"Are you from the Wen family?"
Fang Miaomiao chuckled, "Of course. If you don't believe me, you can check."
"Oh, right. I'm afraid your phones won't have signal here," Fang Miaomiao continued. "After all, if you search, you'll find out Shen Jiani has been playing you, setting you up."
"Don't listen to her nonsense. If she were from the Wen family, why hasn't anyone come looking for her by now?" Shen Jiani's eyelids twitched as she retorted, "And don't forget, I paid. Five hundred thousand. Breach of contract incurs triple the penalty."
"Boss, what do we do now?" the short man asked, sensing something was amiss. "I have a feeling this little celebrity isn't lying."
After all, unless someone had undergone extensive training, it was impossible to analyze the current situation so rationally under threat of death.
"One point five million, can you afford that?"
The short man: "..."
Alright, he couldn't afford it.
"I'll pay," Fang Miaomiao quickly said. "As long as you let me go and leave now, I'll pay off the 1.5 million for you. You can still leave before the Wen family finds out. Why wouldn't you, right?"
"Bullshit, Fang Miaomiao. If you had the ability, your show salary is only 100,000 per episode. How can you pay 1.5 million?"
The three men looked at Fang Miaomiao.
"I have the Wen family backing me," Fang Miaomiao said righteously. "Who told you I cared about that 100,000?"
"Damn, these celebrities really make money," the short man spat. "Just going on a show, acting crazy and putting on a performance for 100,000."
They were only kidnapping for 500,000, and the risk was so high.
The man with buck teeth pondered for a moment and was about to speak when the sound of forceful banging echoed from outside.
"Bitch, you dared to set us up."
As soon as the words fell, the door to the third-floor corridor was violently kicked open from the outside.
"Boss."
The buck-toothed man's gaze sharpened, and he immediately grabbed Fang Miaomiao, who was trying to seize the opportunity to escape.
"Don't move."
"None of you move."
A large number of security guards suddenly appeared in the third-floor corridor.
"Catch that woman."
Before Shen Jiani could react, she was apprehended, and the recording device in her hand was snatched by the security guards.
"What are you doing? Do you believe I'll sue you?" Shen Jiani threatened, her voice a mix of guilt and defiance. "I have a lot of fans. If you don't let me go, I'll have my fans cyberbully your hotel. You know very well how brutal cyberbullying can be."
"Xin Xuan Lai, you're too loud."
"Yes."
Xin Xuan Lai stepped forward and slapped Shen Jiani. "If you talk nonsense again, it won't just be a slap."
"Back off, all of you, back off! Otherwise, I'll stab this slut," the buck-toothed man said, holding Fang Miaomiao in front of him and pressing a fruit knife against her neck as he slowly walked out of the room.
"Back off. This is one of your Wen family members. If we get scared and our hands slip, who knows if we can hold onto the knife," the second of the trio, who had been quiet until now, said sinisterly.
As the three retreated into the corridor with Fang Miaomiao held hostage, they discovered the entire hallway was filled with security.
Damn it, this time, their group had been utterly ruined by that woman.
Amidst the crowd, the man in the mask, whose presence was undeniable even while in a wheelchair, watched with a dark gaze.
Wen Zhiyan's eyes were fixed on Fang Miaomiao, who was being held hostage. Her elegant dress was disheveled, her "heart of breathtaking beauty" seemed to have been lost somewhere, and her fair little face bore heavy slap marks, her wrists bleeding.
His little fairy, whom he cherished, had been harmed by these three men.
"You, hurt her?"
His words, spoken so lightly, made the three men feel as though death had brushed against their necks, sensing their imminent demise.
"Let us leave, and we'll let go of the person in our hands," the buck-toothed man added. "Don't worry, she was very strong just now. We didn't take any advantage of her. In fact, our third brother was injured by her."
"That's right," the short man stated righteously. "It's already considered being polite that we only inflicted minor physical pain on her."
"Third brother."
The short man seethed with indignation but remained silent.
Wen Zhiyan was silent for a moment. "Let her go. What are your demands?"
"Two million, and a car to get us out," the buck-toothed man had started planning his escape route as soon as he heard Fang Miaomiao was from the Wen family.
"Fine."
"We want two million in cash," the second man said. "Who knows if we'll be able to withdraw it from a card. We can't be sure."
Even if they could withdraw it, who knew if they wouldn't call the police and arrest them while they were trying to get the money.
"Fine."
Wen Zhiyan gave Xin Xuan Lai a look.
Xin Xuan Lai nodded slightly and prepared to leave.
"What are you doing?"
"Gathering cash," Xin Xuan Lai said with a polite smile. "You don't honestly think everyone carries two million in cash with them when they go out, do you?"
"Talk here, with the speaker on. We need to know the actual situation," the second man said warily.
Xin Xuan Lai shrugged and complied.
"Your Wen family is truly unyielding."
Having obtained what he wanted, a look of satisfaction appeared on the buck-toothed man's face.
Damn it, if he had known Shen Jiani, that stinking slut, wanted them to bully someone from the Wen family, they should have studied up and kidnapped and blackmailed properly. They wouldn't be in such a passive situation.
"Let her go."
"What's the hurry? We'll naturally let her go when the goods arrive," the buck-toothed man said leisurely.
"She's injured."
"You two are quite affectionate," the buck-toothed man sneered. "To protect her body, she'd rather be beaten to death by me than let us three take any advantage. Your eyes have also been fixed on this woman, afraid I'll stab her."
Wen Zhiyan frowned slightly. "She's injured and needs treatment. I can be your hostage."
"No," Fang Miaomiao refused first. "I'm fine."
"Miaomiao."
"I'm really fine," Fang Miaomiao shook her head and said. "I trust you, and I'll be alright."
Even though he wore a mask, she could always spot him at first glance, as if with him there, she didn't need to worry about anything. This seemed to confirm something for her.
And An An was still in the room. When she realized someone had entered, she felt incredibly fortunate that the little one had gotten drunk.
"Miaomiao," Wen Zhiyan looked at those clear, determined eyes and understood what Miaomiao was worried about. Though his heart ached, he could only grit his teeth and agree.
"Master Wen, the money has arrived."
"Hurry and bring it up."
As soon as the words fell, the security personnel immediately brought over a suitcase.
"Open it," the second man said, his breathing ragged but forcing himself to stay calm.
The security guard glanced at Wen Zhiyan and then opened the suitcase.
Inside the suitcase were stacks upon stacks of hundred-yuan bills.
This made the buck-toothed man and his two companions stare wide-eyed, their breathing quickening. "Two million."
"No less," Wen Zhiyan said calmly.
"Push it over."
The security guard closed the suitcase as instructed and pushed it over.
"We need to go downstairs," the buck-toothed man said, his hand holding Fang Miaomiao's neck moving slightly.
The security guards gritted their teeth and made way.
"Master Wen."
"Have people search the room. An An is in the room."
Xin Xuan Lai was shocked and quickly nodded.
