Chapter 56 Separate Actions

Fang Miaomiao generously bought large lobsters for all five children, just like the shop owner had described.

Cui Yongsi politely said, "Thank you."

Wen Yanan, though silent, followed Fang Miaomiao like a shadow.

"Miaomiao, there are about forty to fifty people in the production crew. I have a feeling that over ten thousand yuan won't be enough. The five large lobsters alone cost over a thousand," Cui Mantong said with a headache.

"It's fine, I have a plan," Fang Miaomiao reassured her. "A seafood feast is simple enough. If you trust me, I'll take care of everything from now on, how about it?"

She was doing this out of consideration for Cui Mantong's kindness and because the two children had worked so hard. She wanted to make a dinner as a reward, as rewards shouldn't just be words; otherwise, it would be like drawing a cake, and if she drew too many cakes, the children wouldn't believe her anymore.

By cooking a meal herself as a reward, she could then legitimately ask the children to help her with tasks in the future.

"I absolutely trust you."

"Aunt Miaomiao, I believe in you. Under your leadership, we will definitely complete this mission successfully."

Fang Miaomiao, praised to the skies, waved her hand grandly, "It's all on me today. I guarantee you all will be dumbfounded."

Wen Yanan glanced at Cui Yongsi, who gave him a slight smile.

Wen Yanan said nothing and followed behind Fang Miaomiao.

"Boss, I'll take twenty jin of this."

"And this too."

"This, and this."

"Oh, right, boss, do you know where I can buy flour nearby?"

The shop owner paused, "What do you need flour for?"

"To make steamed buns," Fang Miaomiao replied honestly. "The prize money we won isn't enough for fifty people to have a seafood feast."

So, the best approach was to supplement with other things, like staple foods that could quickly fill people up.

The shop owner smiled and nodded, then gave Fang Miaomiao directions, "Go left for 200 meters, there's a farmers' market with vegetables and other things."

Hearing this, Fang Miaomiao's eyes lit up. "Sister, you're my savior! A true representation of beauty and kindness. I'll definitely bring my friends to patronize your seafood shop more often in the future."

The shop owner shyly scratched her head, "I'm not as good as you say."

"Sister, believe in yourself. You are truly excellent. I have a premonition that you will find a man who loves you and live happily ever after."

"I accept your kind words," the shop owner said with a smile, and handed Fang Miaomiao an extra lobster. "When you find him, I'll treat you to a meal."

"Oh yes, yes!"

The group, carrying their bags of seafood, headed towards the farmers' market again.

The arrival of the cameras drew the attention of various stall owners, but most people just glanced up briefly before returning to their work.

Fang Miaomiao wished she could walk down the street unrecognized. "Due to time constraints, let's split up. We'll meet back here after buying what we need, okay?"

"Sure."

"Camera crew, could you please help us watch our things?"

The cameraman nodded.

Fang Miaomiao quickly jotted down a list of what they needed. Then, two adults and two children went their separate ways.

[I don't know why, but I'm starting to see Fang Miaomiao in a new light. My dad is a chef, and I specifically asked him. Fang Miaomiao's decision can indeed feed over fifty people.]

[Me too. I feel like I'm about to become a fan.]

[Heh heh, this is just a variety show script. You guys actually believe it? Someone as dim-witted as Fang Miaomiao could quickly arrange all this? Who would believe it without a script?]

[Administrator, can someone tag the administrator? Get them out here, there's another disgusting person here.]

Behind the screen, a person stared intently at the monitor, the faint blue light from the screen casting a ghastly, terrifying expression on their face.

Damn it, who dared to oppose him? Very well. They want to bully his goddess to support Fang Miaomiao, that wicked-hearted woman, do they? Then they shouldn't blame him for not being polite.

With that thought, his fingers flew across the keyboard.

Moments later, a message slandering Fang Miaomiao once again surged to the top of the trending list.

...

"Miaomiao, the mission is successfully completed."

"I bought mine too."

Fang Miaomiao took out a tissue and bent down to wipe the sweat from Wen Yanan's forehead. "An'an, you did very well."

"Sisi, here are some tissues for you." httpδ:/m.kuAisugg.nět

"Thank you, Aunt Miaomiao."

Upon returning to the courtyard, the group who had gone foraging for seafood had not yet returned.

"Director."

Chen Tianming walked out of the studio with a smile. "Oh my, how could I possibly let you spend your own money?"

"In that case, should I take it back?" Fang Miaomiao's lips curved upwards as she smiled. "Director Tianming, you must have seen how well I got along with the seafood market owner."

Chen Tianming's mouth twitched, his eyes unwilling to move away from the bags. "Miaomiao, what you're saying is, the items are already bought, so there's no reason to return them."

"You want to eat?"

Chen Tianming smiled without speaking. It was a joke. A seafood feast, who wouldn't want to eat that? He had originally thought Fang Miaomiao and her group wouldn't be able to complete the mission. Who knew they would have such incredible luck, winning 2000 yuan in a lucky draw, and even Wen Zhiyan was backing her up.

What's more, Fang Miaomiao genuinely had skills, and together with Cui Mantong, they had won all the first and second prizes.

"If you want to eat, then you can help out, right?"

Chen Tianming was about to refuse when Fang Miaomiao interrupted him.

"Director, we went shopping, competed, and are already very tired. Look at these two children, they're exhausted. They are just children, we can't keep making them work, can we?"

Fang Miaomiao pointed at the camera. "Director, this is live streaming right now. It wouldn't look good if word gets out that you're bullying women and children, would it?"

"Furthermore, working together not only brings a sense of happiness and participation, but it also promotes the glory of labor. Isn't that a good thing?"

The more Chen Tianming listened, the more he wanted to roll his eyes. How could Fang Miaomiao make being lazy sound so... irresistible? Her silver tongue was getting more and more impressive.

"Wait a minute. We need to be clear about this first. We'll only be assisting. You'll still be the head chef."

Fang Miaomiao readily agreed, "Of course."

Only then did Chen Tianming get up and arrange for a few people who knew how to cook to assist Fang Miaomiao.

[I'm so envious! What kind of show am I even watching? Is it "A Bite of China"? Honestly, I'm craving it.]

[Fang Miaomiao's skills are impressive. Her speed and everything are so fast. Oh no, if my mom saw this, she'd probably scold me again.]

[I'm just thinking, why doesn't the director let some viewers participate? My knife skills are good, provided I also get to taste Fang Miaomiao's cooking.]

[Hahaha, I can hear the calculations of the person above from here in City A.]
