"A bow to heaven and earth, may your marriage be blessed, and may you grow old together, never to be parted."
"A bow to each other, eye to eye, may your happiness be full every day."
The two bowed to each other.
"Husband and wife bow, ceremony complete."
Cui Mantong watched the couple drinking the nuptial wine on stage, her eyes red-rimmed. "My Miaomiao is getting married."
"Why are you crying?"
"I'm happy, can't I be?" Cui Mantong looked displeased at Cui Tong. "But you did well today."
Cui Tong leaned slightly towards Cui Mantong. "So, can I sleep in my own bed tonight?"
Cui Mantong raised an eyebrow. "Depends on your performance."
"Hm?" Cui Tong's voice rose. "Does Mantong mean I haven't been performing well lately?"
"Barely acceptable."
Cui Tong's gaze settled on a spot. "Mantong, look at that person, doesn't she look familiar?"
"Who?" Cui Mantong followed his gaze. Good heavens, wasn't that Fang YanHuan, who had disappeared long ago and whom she hadn't seen in ages? What was she doing here, and dressed as a waitress, she didn't look like she was here to bless the marriage.
"Holy crap, what is this woman trying to do?" A bad premonition arose in Cui Mantong's heart. "She wouldn't try to ruin things, would she?"
Cui Tong glanced at Da Chen, who was getting closer to Fang YanHuan, and raised an eyebrow. "It's alright. Wen Zhiyan has been waiting for this day for who knows how long. He won't let anyone disrupt the wedding he's so set on."
"Are you sure?"
"Trust your brother-in-law. Your brother-in-law is no pushover."
Cui Mantong kept her eyes on Fang YanHuan until she saw someone appear behind her and lead her away. Only then did she sigh in relief. "As long as nothing was disturbed, this Fang YanHuan is truly like a fly, so annoying. The key is that she can't be killed or driven away. Why is she so bothersome? Who brought her in?"
"Who knows? Maybe she found a way in herself."
That woman always had surprisingly good luck.
Cui Mantong was on edge throughout the entire wedding.
It wasn't until the wedding concluded and the banquet began that Cui Mantong's attention was drawn to the exquisite spread. "Let's eat, let's eat."
Cui Tong dotingly served Cui Mantong.
"Mantong, should we have a wedding ceremony again?"
Cui Mantong asked in confusion, "Why?"
"I want to have a wedding ceremony with Mantong again."
Cui Mantong decisively shook her head and refused, "No, too much trouble."
Cui Tong looked at Mantong, who was eating with relish, then glanced at the bride and groom toasting nearby. A plan slowly took shape in his mind.
"I'm so tired," Fang Miaomiao lay limply on the sofa.
"How about a hot bath?" Wen Zhiyan poured Fang Miaomiao a cup of hot water and said gently, "Then get some rest?"
Important matters awaited tonight.
"I don't want to move," Fang Miaomiao shook her head. "Getting married is really tiring. I'll never get married a second time."
A hint of danger flashed in Wen Zhiyan's eyes.
By the time Fang Miaomiao realized what was happening, she was already in Wen Zhiyan's arms. "What are you doing?"
"Does Miaomiao mean you want to get married a second time?" Wen Zhiyan asked, pinching her chin.
Fang Miaomiao was both amused and exasperated. "This is like a forced marriage."
"Oh? Is it?"
Fang Miaomiao slapped away Wen Zhiyan's hand from her chin. "I'm tired, I want to sleep."
"Okay, Miaomiao sleeps. I have some things to take care of."
"What things, on today of all days?"
"Something unexpected came up. I have to handle it, but I'll be back soon. Don't worry."
"What about An'an?"
"An'an went to play with Sisi. They'll be back tomorrow night."
Hearing this, Cui Tong's stern expression flashed in Fang Miaomiao's mind. "Wen Zhiyan, isn't it a bit much to bully Brother Cui like this?"
"Not at all. We've swapped."
She would have to work overtime for several days later.
"You two..." Fang Miaomiao didn't know what to say.
"Shall I go then?"
Fang Miaomiao waved him off and climbed off Wen Zhiyan. "Then hurry up and go."
Wen Zhiyan placed a kiss on Fang Miaomiao's forehead. "Wait for me tonight."
Fang Miaomiao's old face flushed, and she quickly waved her hand. "You go and get busy."
Wen Zhiyan's words just now made her sound too eager.
She didn't even have that thought.
When Wen Zhiyan arrived at the garage, his expression completely turned cold.
"Master," Da Chen called respectfully.
"Where is she?"
"She's confined in the usual place, waiting for Master Wen to come."
"Let's go."
As Wen Zhiyan and Da Chen entered the small dark room, they heard shouting from inside.
"Who are you people? Do you know what you're doing? This is kidnapping! Believe it or not, I'll call the police as soon as I get out and have all of you arrested."
"You lunatics, let me out! I'm Fang YanHuan, a big star! Do you know that if my fans find out I'm missing, they'll call the police, and none of you will escape."
Hearing the voice, Da Chen apologized helplessly. "Master Wen, this woman is a complete lunatic. We've knocked her unconscious so many times, yet she wakes up in the shortest possible time."
Wen Zhiyan knew Fang YanHuan's peculiar nature. "It's alright, just ignore her. Guard the place."
He pushed open the door to the small dark room.
Fang YanHuan instinctively looked over. When she clearly saw who it was, she sneered. "Well, well, I didn't expect Master Wen to come see me. I thought you'd be lost in a woman's embrace today."
"My people found sulfuric acid on you. You intended to disfigure Miaomiao."
Fang YanHuan nodded cheerfully, her smile looking quite manic. "Yes, I wanted to disfigure Fang Miaomiao. I just can't stand seeing Fang Miaomiao live so well."
She stole her noble daughter status for so many years, and even married someone who became someone everyone else couldn't reach.
Why should she, Fang Miaomiao, have all this?
Why should she endure so much suffering and end up with nothing, while Fang Miaomiao could easily have the things she dreamed of? It wasn't fair, not fair at all.
"So you think all of this is Fang Miaomiao's fault?"
"Otherwise? If it weren't for her, how would I have lived under someone else's roof for decades? How would I be uneducated? How could I not even keep my own lover?"
If, if she had been a rich daughter from the start, if she had received a higher education funded by wealth, how could Wen Lan have broken up with her?
"Before the age of five, you enjoyed a parental love that Fang Miaomiao never had."
"Fang Miaomiao also..."
"No," Wen Zhiyan impatiently interrupted Fang YanHuan. "If you had any brains, you would have investigated these things instead of blaming others and placing all your grievances on Fang Miaomiao."
