Chapter 379 The Liar

"I'm not an idiot. Once the police get all the criminal evidence from the tea garden, I can apply to the higher-ups. I'll go ahead first," Wen Zhiyan guessed. "Ran Qiu is not a simple character; he might have buried something on the island."

"Buried something, and you're still going?" Fang Zhihuan asked with a grave expression. "Why don't we just raid from the cliff behind instead?"

Wen Zhiyan shook his head. "Trust me, I'm going to live with Miao Miao for the rest of my life."

A lifetime couldn't be too short.

Hearing this, Fang Zhihuan rolled his eyes. "Are you trying to fly to heaven? It's a situation like this, and you're still thinking about tormenting people."

"Trust me."

"Little Uncle, I'll go with you."

"Why are you here?" Wen Zhiyan was somewhat surprised to see Wen Wenlan. "Is the matter over there resolved?"

"Mm, Fang Yanhuan has been sent to the hospital, and Mother has been arrested."

What Wen Wenlan didn't tell Wen Zhiyan was that Grandmother knew about this and was currently throwing tantrums at home, threatening to hang herself.

"Little Uncle, An An and Auntie are my family. I want to go with you." Wen Wenlan said with renewed determination. He wasn't stupid. When his uncle often used him to investigate things, he had sensed something was wrong, and the more he investigated, the more he was shocked. Perhaps he had some good luck, and this good luck could help his uncle and the others. Since that was the case, why wouldn't he see it through to the end?

"Do you really want to come with us? Even if it means facing mortal danger?"

Wen Wenlan nodded firmly. "Little Uncle, I'm sure."

Wen Zhiyan was silent for a moment before nodding. "Alright, Little Uncle owes you a favor."

"The plane and other preparations are ready. What are your plans?" Fang Zhihuan asked after finishing his cigarette and walking over. "We can act anytime from our side."

"Let's go."

Xu Lin then arrived with his men and said a few words to them. Fang Zhihuan then had people escort Wen Zhiyan onto the boat. "Be careful. I don't want to be in charge of collecting your body."

Wen Zhiyan's lips curved upwards, the sea breeze ruffling his bangs. "Don't worry, I'm going to live a long and happy life with my Miao Miao."

The ship sped towards the coast.

"Sir, Wen Zhiyan's ship has docked."

"How many people on board?" Ran Qiu asked casually while drinking tea.

"Two, Wen Zhiyan and Wen Wenlan."

"Oh?" Ran Qiu's lips curled upwards, but his eyes were filled with killing intent. "I didn't expect that young man Wen Wenlan would come along."

"Sir, people from over there sent word that the plane to pick us up is already on its way. Our men will stall for time to protect you as much as possible."

Ran Qiu stood up from his seat. "Let's go. Let's see what interest those two have in coming to me."

"Sir, what about the children?"

Ran Qiu glanced at him and said calmly, "Do I need to teach you about this? Send videos to the sellers. Tell them to hurry up, or I won't mind handing over everyone and the evidence."

"Yes."

The edge of the island.

Ran Qiu looked kindly at the two men surrounded by bodyguards. "Long time no see. Why didn't you inform me when you came to the island? This sudden visit has made everyone so awkward and embarrassed."

"Uncle, hand them over."

Ran Qiu was still smiling. "What are you saying? I don't quite understand."

"Ran Qiu, do you think you can escape?" Wen Zhiyan acted as if he didn't see the burly bodyguards around them. "Either hand over the people and surrender voluntarily to seek leniency, or we'll send you to prison. You choose."

"What to do? I don't want to choose either." Ran Qiu's smile never faded. "I just like to take risks and play with excitement. I don't know how you found this place, but since you're here, you'll stay here forever."

As he spoke, the surrounding bodyguards moved a few steps closer to Wen Zhiyan and the other man.

Wen Zhiyan looked at Ran Qiu. "Ran Qiu, do you think the things you've done will never be caught on evidence?"

The smile on Ran Qiu's face froze. He hadn't quite grasped the meaning of Wen Zhiyan's words.

"Hong Lu, Fang Yanhuan."

As his voice fell, Ran Qiu's entire face seemed capable of dripping ink.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Ran Qiu said this and gestured for his men to attack.

Wen Wenlan shielded Wen Zhiyan behind him. "Little Uncle, I'll protect you."

Due to acting and long-term fitness training, Wen Wenlan's movements were quite good. While fighting the bodyguards, he was able to keep Wen Zhiyan behind him.

Ran Qiu watched this scene with a meaningful smile in his eyes. "Don't hold back."

Upon hearing this, the bodyguards' attacks became faster, almost hitting with full force. In a short time, Wen Wenlan was at a disadvantage.

"Sir, the plane is here."

Hearing this, Ran Qiu's eyes showed a rare hint of a smile. "How is Qiu Xi doing?"

"That side is almost settled. We can take them onto the plane anytime."

Ran Qiu's smile deepened. "Wen Zhiyan, even if you found this place, so what? You still can't find your wife and children. Once I reach a safe place, I'll show you how we torture your wife and children."

With that, Ran Qiu turned and left with the bodyguards beside him.

Wen Zhiyan received the information, his gaze sharpened, and he clenched his fist, smashing it at a thug preparing to launch a sneak attack.

Immediately after, he delivered a flying kick.

The sudden turn of events not only stunned Wen Wenlan but also made the previously confident Ran Qiu's expression change. "Your leg, how is that possible?"

"Little Uncle?"

Wen Zhiyan's lips curved upwards. "You seem very surprised to see me standing."

"How can you be..." Ran Qiu stumbled, finally leaning on a bodyguard's arm, and roared with eyes wide with rage, "Liar, you dared to deceive me!"

That bitch Hong Lu also deceived him. Thinking of how she had confidently said that Wen Zhiyan would never be able to stand up again, he wished he could travel back in time and give her a piece of his mind. If it weren't for Hong Lu's duplicity, how could he have been fooled by Wen Zhiyan like an idiot?

"Wen Zhiyan, you really are..." Ran Qiu suppressed his anger and roared, "Just like your dead older brother, so annoying that one wants to kill you completely."

"Sir, our priority now is not to deal with Wen Zhiyan. We need to leave here. If the green hills remain, we'll always have wood to burn."

Ran Qiu gritted his teeth but still agreed with his subordinate's point and ran towards the small wooden house behind them.

Wen Zhiyan's eyes flickered. He kicked one person away and twisted another's arm.

Seeing this, Wen Wenlan couldn't help but swallow. "Little Uncle, I didn't expect you to be so powerful."

"Less nonsense." Wen Zhiyan's peripheral vision caught sight of the ship on the sea. "Be careful. Follow Xu Dui. I'll catch up. If there's any situation, contact the other party."

"Little Uncle, you must be careful."
