him that all the witches had gone mad and that he should leave today, but just as he started to say he was leaving, the Great Elves underwent some very strange changes. His intuition told him that if he insisted on leaving now, something dangerous might happen, so he changed his mind and stayed.

The mysterious woman who appeared in the dream seemed to be a witch. She didn’t look like a lunatic, and even set a challenge for Su Ziyu, having him face a super mutant in the Dream Realm once again.

What she wanted to test was unclear.

Before leaving, she left some incomprehensible words and told Su Ziyu to find her by the river at midnight.

Both of these people seemed unreliable.

But to find out everything here, Su Ziyu could only look for a breakthrough with them. He just didn’t know who was more trustworthy, the strange Jack or the mysterious witch.

Jack was indeed Pick during the day.

It seemed he knew nothing about Jack. This person was a bit different from the other Great Elves. When he said he was leaving, all the other Great Elves suddenly became like puppets, only he was still standing behind Su Ziyu, chattering incessantly, seemingly unaware of everything around him.

This strange situation was giving Su Ziyu a headache. He would rather face a super mutant again than deal with such an elusive situation.

"It seems being a Space-Time Inspector is really not an easy job." Su Ziyu felt a movement in the bait, he casually pulled it up, and soon a lively river fish was caught.

Next to him, Pick watched in amazement, staring at Su Ziyu’s bait, then at his own fishing rod, scratching his head in frustration.

"This is impossible! Why are there always fish on your side, and not a single one on mine?" Pick muttered softly.

Su Ziyu looked at him and said casually, "Shall we switch positions?"

"Okay!" Pick jumped up happily, waddling over to Su Ziyu’s side.

Rebellious Pick.

He was a chatterbox and the only Great Elf here who had left the Dream Forest, liked to call himself the brave Pick, and often talked about the Chessboard Realm, but when asked about details, he would become evasive, always saying he couldn’t remember.

The other Great Elves said he was boasting, a liar, a big fraud, but he wasn’t angry at all, just stubbornly insisting that he really had been there.

Su Ziyu didn’t know if he had really been to the Chessboard Realm because he seemed more like hearsay than personal experience. If someone had indeed left the Dream Forest and went to the distant Human Realm, Su Ziyu felt it was more like the Jack who appeared at night, that guy had a bit of an adventurer’s vibe.

During this period.

Su Ziyu felt a fish biting again.

He instinctively wanted to lift it up but suddenly felt a strong pull, nearly losing the fishing rod from his hand.

"Wow!"

"It seems like a big one!" Pick exclaimed excitedly.

Su Ziyu also felt a big catch, he stabilized himself and stood up, carefully exerting force, slowly pulling up the fish with a series of reeling and releasing. His fishing skills were average, but fortunately, Pick’s rod was quite sturdy, and the hook didn’t slip off despite the strong pull.

"Gold...Golden! ...It’s a Golden Carp! ..."

"Oh my god!"

"You actually caught a Golden Carp! ..." Pick’s expression mixed with excitement and a bit of frustration because Su Ziyu had just switched places with him.

Golden Carp?

It really was a golden carp!

This fish had great strength, even a Great Elf might not have been able to catch it, but with a little effort, Su Ziyu lifted it up. This Golden Carp weighed about five or six pounds, the scales were pure golden yellow, he had never seen a carp so close to the color of gold before.

"Oh my god!"

"You’re truly a lucky guy!" Pick’s expression was full of envy.

Su Ziyu was also a bit dazed at the moment, not expecting to catch a Golden Carp himself.

What did Pick say earlier in the morning?

If you catch a Golden Carp, would you receive the blessing of the river fairy?

Is that what it means?

Su Ziyu thought and looked around, even scanning the river surface carefully, but unfortunately, he didn’t see the fairy’s figure, which made him a bit disappointed.

Is there really a fairy here?

He’s never seen a fairy before!

Su Ziyu turned to ask Pick how to get the fairy’s blessing, but saw that his comical face was now full of horror, as if he had seen something extremely terrifying. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead in an instant, and his body trembled slightly, but he seemed to have lost the strength to run away.

A creepy sensation came from behind.

Su Ziyu almost instinctively placed his hand on the hilt at his waist, then felt a piercing cold, followed by a ghostly female voice: "Give me that Golden Carp! ..."

He was stiff all over at the moment, slowly turning around bit by bit.

Then, he saw a slender figure cloaked in black, her scarlet pupils gazing at him, beneath the black eyeshadow were two tattoo-like black snakes, a greedy look of desire spread over her pale face as she licked her red lips slightly, as if she could hardly wait. Her long dark purple hair fell to her chest, where she wore a snowflake-shaped pendant, emitting a chilling aura from her body, the nearby lake surface was even freezing at a visible speed.

Witch!

The mad witch spoken of!

Su Ziyu had no idea when she appeared, nor how she approached so stealthily.

But from her, Su Ziyu sensed a very dangerous aura, a darkness even more terrifying than a super mutant. Although her beauty was enchanting and alluring, just looking at her caused a stabbing pain in Su Ziyu’s spirit, his eyes felt as if pricked by needles. He didn’t know if it was an illusion, but he even saw black mist seeping out of her body.
