Chapter 310 Interlude 2

"Do you need something?" Fang Miaomiao leaned against the wall.

"Madam, when did you return?" Xin Xuanlai asked with a smile. "Didn't Master Wen say you still had a few scenes left to film, and Director Chen asked you to stay temporarily?"

"Oh, I misremembered," Fang Miaomiao said lightly. "Speak, why are you here."

"To..." Xin Xuanlai's eyes darted.

"I don't like people who lie."

Xin Xuanlai's expression was awkward. "I came back to get something."

"Where is Wen Zhiyan now?"

"At the company," Xin Xuanlai said immediately. "The Wen Corporation is having some problems lately, so Old Master Wen sent Master Wen to the company."

"Is that so?"

"Of course," Xin Xuanlai said obsequiously. "Master Wen loves Madam so much, if I dared to lie to Madam, Master Wen would definitely deduct my salary."

"Have you eaten?"

Although Xin Xuanlai didn't know why she suddenly changed the subject, he still replied, "To Madam's words, I haven't had time to eat because I've been too busy."

"I see," Fang Miaomiao nodded thoughtfully. "Did you drive here?"

"Yes."

"Alright, let's go. Since you've worked so hard, I'll treat you to a meal."

After speaking, Fang Miaomiao went to the living room to get her hat and phone.

Xin Xuanlai: "..."

Help, what is this situation!

"What are you standing around for? Let's go."

Xin Xuanlai glanced at Fang Miaomiao, who was sitting behind him, through the rearview mirror. "Madam, where are we going to eat?"

"October Hotel."

Xin Xuanlai's hand on the steering wheel slipped instantly. It's over, it's over. He had a feeling Madam might know something.

"What's wrong? You look like I'm going to take your life. Don't worry, I'll explain to Wen Zhiyan later."

"Um, Madam, all the dining spots at October Hotel are full today. How about we change places?"

"Change to what place."

Seeing her back down, Xin Xuanlai let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief. "How about Xiang Zhuang? Xiang Zhuang has introduced several new dishes recently, which Madam will surely like."

Fang Miaomiao smiled.

If she remembered correctly, Xiang Zhuang and October Hotel were on opposite sides of town, one east and one west.

"Madam," Xin Xuanlai's heart leaped. "If you don't like it, we can change places."

"Okay, let's go to Xiang Zhuang."

Xin Xuanlai looked at Fang Miaomiao, who had put on her sunglasses and remained silent, through the rearview mirror for a long time before starting the car.

An hour later.

Fang Miaomiao looked at Xiang Zhuang outside the car window and found it particularly ironic.

Should she be glad that she unintentionally signed a contract with Director Chen, ensuring her financial independence?

"Madam?" Xin Xuanlai called out tentatively.

"Yes?"

"Um..." Jiang Xinglai scratched his head. "Master Wen asked me to deliver some documents."

"Okay, you go ahead and do your work."

Fang Miaomiao got out of the car.

Seeing her enter the entrance of Xiang Zhuang, Jiang Xinglai finally relaxed completely and started the car towards October Hotel.

"Hello, are you going?"

Fang Miaomiao glanced at her phone. "October Hotel."

"Okay."

Two hours later.

Fang Miaomiao looked at the magnificent October Hotel not far away.

"Miaomiao?"

Fang Miaomiao looked over. "Sister Man Tong."

"How did you get back?" Cui Mantong handed the child in her arms to a man in a smart suit standing nearby and strode over to Fang Miaomiao. "I thought you were still filming."

"No, all my scenes were finished yesterday."

"Aunt Miaomiao."

Fang Miaomiao patted Cui Yongsheng's head. "Sisi, long time no see."

"Hey, if I had known your scenes were finished, I would have asked you to come with me."

"What are you guys up to?"

"Attending a banquet," Cui Mantong pouted. "Look, inside, Old Madam Wen has recognized a goddaughter, and today is her goddaughter's birthday, so we received an invitation long ago."

"By the way, where's your husband?"

For a Wen family occasion, Wen Zhiyan wouldn't be absent, would he?

Fang Miaomiao's lips curved upwards, and she pointed inside. "Look, inside."

Cui Mantong glanced back at the hotel behind them, her eyes widening in disbelief. "Miaomiao."

Fang Miaomiao shrugged. "Give me a face-saving opportunity? Let me go in and take a look."

"Aren't these people going too far? Wait, I'll stand up for you."

Fang Miaomiao quickly grabbed Cui Mantong. "Wait, Sister Mantong, wait. It hasn't been confirmed yet. Besides, the child is still here, let's keep a low profile."

Cui Mantong looked at Cui Yongsheng, who was looking at them with confused eyes, and took a deep breath. "We're not in a hurry, not in a hurry."

"Hello."

"Hello." Fang Miaomiao nodded at the man.

Cui Tong put his arm around Cui Mantong's waist. "Tongtong, you can't rush things."

"Someone is bullying my sister."

"Then find evidence?"

"Find evidence."

Cui Mantong wriggled out of Cui Tong's embrace. "I'm staying with Miaomiao today. You take Sisi."

The one big and one small looked at each other and tacitly shifted their gaze.

"Mom, can't I be with you?" Cui Yongsheng clearly disliked being alone with his dad.

"No, your mother has something very important to do today. You stay with your dad, understand?"

"Alright," Cui Yongsheng sighed maturely. "Mom, take care of Aunt Miaomiao."

"Good boy."

Cui Mantong pecked Cui Tong on the cheek, then, blushing slightly, pulled Fang Miaomiao, who was smirking beside her, into the hotel.

This birthday banquet.

Ran Lian had booked the entire second floor.

As soon as they entered, they were greeted by a scene of clinking glasses, lively conversations, and dancing.

"So extravagant," Cui Mantong sighed softly. "I wasn't even this extravagant at my own wedding."

The people at the banquet glanced at the two women, found no background for them in their minds, and immediately resumed their conversations.

"Miaomiao, let's find a quiet spot."

Fang Miaomiao nodded.

The two found a relatively quiet spot with a good view of the entire hall.

"Miaomiao, I don't seem to see Wen Zhiyan," Cui Mantong had calmed down on the way. "Could we be mistaken?"

Fang Miaomiao sat quietly in her seat. "I don't know."

Cui Mantong sighed and hugged Fang Miaomiao. "Then we'll wait a while. The host hasn't appeared yet anyway."

"Thank you."

"Why are you thanking me?" Cui Mantong comforted her.

The last time they were filming a reality show, she had noticed Fang Miaomiao at first glance.

She thought this person was truly beautiful, but her eyes always gave off an uncomfortable, vacant feeling.

But at some point, she realized Fang Miaomiao had changed, becoming someone she liked more and more.

It was as if they had been best friends in a past life, and she loved seeing her smile and chatting with her.
