Chapter 63 Your Parents Want You Home

Leaving the photography studio, Fang Yanhuan's face darkened instantly.

She hadn't expected that after just two episodes of the variety show, Fang Miaomiao would have won over Chen Tianming. The thought of him speaking of Fang Miaomiao with an endless smile in his eyes made Fang Yanhuan feel suffocated.

She couldn't understand where Fang Miaomiao got her incredible luck. She had lived her early life like a pampered princess, getting whatever she wanted. Even after being kicked out, she was fortunate enough to marry into the Wen family.

Initially, she didn't pay much attention. After all, she had subtly probed Wen Wenlan and knew that although Fang Miaomiao had married into the Wen family, she wasn't favored. She barely attended the weekly Wen family banquets.

However, not long ago, she learned from Wen Wenlan that Fang Miaomiao was ill. It wasn't just that her husband flew back from abroad to be with her; even the elder agreed to let Fang Miaomiao recuperate at Yu Yuan.

It was important to note that after the Wen children grew up, they were not allowed to live in Yu Yuan, ostensibly to foster their independence. Even Wen Wenlan, known as the "Crown Prince of Wen," didn't have the privilege of staying overnight in Yu Yuan.

Yet, Fang Miaomiao not only stayed overnight but also for several days. This made her, who was called the future crown princess, anxious.

After all, no matter how much Wen Wenlan liked her, he had never brought her to Yu Yuan for a family banquet. Fang Miaomiao, the fake heiress, was staying there.

How could this be tolerated?

There was nothing else she could do but cling to Wen Wenlan, asking him to find a way to get her into this show. At first, it was fine, as Fang Miaomiao usually ignored her.

It wasn't until later, when she discovered Fang Miaomiao cooking in the kitchen, that she froze.

This was a joke. She had spent time with Fang Miaomiao before; she knew better than anyone if Fang Miaomiao could cook. Fang Miaomiao was very pampered, like a young lady in ancient times who wouldn't lift a finger for chores. She never looked at people directly, which was one of the main reasons Fang Yanhuan disliked her so much.

So, she used a little trick to make her mother kick Fang Miaomiao out of the Fang family. She had initially thought that without the status of a Fang family heiress, Fang Miaomiao would lower her head and no longer be so arrogant.

But she never expected Fang Miaomiao to be so lucky. After just a few days of hardship, she had suddenly married into the Wen family, especially to the point of living in Yu Yuan.

Originally, she had intended to let it go. However, her own parents, upon learning that Fang Miaomiao was living in Yu Yuan, urged her to contact Fang Miaomiao more and even suggested she invite Fang Miaomiao back to the Fang family when she had time.

What was this?

She was the legitimate daughter of the Fang family, and now someone had taken her place. To make matters worse, her own father wanted her to bring that person back.

Why?

She was unwilling.

Why?

After finishing her workout, Fang Miaomiao saw someone standing in the courtyard, looking resentful and stubborn. The moonlight filtering through the thin clouds illuminated the person's face.

This confused her. "What are you standing here for?"

Hearing the sound, Fang Yanhuan quickly wiped away her tears with her hand. "Sister, where did you go?"

Fang Miaomiao looked at Fang Yanhuan with a puzzled expression before saying, "Where I go doesn't seem to concern you."

"Sister."

Fang Miaomiao looked at Fang Yanhuan for a while. Finally, seeing her hesitant expression, she sighed, "Fang Yanhuan, how many times have I told you, you really don't need to call me 'Sister'."

She was still very young in this life and had no desire to be someone's older sister.

"But..." Fang Yanhuan lowered her head awkwardly, then looked up again. "I..."

"If you have something to say, just say it," Fang Miaomiao disliked beating around the bush.

"It's just that you've been out for so long, Mom and Dad miss you. They asked me to see when you'll be free to come home for a visit."

Fang Miaomiao originally wanted to say, "Are you willing to let me come back?"

But then she thought, that sounded a bit too passive-aggressive. The original Fang Miaomiao had occupied Fang Yanhuan's body for over 20 years. While this wasn't a situation the original Fang Miaomiao wanted, saying that would make her sound petty.

Thinking of this, Fang Miaomiao straightened up slightly. "I'm very sorry, I won't be going back."

"Why?" Fang Yanhuan called out to Fang Miaomiao, who was about to leave. "Why won't you go back?"

Fang Miaomiao: "..."

She wasn't a saint. She wasn't the daughter of that family in the first place. If she went back, what would Fang Yanhuan think?

When she read the novel, she had felt quite sympathetic towards Fang Yanhuan. Yes, she had been taken back by the Fang family, but the Fang family valued profit more than family affection.

Honestly, if Fang Yanhuan hadn't ended up with Wen Wenlan, the Fang parents might not have treated her with genuine kindness.

She herself had a strange relationship with this matter. On one hand, she felt Fang Yanhuan was pitiful, but on the other hand, she didn't want to interact with Fang Yanhuan or even the entire Fang family. Therefore, the best course of action was to avoid them.

"Because that's not my home." Fang Miaomiao didn't turn around, looking up at the sky. "I am grateful for their upbringing, but given the current situation, it's best not to meet."

"But..." Fang Yanhuan hesitated.

"You're also grown up. Sometimes you need to think for yourself and not just look at things with your eyes." Fang Miaomiao waved her hand to Fang Yanhuan, her back still turned. "It's getting late, go rest."

Tsk, if it were in the past, she wouldn't even glance at Fang Yanhuan. But since she was occupying Fang Miaomiao's body, she had to handle some of her affairs.

Alas! Relationships were the most troublesome. She longed to do nothing and just lie in her own apartment for months.

That was her ideal life of leisure.

Fang Yanhuan watched the figure enter the room and let out a sneer, looking up at the sky. How could she not know her current parents were greedy? If she hadn't entered the entertainment industry and met Wen Wenlan, they wouldn't have shown her much affection.

At this moment, she rather envied Fang Miaomiao's freedom.

"You're back."

Moonlight streamed through the window onto the bed, illuminating a small figure.

Fang Miaomiao watched him rub his eyes. "Did I wake you? Sorry."

"No." Wen Yan'an propped his chin on his pillow. "I was waiting for you. Where did you go?"

"Just went out for a walk, to clear my head."

Wen Yan'an pouted, his voice carrying a hint of childish complaint he didn't seem to notice. "You always go out at night without me."

"It's best for children not to go out at night; you might be snatched by a big bad wolf," Fang Miaomiao walked towards the bed.

Wen Yan'an huffed and scooted further into the bed. "You're lying to a child."
