The next morning, Cui Tong got out of bed, ready to leave.
"Cui Tong, what are you doing?"
"Going to see my wife."
"Are you crazy?" Wen Zhiyan propped himself up to sit. "If you have nothing else to do, go downstairs and make breakfast."
He couldn't disturb his Miao Miao while she was sleeping.
Cui Tong thought for a moment and decided it wasn't impossible. He directly pulled Wen Zhiyan, who was still in bed, up. "Let's go, teach me how to cook. I need to apologize to Man Tong."
Wen Zhiyan: "..."
Had Cui Tong been stimulated, or had his nervous system malfunctioned? He had told Cui Tong to make breakfast himself, so why was Cui Tong dragging him along?
"There's no other way. I only started learning recently, and I'm not very skilled at cooking. As my master, you definitely need to supervise me more," Cui Tong said, his tone carrying a hint of righteousness. "Moreover, if I don't appease Man Tong, do you think Man Tong will let me go home? You might not be able to go home either, after all, Miao Miao and Man Tong are so close."
"Cui Tong, you're truly shameless."
"My wife is about to leave, what do I care about shame?" Cui Tong grumbled a few times. "Success or failure hinges on this. Wen Zhiyan, you have to protect me."
Seeing Cui Tong's shamelessness, Wen Zhiyan almost laughed out loud. "Alright."
If he helped Cui Tong appease Cui Man Tong, he could also enjoy quiet time alone with Miao Miao.
Thinking this, he could only resign himself to cooking in the kitchen with Cui Tong.
"No, the salt should be added last."
"Cui Tong, if I didn't tell you to put something in, can you please not act on your own initiative?"
"Cui Tong, if you dare to touch anything without my permission again, believe me, I'll kick you out of the kitchen right now."
The kitchen was in a state of chaos that morning.
Ye Fei returned from his run and scratched his head, looking at the meek Cui Tong in the kitchen. "What are you guys doing?"
"Making breakfast for my wife," Cui Tong replied, glancing at Ye Fei.
Ye Fei thought that perhaps he could also make breakfast for his own wife, and with that thought, he joined them.
"Did you make your wife angry too?" Wen Zhiyan's eyes flickered with confusion.
"No," Ye Fei shook his head. "I just want to make a meal for Huan Huan. Could you help me, Brother Wen?"
Wen Zhiyan's mouth twitched. In the end, he reasoned that teaching one or two people was the same, and he agreed.
Half an hour later, the steaming hot breakfast was finally ready and served.
"Why don't you knock?"
Wen Zhiyan looked at Cui Tong's timid expression with disdain, shook his head, then pushed aside the obstructing Cui Tong and knocked on the bedroom door.
"Who is it?"
"Miao Miao, it's me," Wen Zhiyan called out softly towards the inside.
Fang Miao Miao opened the door and saw Cui Tong. "Why are you here, Brother Cui?"
Cui Tong rubbed his nose. "How is Man Tong now?"
"She cried so hard last night. Brother, what you did was quite unethical."
"Man Tong cried?" Upon hearing this, Cui Tong disregarded everything else and rushed into the bedroom.
"Man Tong."
Seeing Cui Man Tong emerge from the bathroom, he first breathed a sigh of relief. Then his gaze fell upon her red-rimmed eyes. "Man Tong, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kept it from you. This is my fault. You can hit me or scold me, just don't ignore me, okay?"
"You know you were wrong?"
"I know I was wrong," Cui Tong said with a wronged tone. "From now on, I won't hide anything from Man Tong. I want Man Tong to know everything about me, okay?"
Hearing this, Cui Man Tong's lips curved upwards, but she still said sternly, "Who cares if you tell me everything? If you want to tell me, I don't want to listen."
"It's me. I hope Man Tong will listen to me, okay?" Cui Tong said with a wronged, spoiled tone. "If Man Tong doesn't listen, I won't be able to eat or go to work. If the company collapses then, will Man Tong support me?"
Cui Man Tong glanced at Cui Tong and said with feigned anger, "Who wants to support you? I can't even support myself, and you want me to support you?"
"I want Man Tong to support me," Cui Tong said, pulling her into his arms and leaning his head on her shoulder. "Man Tong, let me lean on you for a bit, okay? Cui Tong really misses Man Tong."
Cui Man Tong pinched the soft flesh on Cui Tong's waist with dissatisfaction. "Now you know you miss me?"
Cui Tong grunted and tightened his embrace around Cui Man Tong. "I do, I miss you all the time. Man Tong, please forgive me this once, okay?"
Cui Man Tong hummed a few times. "We'll see how you behave."
"Then, Cui Tong thanks Man Tong here."
"What about breakfast?"
"How did Man Tong know?" Cui Tong's voice abruptly stopped. He tilted his head to look behind him, but there was no one there. "Did Fang Miao Miao tell you?"
"Yes," Cui Man Tong nodded. "I'm hungry."
"Let's go, we're going to eat breakfast."
After breakfast, the private yacht sent to pick them up arrived.
Cui Man Tong lay lazily on the chair, gazing at the boundless sea.
"What's wrong?"
Cui Man Tong shook her head. "I just feel a bit sleepy."
"Then shall we go inside and sleep?"
Cui Man Tong continued to shake her head. "I don't want to sleep inside."
"Okay, then sleep outside. I'll stay here and watch over Man Tong, alright?"
"Aren't you going to discuss business with Wen Zhiyan?"
"No. My wife is more important. Besides, that collaboration is almost finished. We just need to sign the contract, and it won't take much time."
Only then did Cui Man Tong lie down and drift off to sleep.
Cui Tong gazed at Cui Man Tong's sleeping face without blinking, his heart filled with inexpressible joy. It was wonderful that Man Tong was still by his side.
Even after returning home, Cui Tong still followed Cui Man Tong closely, never leaving her side.
Cui Man Tong found it both amusing and exasperating. "I say, why are you following me around today? I'm not going anywhere."
"I just want to follow you and do nothing."
Cui Man Tong said helplessly, "You, go and pick Sisi up from school right now."
Cui Tong frowned. "I was planning to have Sisi attend boarding school. What do you think?"
Hearing this, Cui Man Tong almost laughed. "You, go to the school immediately and pick Sisi up from school. Otherwise, I don't mind making you live at the company."
Cui Tong immediately panicked. "I'll go, I'll go pick Sisi up right now. Man Tong, you can't send me to the company."
The company was so cold and impersonal; he didn't want to stay there all the time.
Cui Man Tong watched Cui Tong hurry away, then shook her head helplessly and looked down at the book in her hands.
A moment later, the housekeeper entered. "Miss, someone is here to see you."
"Who?"
"They said they are from the Wang family," the housekeeper hesitated for a moment. "But, I don't recall anyone from the Wang family fitting that description."
"Male or female?"
"Female, looks to be around fifty years old."
A cold glint flashed in Cui Man Tong's eyes. This was interesting. While she and Cui Tong were having their spat and she hadn't had the time to deal with them, they had the audacity to show up on their own.
